Moat Trump voters will just hand wave this away. Today on CNN I heard someone make a good point. Literally all they care about is that he opposes abortion. As long as he does that, they can claim he's fighting for Christian values no matter what he does

From the article:

Trumps evangelical supporters have pointed to his Supreme Court nominees, his defense of religious liberty, and his stewardship of the economy, among other things, as achievements that justify their support of the president. We believe the impeachment hearings have made it absolutely clear, in a way the Mueller investigation did not, that President Trump has abused his authority for personal gain and betrayed his constitutional oath. The impeachment hearings have illuminated the presidents moral deficiencies for all to see. This damages the institution of the presidency, damages the reputation of our country, and damages both the spirit and the future of our people. None of the presidents positives can balance the moral and political danger we face under a leader of such grossly immoral character.

This idea that having or having had a dick is some kind of non-issue borders on lunacy.
I don't think people are doing that as much as you think here. People have preferences and I think it's personally reasonable to have preferences if they're based on physical or emotional connection.

But if you chat with someone in the bar for 30 minutes and then they tell you they are pre-op transitioning, don't get pissed they didn't tell you upfront (which is what the first few posts in this very topic seem to think should be the norm).

In terms of the other party asking, I actually think it's okay if done in a tactful manner. As a gay man (which is definitely different than a trans person), I have had girls ask me if I'm gay early on to ensure there is no lack of reciprocation for flirting. I also don't think it's my job to go around telling people I'm gay just to make sure I don't hurt their feelings if they find me attractive.

Being trans and being a dick aren't the same thing and shouldn't really be compared and weighed equally like that, don't you think? This is a weak, and frankly rude strawman just to try and call me a dick, I think. Not cool.

For you, maybe they don't seem comparable. But I'm sure plenty of women and men would like to know if the person they're talking to is a dick upfront.

And if you read into that statement that you're the dick, that's on you.

Why drag it out? If I don't want to talk to girls with dicks, I think it's reasonable to know ahead of time to avoid the "oh, you have a dick? Yyyyyyeeeaaah, I'm not really about all that, sorry."

And no, I don't believe in the "bathroom predator" thing, don't hit me with some bullshit just because I prefer cis women.

Would it be fair for some guys to open up the conversation with "Hi, I'm a dick" just to ensure the other person knows not to waste time talking to them?

Honestly, people need to accept that the economy is doing better. And while there are definite issues about wealth inequality and wage growth, those same issues existed under Obama's tenure. If you complained about it then and are still complaining about it now - great on consistency. But some arguments on this topic are identical to the ones made in 2016 when Republicans and other individuals talked about how the economy didn't "feel" good, but now are so content with it.

We also need to realize that by admitting the economy is good does not absolve Trump of all the other bullshit he does. And also acknowledge that Trump and his administration don't do much to actually affect the economy.

Did you even read the article you posted? He's making an allusion to a chilsraging against his parent. He even joked that his statement was clickbait right after it.

This HBO show isn't doing anything for Watchmen or anything that the original delivered on and the only reason it seems to have the name is money.

Did you even read the article I posted? Lindelof goes into detail why he chose to create this show and even explains that all media has the ability to be expanded upon inhe future.

Personally I like this idea better. Rather than creating a remake or adaptation that probably wont be as good, he does a sequel instead.

I followed absolutely nothing about the new HBO show. In what way does it stray from the source material?

In every way.

It has virtually nothing to do with the source material.

Also Alan Moore stated he didn't want it to be "too political" anyway, he said that why it's so obviously a alternate universe with Nixon in his fourth term.

Not to mention Alan Moore stated the series was shit, and the writer of the HBO series responded with an "Fuck You" message to him.

This is pretty one-sided. It certainly is related to the source material. The show is less political than people are making it out to be. Lindelof never said Fuck You to Moore in any way.

Do yourself a favor and read this interview with Lindelof. You still might hate the show, but at least direct your criticism fairly.

Let's see in California for example it cost almost $1000 for a 1-bedroom apartment. I was reading a book on the Black Dahlia and back in 1946, the cost to rent an apartment was basically $1 a day. It was like $30 a month.

Food prices have gone up dramatically, it cost $6.51 for a whooper without cheese in San Diego, that is ridiculous. 12 years ago a whooper was like around $1.99. People are just working yo make ends meet, and that's if they are lucky to land a job. The taxes and insurance for your car is very expensive. Healthcare prices are through the roof, depending on where you live the cost to buy a house is $300,000 at the cheapest in California.

Why is there so much inflation? Well it cost $4.407 trillion to fund the federal government, and we have a budget deficit of $960 billion dollars, there is your problem. We have a overtaxed and over-regulated economy that is forcing companies to ship their jobs overseas like in China and India just to be profitable.

So after the last tax cut, you still believe that corporate taxes are too high?

I don't think Joe Biden is corrupt, Joe Biden's son could potentially be corrupt, regardless this is only gonna hurt his campaign and benefit Warren.

You don't? Then why do you think even Obama won't endorse him while he was own VP for 8 years?

Something is fishy with the Bidens....

Maybe because Obama specifically picked someone old to be his VP because he didn't want a VP who was only in it to catapult himself to president after. There's reporting on this too. Not just inane conspiracy theories.

1) Biden at the direction of the Obama administration in agreement with other European countries wanted Ukraine to get rid a corrupt prosecutor who was supposed to target corruption in Ukraine.

2) Trump under the guise of helping his own campaign chose to withhold funding already earmarked by Congress in order to get Ukraine to investigate Biden and his son. He coordinated this through his personal attorney and the attorney general, two people who should not be involved in foreign policy.

Also with that, Trump and his administration understood that this was damaging politically and tried to hide it. Biden and the Obama administration were very explicit about what they were doing.

You get angry because your worldview is brought into question. If you are not attracted to trans women then why did you flirt with one? It confuses you and makes you question your sexuality. This is textbook insecurity.

Because looks can be deceiving, trans who dedicate themselves into looking like woman. The person is attracted to the fact she looks like a woman , doesnt mean theyre attracted to penis.

Holy hell how did this comment not receive more attention? I don't know if this is blatant trolling or ignorance.

second, there was never a "then" or "now"

While I do think it was intended as hyperbole, it is also dumb. He brings up three states (which ones) as an assumed joke, but hen seriously mentions three cities.

Anyway public transportation is a joke but it's hard to fight against using cars and highways when they are so common and efficient.

This is BS because almost every other language has that as a natural starting point as well.
