Should people with dietary restrictions tell people who might be preparing food for them?

When preparing a meal for someone it is always a good idea to ask if someone has dietary restrictions. For example, you don't don't want to give whole milk to someone who is lactose intolerant. You don't want to give someone pork who is against pork for religious reasons. You don't want to give someone carrot juice who gags the second carrot juice gets in their mouth. Everyone has preferences to what type of food they love and desire and it is common courtesy to ask what type food someone likes. I would be greatly upset if someone took me to a carrot juice bar (I really do NOT like Carrot juice), but I would love it if someone brought me to a pizza buffet (and asking me if I love pizza would be a huge clue that bringing me to a pizza buffet is the way to the heart in my stomach).

What's the point of making kid videos not be searchable? Doesn't that just make the video useless

The whole thing sounds stupid. You mark your videos for kids once January (or sometime in early 2020) starts, they will no longer be searchable, will have no comments, will have no notifications, will not be in the recommended / suggested column on the right side of the page, and will make 90% less revenue (so if they were, for example, making $100 on each video, now they are only making $10).

In other words, if anyone makes kids content on Youtube, they are fucked. The existing Youtube channels aimed at kids on Youtube will have to strongly rely on people already subscribed to them who check their channels everyday without needing notifications to remind them to check their channels. In other words, there will be NO growth in their audience (if anything, it will just continue to go down drastically over time) and given how there is barely any revenue coming in (which is disastrous for channels with high production value, like Cocomelon and others) the vast majority are going to not be able to continue.

The whole thing is STUPID and makes no damn sense!!!!
We are basically having a repeat of what happened many many years ago with Saturday morning cartoons, Sunday morning cartoons, and weekday afternoon cartoons when the government came in with a shit load of requirements (like the "E/I" demands) upon NON-cable networks like Fox, ABC, CW, NBC, CBS, local syndicated networks, etc, etc.
They are basically MURDERING kids programs on Youtube (and pretty much from the mainstream part of the internet that offers free content you don't need a monthly subscription for).
To make matters worse, videos which aren't even meant for kids (ONE example of many: a "rated T for Teen" Star Wars video game, Jedi: Fallen Order) are being lumped in with the kids videos.

The cult is NOT actually a fun thing at all.
There was a trial that took place a few months ago and long story short, there was a significant amount of pedo stuff (including illegal porn the cult leader made of a minor that was part of the cult) and very non-consensual sex happening in that cult (to the point where some have nick named the cult a "rape cult") and TONS and TONS of really fucked up other stuff discovered at the trial (where the cult leader was found guilty by the jury and the other cult members like Allison Mack plead guilty to various charges before the trial even began, leaving the cult leader alone for the trial. The cult leader refused to plea since he wasn't given a plea deal, so he went through with the trial). It's actually some REALLY fucked up and sick stuff that went down. Just putting out that warning for anyone that thinks that a sex cult is something like a bunch of horny people during the 1980's having fun and exciting sex at the Playboy mansion. It's definitely not that, not even close.

Morgz is Cancelled

I just saw that Pewdiepie video (which I'll post below). While Pewdiepie starts off the video rather silly and annoying, he does hit some VERY critical and very serious points later in the video (which 100% guarantees that the FTC is going to start their first wave / sweep of fining people $42,000 per video):

1) Big Youtuber Jake Paul is shown in actual video footage taken months ago that his audience is 8 years old to 16 years old (this is said and shown at the 6 minute and 40 second time mark in the video below). Jake Paul is now fucked. Because of that footage, he has to either mark all his videos for kids (which will destroy 90% of his ad revenue and will bury his videos as they no longer appear in the search results... these are the consequences of marking ones videos as "for kids") or he is going to get slapped to one hell of a lawsuit from the FTC, dragged into court where FTC lawyers will use that footage against him, and then fine him $42,000 per video.

I am NOT a fan of Jake Paul at all (I don't like the guy), but I do NOT want to see the FTC do this to him or anyone else since that's going to open "Pandora's box" and the FTC is going to use Jake Paul as their first victim to justify going after MORE and MORE Youtubers for those $42,000 fines. Jake Paul is one of the top Youtubers and then they will work themselves down to the lower Youtubers, even casual Youtube accounts of people who may have uploaded one or two videos 10 years ago and can't even remember their log in info. In other words: A LOT of fucked up shit is going to occur (leading to the death of Youtube and the near death of video sharing of any kind in regards to most video game footage videos, some music videos, some old TV shows (especially if animated), etc, etc).

2) In the video, Pewdiepie is astonished at the footage of the FTC guy stating they he will be SUING individual content creators and stated that he finds it insane that he has to go through 5,000 of his own videos and mark them all? Well, whatever he decides to mark them as, he better mark them as something because since he's one of the top Youtubers, the FTC is going to also be trying to drag his ass to court as well if given the chance.

3) In the video below, there is footage of Pixel Dan (who is a big toy collector Youtuber who mostly has videos for ADULT toy collectors) getting flagged by Youtube's machine learning and many of his videos meant for ADULT toy collectors getting marked as "for KIDS by the Youtube machine learning. This is horrific since the machine learning cannot tell the difference between what is for adults and what is for kids very well at all, which can leave a LOT of Youtubers (even small casual Youtube users who might upload gaming clips) wide open to be victims of the FTC:

Depends on context, I think. If it's an old-ass game that you otherwise can't play for whatever variety of reasons, it isn't. If it's a newer game you can easily obtain and you're sure you'd like it but you pirate it anyway, it is stealing.

^THIS.
I don't think there is anything wrong with an old game which has zero chance of showing up on a modern virtual console type service (EXAMPLE: 16-bit era video games based on a cartoon, toy, or comic where the I.P is currently in permanent legal limbo due to an endless legal dispute between multiple business partners (or being held hostage by whoever owns the legal rights) and there is zero chance of a re-release of the video game, like Exo-Squad, Mighty Max, Dick Tracy, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, etc, etc).
HOWEVER...
If it's a game that is out currently in stores (EXAMPLE: Super Mario Odyssey, Death Stranding, Gears 5, etc) then it is stealing since those are games currently out now that are widely available.

Okay, so apparently things are looking to get worse.
While Rich from Review Tech USA isn't taking COPPA as a direct threat to him (I do feel he is underestimating the snake like nature of the FTC), as a father of two young toddlers, he is rather pissed about the real possibility of kids programming vanishing from Youtube.

THEN THINGS GET WORSE....

He is fearful of Youtube's "machine learning" in relation to COPPA to determine if a video is a kids video or a video not meant for kids. Youtube has been testing out it's COPPA related machine learning on random channels (before it launches it at full force come January) and it attacked this other guy's Youtube video and marked it as "for kids ONLY" because it had VIDEO GAME footage (and this was even with a MANUAL review from a human at Youtube thrown in). This is horrible for several reasons (the most severe reason is that it can open up the flood gates to an FTC fine of $42,000 when January hits for those with certain types of video game footage. It should be noted that the footage that was flagged as "for kids only" was rated T for teen).

Of course, prohibition or limitation on profiteering from children's content has usually meant the end of children's content.
That's why Saturday morning cartoons died, along with a mass exodus to cable where the "E/I" rules don't matter.

@Questionmarktarius

Yeah, I remember growing up and having Saturday morning cartoons (and even Sunday morning cartoons) as well as weekday afternoon cartoons after school and then, because of all the legal bullshit that started happening, all of that faded away (all that was left was during the mid to late 2000's was Fox's Saturday morning line up, which eventually devolved into them just running reruns of old cartoons, not new content. Also left was the CW Saturday morning line-up which had mostly reruns of older cartoons with a few new episodes of YugiOh and whatever else. The few new CW content was also on cable, so it wasn't exclusive. Then it all just went away completely by the very early 2010's).

This sucked horribly for any kid stuck in a poor family who couldn't afford cable and only had the regular channels. The worst part was what replaced all of those cartoons. The weekday afternoon cartoons got replaced with a bunch of shitty talk shows meant for adults (Jerry Springer type rip-off shows with a bunch of hillbilly cousins having an affair and stuff like Maury Povich where some girl who slept with 20 guys is trying to figure out who her babys daddy is).

The Saturday morning cartoons got replaced with news meant for adults (where the news reports would go over horrible things like some guy murdering his wife and kids definitely not kid appropriate stuff).

The Sunday morning cartoons got replaced with more news shows with more news stories about people being murdered and a bunch of shitty infomercials selling mops and brooms and stuff. None of these programs were children appropriate and any kids without cable (the poor kids) were screwed since there pretty much was no more kids programming on regular TV thanks to the government stepping in and fucking everything up with their E/I demands which fucked over profitability for kids programming, as well as placing shitty limitations on the non-cable networks. Sadly, I see the same thing happening on Youtube. I sadly expect almost all the kids videos (especially the really good videos. Not the Elsa shit, but the really good stuff that kids love on Youtube) to go away because of what the FTC is going to do to Youtube.

That's what I hated about those stupid "E/I" rules the U.S government forced upon basic network television like FOX, CBS, NBC, CW and ABC. All that law did was kill off all kids programming (Saturday and Sunday morning cartoons and weekday afternoon cartoons) from the basic networks. This led to the end of things like weekday afternoon cartoons being replaced with bullshit talk shows like Dr.Phil dealing with some out of control bratty 13 year old who uses drugs and beats the shit out of her own mom (who somehow got a rap contract and is now a 15 year old rapper cursing everyone out and has an attitude problem. What the fuck?!?!? This is what kids now days have as entertainment. The flying fuck!). History is repeating itself with the FTC (a U.S agency) fucking over kids content on Youtube.

I don't think he's even aware of the mature content on Youtube. He would probably have a heart attack if he saw an episode of the Angry Video Game Nerd on Youtube). Also, that written piece was written in 1998 and has never been updated. In other words, there is an extremely high chance whoever wrote those guidelines NEVER even used the internet.

Anyway, I'm going to post that image here below for people that haven't checked out the opening post video and that link. Under these legal definitions from the FTC, something like South Park and Grand Theft Auto and the UFC would fall under being "for kids", which is crazy:

I just emphasized gaming since this is Gamefaqs and gaming is the main thing here. Honestly, everyone leaving Youtube and jumping to Daily Motion would be the best solution. The FTC is an U.S based agency carrying out U.S laws (which fucks over Youtube since their headquarters is in the U.S). Daily Motion is in France, the FTC can't do shit to them. Daily Motion has never been popular compared to Youtube but that can easily change if there is a mass exodus of Youtube creators who decide to erase everything off of Youtube (mostly out of fear of the FTC with their $42,000 fines) and just go to Daily Motion and upload everything there.

I still watch episodes of Classic Game Room on Daily Motion (great stuff):

Hopefully everyone escapes / leaves Youtube (NOT because I hate Youtube, but because I don't want to see a shit load of people getting hit with $42,000 fines from the FTC they can't pay and then being sued in court by the FTC).

@SavageGlum100

Abandoning Youtube and everyone going to Daily Motion would be the best way to stop this mess. The FTC can't go after a French company (especially since France has certain laws set up to protect French owned businesses from other countries legal bullshit).

Long story short, the FTC wants money (hence the $170 million fine against Youtube as well as threatening to SUE Youtubers who don't classify their videos correctly with a $42,000 fine. I am NOT exaggerating when I say they will sue people for that money. In this video below, one of the main FTC guys within the first minute of the video below says he will SUE anyone... this includes casual Youtube users who have gameplay clips of something like Super Mario Odyssey and Crash 3 on their Youtube channels and don't classify them as "for kids".

The video also shows what the FTC considers "for kids" and given the way the law is written, ALL video games technically fall under "for kids only" given their legal definitions (the way it's written even something like Grand Theft Auto can fall under what the FTC considers "for kids only". The video below goes over this and even shows off the legal laws the FTC has in place regarding this). On a side note, some people are asking WHY the FTC is doing this now and not before given how Youtube has been in existence since 2006 or so. The president appointed brand new people to the FTC last year. The FTC wants lots of money (hence the reason why the fines are an expensive $42,000 per video in violation). I'll leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions:

(it should be noted that a very large percentage of content on Youtube might be no longer available once 2020 starts, especially a good amount of gaming content and whatever else you might watch).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0veLrwd9CK4

This news article below goes over all the new people appointed to high positions in the FTC last year:

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-ftc-congress/senate-confirms-first-trump-picks-for-federal-trade-commission-idUSKBN1HX3HZ

This shows all the people in charge of the FTC right now (almost all of them gained their new positions during May 2018):

https://www.ftc.gov/about-ftc/commissioners

If you have videos of ANY kind on Youtube (even casual game clips or something you uploaded for your own amusement) you might want to be very careful on how you classify them since one mistake can lead to being sued by the FTC for $42,000). Also, if there are any videos you enjoy watching on Youtube, you might not want to get too attached to them.

Based solely on the case before him, no. That would be inconsistent with presumption of innocence. The fact that his adult brother is also being charged is another point against charging the kid as an adult: the dynamics here were obviously not those of an equal adult partnership.

However, those are only the points against. It sounds like there may also be points for. He has indeed been in constant trouble with the law: he isn't a stranger to the concept of crime, or to violence. It sounds like he may very well have needed help, but at this point that's going to have to be for a court psychologist to decide, whether they try him as a child or as an adult. He also tried to escape, when the others held with him apparently did not: another indication that he knew what he did and how serious it was. Is thie compelling enough to override my points against? I don't know. But it could be. And so, I struggle.

I do think people are over-focused on the actual crime itself. Bringing that into the decision is uncomfortably close to prejudging the case. I'm also not sure it's necessary to reach a conclusion either way.

I look at the situation in this way:
I have two older brothers only a few years older than me (similar to how this kid is 13 and his brother is 19). Even at age 13, if one of my older brothers said "Hey, let's invade the house belonging to these two guys with guns and let's SHOOT them / MURDER them so we can steal their drugs!!" I would know full damn well, even at age 13, that taking a gun and legit murdering two other individuals is a horrendous, evil thing to do and I should not do it... and this is coming from someone who had an older brother who did some horrible things to others.
This kid escaped even with shackles around his legs. That alone tells you he knows he fucked up and wanted to literally run away from his punishment.
This kid should get mental help, but he sure as hell should NOT be free before he turns 18 (which, according to the second article, is what will happen if he is tried and convicted as a juvenile... he will be free before he turns 18). As far as I'm concerned, he should be tried as an adult and stay in a mental health facility for the rest of his life and not be allowed out of it.

Even at a young age, I had older siblings who wanted me to do stupid shit and even at 10 years old I would tell them I didn't want to do it and if they kept pressuring me I would just turn around and tell my mom. This 13 year old murderer knew what he was getting himself into. For crying out loud, he ambushed his victims. That's premeditated murder that was planned out in order for the ambush to be successful. Just lock him up (I don't care where, just don't let him out).

This kid is a real life Michael Myers in the making. If he's like this now at 13, imagine him 5 years from now when he's 18 (he might legit be doing a real life version of a "Grand Theft Auto: Mass Murder Rampage" if he's out free at that age. To hell with this, lock him up and don't ever let him out.

^THIS.
I don't want this kid getting out because this kid is going to be getting a lot older and a lot bigger and a lot stronger in the next few years and I'm pretty damn certain he's just going to get a hell of a lot more violent and a lot more dangerous as he grows. I don't feel like being on the receiving end of a mass murder rampage 5 years from now from this kid when he legally becomes an adult and is running around gunning people down with some machine gun he gets illegally off of someone. Just lock him up permanently.

Wii U has Nintendo Land. Probably the last best multiplayer couch gaming we shall ever experience.

While I stated earlier to get a Xbox One (post # 6), there is one exception where I would recommend the Wii U over the Xbox One: if the Wii U games that are guaranteed to stay exclusive and not get ported to the Switch (anything that heavily uses the Wii U gamepad, like Nintendo Land, Game & Wario, Wii Party U, etc, etc) strongly appeal to you AND you have people that can do local couch multiplayer with you for those games. For example, Nintendo Land is TONS of fun... if you have someone to play with. If not, the game is just okay. But with others (which the game is designed best for couch multiplayer) the game is a HUGE amount of fun.

There are also some single player games that make great use of the Wii U gamepad. For example, Madden 13 let's you create and literally draw out certain plays, making the game far better. There is a Wii U exclusive called Affordable Space Adventures on the digital eshop which is NEVER going to be ported to the Switch since that game makes very heavy use of the gamepad and it's a damn great game. There are some other games that make heavy use of the gamepad.

IF the gamepad heavy games sound appealing, then getting the Wii U is worth it. If not, IGNORE the Wii U (for the reasons I listed in post # 6), get the Xbox One instead (for the reasons I listed in post # 6), and save up money and get a Switch in the future (which can be messed around to do certain things that the TC wants to do with a Wii U, if you know what I mean).

I own both a Wii U and a Xbox One (as well as a Playstation 4).
If I had to choose between a Wii U and a Xbox One, I would STRONGLY choose the Xbox One.
Here is the thing: I love my Wii U, but for fuck's sake, NINE of the once exclusive games for the system have already been ported to the Switch and I guarantee you more Wii U games will be ported to the Switch in the future.
Don't get the Wii U, save up for a Switch in the future instead if you want Nintendo games.

As for the Xbox One, it's a very good system.
Now granted, with the exception of Halo 5, all of it's console exclusives are available on PC. However, a lot of people can't afford a current gen gaming PC, so buying a Xbox One for only $150 is a cheaper alternative that gives you access to TONS of Xbox One console exclusives that can't be found on any other console.
You can get Xbox One console exclusives like Sunset Overdrive (which I strongly recommend), Halo 5, Gears of War 4 and 5, Killer Instinct, Forza Horizon 3, Ori 2 (there is an exclusive sequel to Ori coming out February 2020), State of Decay 2, Quantum Break, Ryse, Recore, Dead Rising 3, and many more.
So get the Xbox One (which also is backwards compatible with SOME Xbox 360 games)

I feel the mom is 100% correct.
Looking at that picture of that adopted daughter in the opening post.... I strongly feel that's NOT an 11 year old. If you look at her arms, she has arms that people with Dwarfism would have. Also, the face, while it looks young, if you pay close attention to some of the facial features (especially the teeth) they match characteristics found in someone who is older than 11. I believe the mom when she says that's really a 22 year old psychopath pretending to be a kid.

She's actually MORE than $2,000... that just her STARTING price. She might be closer to $4,000 when all said and done. An entire day with her is $20,000. She makes about $500,000 minimum per year (about $30,000 to $80,000 per month, depending on how her month is going), so she is making money, and it's all legal since she operates in certain places in Nevada where what she does is legal.
I saw a documentary where she was featured and she's basically a vicious 4 foot 8 business shark when it comes to money. LOL.

In my Junior year English class we were supposed to do something one semester (like 10 hours or ... 16? I don't remember), but the grading system was broken so I wound up still getting a C even without doing it and the teacher never questioned it.

@Hexenherz

I had an experience like this. Long story short, I was required to do "volunteer" work for a high school class. However, I didn't know how to drive at the time in order to get to any of the "volunteer" places (where those places really should have been hiring actual workers and paying them, but got high school kids instead to do "volunteer" work they didn't need to pay them for) and my parents couldn't drive me to where I had to go and walking was out of the question since I was in the middle of nowhere and I couldn't get a ride from anyone else. The teacher was an asshole and didn't want to hear excuses. So rather than risk walking through a forest environment for hours where either a bear or snake might attack me or illegally take one of my parents cars and do a real life version of Grand Theft Auto (most likely hitting and crashing into who knows what since my only driving experience at the time was Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on Playstation 2), I just took the hit of points being taken off my grade. I was lucky enough to get a "B -" since I scored extremely high on all the tests, but sadly lost a shit load of points because I couldn't complete the "volunteer" hours. There were a few others that took the same hit and ended up with a "C" grade because they were in a similar situation as me.

It's the ADVICE board... that place is filled with some of the lowest trolls on Gamefaqs.
The scary part is that a lot of people have no knowledge of that and go to the advice board seeking actual advice. In reality, the majority of the regulars on that board are a bunch of egotistical trolls who just insult and troll the people seeking advice. Yes, there is the occasional topic where good advice gets given out, but the majority of the board is just one giant troll attack upon anyone seeking advice.
It's also not helping that there are another set of trolls who make up topics on the advice board for trolling purposes, which just results in troll on troll attacks (making it very uncomfortable for people who have the misfortune of going to that board seeking legit advice).
Honestly, Gamefaqs should just close down that entire Advice board. It's more of a liability than anything else.

You said troll eight times in that one post.

I just... wow.

Spend one week on the advice board asking for advice on various things. You'll see what I mean (and you'll understand the two meltdowns that occurred in that topic that just got closed down).

Which is exactly the reason the advice board should get shut down.
It's a legal liability for this site. As you said, A LOT of the trolls on that advice board LOVE kicking the living shit out of people who are down on their luck who come to that board seeking advice. All it takes is for just one of the trolls to set off someone who is on the verge of suicide who is seeking advice on that board and you have a potential insane situation waiting to happen.

Not everyone on 4chan is like that psychopath that just murdered that girl. And no, the website known as 4chan should NOT shut down. About a year or two or so ago, here on Gamefaqs, there were two users from the Random Insanity board here on Gamefaqs (one female and one male user) who murdered and were found guilty. Is all of Gamefaqs like them? No. Should CBS shut us down? No. An entire community should not be punished for the crimes of the few.
