No - you're handing over the stock directly to whoever he wants it handed over towards. The difference is that they'll be taxed much higher when they sell the stock than your average person who bought their own stock or earned their ownership of stock.

There is no where the government is seizing any property or taking a stake.

The most confusing situations will be when there is a handover of a privately owned business like you had mentioned earlier and there should be a caveat for that depending on valuation of that company. Other than that, this is about people earning the money that they have. There's a significant amount of inequality simply because of the wealth that's handed over from generation to generation. Those people who earn the money can still spend it on themselves (prior to death) and their families indirectly throughout.

Still ignoring the fact you're completely stripping away a person's rights to decide what happens with their own possession.

Why exactly should the government be so entitled to everything a person owns?

You're also still ignoring the MASSIVE loophole, which everybody with 2 brain cells will do, and that's liquidate all their assets before they die and allocate them as they wish (as it should be).

Most privately owned "large" companies are owned by institutions and not individuals. In the case of a small to medium sized business, there would be a caveat for them to be able to be handed down to family members depending on the valuation of the company. I mentioned something regarding this when someone had asked about small businesses such as farms that tend to be handed down from family members.

Publically traded doesn't mean there's no owner.
Anyone who owns 51% of the shares is the owner... no matter how you cut this, your just handing over everything people worked their whole lives for over to the government.

I don't see any reasonable arguement as to why you think people don't have the rights to decide what happens with their own possessions.

It's not about people being entitled to an inheritance, it's about the people who have actually earned their estate having a say so in what happens to it.
