As far as the cast goes, it's actually not THAT bad. Sure, there are some bigger names missing, but MOST of this cast feel like they deserve to be part of an All-Stars season, either because of how well they did the first time around, their legacy, or just a sense of seeing how they'd do a second time.

The only person I think probably shouldn't be in this cast based solely on their existing legacy...is Bayleigh.

People like Kaysar/Da'Vonne, even with their double early boots, are at least two-time players and have a multi-season legacy. And David got royally fucked last season and at least deserves a second chance to actually play the game. Bayleigh's the odd one out to me.

I mean, for a live premiere, it was a shitshow.

And you're kinda right that it was really unbalanced in favor of the comp beast guys (not necessarily that they'd win over Kevin/Ian, which they didn't, but that they had better odds of being in the more physical round two.) Both sets of women had to navigate their mazes to the very bottom rooms (when the board didn't have a bottom wall), while the guys just had to get to a middle room with a wall stopping the ball from falling off the board.

I may also be bitter that one of only two players I didn't want to see win HoH in week 1...won HoH in week 1.

Just finished rewatching season 2.

It's amazing how almost EVERY episode from Blind Bandit through the finale are amazing.

The only one I think was less than ideal was "The Earth King", and even that has an awesome ending to set up the two-part finale.

To me, it seems simple.

Trump has repeatedly been shown to throw his allies, and people who has otherwise tanked their careers in order to defend him, under the bus in order to distance himself from any potential fallout from their capture and arrest or whatever. The original post is finding it humorous that anyone would instinctively believe that Trump will feel a sense of loyalty towards them, given how sparse his displays of overt loyalty have been. How many times have there been statements of "I never knew him" from Trump, when someone in his circle was busted for crimes? That's what that first post is referring to.

Meanwhile, LotM's post finds it disgusting that the president has the authority to commute the sentence of a person convicted of crimes that directly benefited said president. Yeah, the president has that authority, but it's still a fucked up perversion of justice.

While I won't deny that there is very little Trump could do that would not result in him being maligned by this board--which, mind you, is not a result of Trump Derangement Syndrome, but rather the fact that he is an openly stupid and malignant asshole who has proven time and time again to be incapable of basic human decency unless it somehow benefits him to demonstrate it--but the thing Corrik is missing in this whole argument is that, while the two statements are contradictory on paper, they're also referring to two different subjects.

The first post is critical of Trump's toadies and lackies who have been consistently thrown under the bus by Trump, and it's basically calling them morons for believing themselves the chosen few to whom Trump will demonstrate his benevolence. Yeah, it's calling Trump disloyal, but for every Roger Stone, there are a dozen or more randos who he distances himself from the second they get into hot water.

The second post is critical of Trump himself for abusing the power of his office. Thus, two different criticisms for two different subjects.

I'm about halfway through a rewatch, and one of the things I love is how the writers deal with Azula.

She's built up to be this unstoppable, prodigy badass, and the show follows through with that. She's appeared three times thus far, and not once has the show undermined her skill by jobbing her out. Zuko/Iroh have to run away after struggling to beat her in a handicap match. The Gaang runs away when facing her trio in Omashu. And then in The Chase, it takes a six-on-one advantage to fight her to a draw, which she escapes from. It's just really good writing compared to how the writers did Zhao in season 1, losing to Zuko very early in the season and always being a jobber who just kept upward advancement from that moment on.
