Bill Gates has been obviously evil since he started Microsoft by stealing from everyone. Then again when he tried to make a monopoly and run everyone else out of business.

And then again when Windows is now refusing the ability/choice to stop updates and automatically gathers and sells as much personal info as they can from any and all users.

Not to mention even his game system, XBox One tried to basically be spyware and have/need constant internet connection with the camera/kinect never turning off. Not to mention the inability to share games.

Bill Gates is evil and terrible in his OWN field. Why would we trust him with medicine (especially given some of his quotes and his history and his familiy's history).

Surely you can see that comparing six months of flu cases and three months of Covid 19 cases is going to lead to figures that cant be compared.

Dude you dont need to announce to the world that you have no idea what youre talking about

The flu would not kill millions of Americans without a lockdown and quarantine. Covid19 would.
No it wouldn't, not by current rates. If you use New York and compare deaths to population, the rate is hilariously low. Nowhere near millions would die if you take New York's numbers.

https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/new-york-coronavirus-cases-updates.html

Population of 19 million
1,940 deaths

.01 % rate.

At that rate, if 320 million people live in the US, then 32,000 die roughly.

I feel like they should have tried to isolate the old and at risk as much as they could. Young people continue working to support the economy. Then have all stores offer "senior only" hours for the first couple hours each day or so to further minimize their risk. Eventually the virus will spread and more and more (young) people will hopefully gain some degree of immunity.

If this is just like the flu though (in that it's going to have multiple strains and be seasonal) it's pretty fucked to even be doing these lockdowns at all. There's not really anything we can do, just let nature take its course.
This, basically.

It's a valid comparison. Because the flu is similar, it's a widespread disease with similar symptoms and little to no death rate when healthy people have it. And it hasn't caused shutdowns. So far, nothing Corona's done has warranted a shutdown.

Millions of deaths and overwhelming the healthcare system for god knows how long is a far worse outcome for the economy than a temporary shutdown. Sorry, I'm gonna believe the health experts warning that this is much deadlier than the flu, then some goob on gamefaqs.
That's not even a possibility though. We don't have that many susceptible people for this to happen at the percentage it's happening at.

Also, no it's not. The economy is almost shutting down completely because of this. Millions of death wouldn't have nearly the impact.

CM_Ponch posted...
It's literally overloading our hospital system with the quarantine. If we don't lockdown we're just sending people to their deaths. There is no room in hospitals for accidents or injuries or other diseases.

Funny I'd say the opposite is the issue. Taking something so serious that we purposely tanked our economy. That...defeats the purpose of the shutdown in the first place.

At least if the disease did more, it'd make sense. But as of now it is very similar to the flu.
