Surprised you didn't mention FF13 in that writeup and whether or not it had more reason to be in there instead given that game got two sequels. Speaking of which, I personally would've preferred FF13 in the bracket over a game that launched so badly the developers apologized for it and rereleased a new version a year or two later which began with the old world being destroyed or something along those lines. And I didn't exactly love FF13, myself.

With tv show intros, I remember there was a nomination topic for a similar project, but that was so long ago that it's probably not happening anymore.

Real life stuff plus a nagging injury has got in the way of me making progress on the project. I still intend for it for happen in the future but I can't guarantee it will definitely happen now.

I would've refused the sig/nomination requirement had COVID 19 won and I'm sure I wouldn't have been the only one. It's obvious that was an alt/troll account by someone (who likely had already entered the guru by their usual name) who thought they were being funny by doing so and this is supported by the fact that they disappeared once the contest actually started.

Nah, Melee is still the strongest Smash game. At least, indirectly (and I wouldn't pick Ultimate over it). Has a more dedicated/hardcore following, rally potential and is capable to beating FF7 and Chrono Trigger.

Ultimate is getting SFF'ed badly, but there's only so much SFF I can take until I start to wonder how strong it actually is. What would it get against Mario 3, Metal Gear Solid, or Super Metroid?

Bottom tier.

Bad controls/handling plus the fact that the game refuses to let you progress if you don't finish in a good enough position takes any fun I would have had out of the way. For as much flak the latter Mario Karts get, they at least control well enough to where I'm not just wrestling with the game AND the rubberband AI.

An artist that is capable of actually putting out occassional good tracks or unique themes, something which should be expected for WWE to find as they are a global company with the money to get that. It depends on how you would define "video game series". Depending on the definition, I could easily just say Mario and not only still play all the classic 2D/3D platformer titles, but also stuff like Mario Kart, Mario Party, and the RPG's. I'm assuming spin-off series are their own separate thing, though. Since you never mentioned any rule in regards to "watching video games", I could just easily make my decision on "which great video game series would I still want to play that I wouldn't get enough satisfaction from watching a playthrough?". So stuff like Persona and Final Fantasy I could just want on Youtube and still enjoy the story and characters.

1) Do you actually care about the news in the first place? How much info do you want on what's happening in the world? (keeping in mind the more stuff I report on the slower this is gonna go, and this is a big freakin' game world)
Yes, I like seeing how game worlds are developing. As for how much info, pretty much everything outside of non-exclusive contracts signings, minor injuries and minor company/B-Show results. Big contract signings, notable injuries and Major company results (or at least the grade/main event) should still be listed.

2) Are there any particular companies, people, or types of stories (like title changes, or companies changing size) to which you want me to pay particular attention?
Companies going bust or going up/down in size, notably interesting developments (scandals, workers going into politics/movies), and anyone attempting to sign one of your own guys.

3) We're gonna need some extra dudes. Pick one off the Hidden Gems list:
Sho probably would work best, but Miles Edgeworth because the two characters named Miles need to interact.

The new UI is seriously flawed and I cannot imagine any new player being able to hop in and not be overwhelmed. Just to give two examples, some of the text is too small to read easily and having a block of 12-20 exact-looking buttons together in the office and profile screens makes it difficult to find things, they really needed to be colour coded into sections. It results in making playing the game more challenging than it should be and that's not a good thing.

Personally, I think they should delay the retail release by a month to fix up the game cosmetically because as it stands, TEW2016 looks SO MUCH better despite the extra window navigation and therefore plays better.

So this morning was the first time I went out to one of the big supermarket stores (or any store for that matter) since almost five weeks ago (the weekend before lockdown over here). I usually just let my other family relatives that I live with get the shopping. Two things I'd noticed when shopping were that almost all the isles/shelves were stocked outside of some essentials (pasta) and certain medical supplies (paracetomal), which still had a few items left. Also, there wasn't any queue at the entrance and just a small one for the checkout tils since I went early. I also only saw one or two people with face masks.

Has it been mentioned yet that this is (I believe) the first contest nothing Final Fantasy related won their division, as well as the first time nothing FF related made it to Round 4 of a contest? That really goes to show how badly Square Enix has messed up the series this past decade.

Jak has never looked strong. The 2013 match isn't a good match to judge his strength since he was up against 2 fodder characters prior to the rally. Chances are X and Ryu would've destroyed Jak in Round 2.

Crash has come back around largely thanks to the remakes of the original games, but he still was able to look decent back in 2013 despite the last real Crash game prior to the revival being released way back in 2008.
