136 was also really good! I love Killua's and surprisingly Knov's resolve to save Gon. The part with the two ants in the NGL was cute. And Kite might be alive kinda???

Finished Episode 135... well how about that! Now that's quite a way to end a shonen arc, that's for sure. I'm a bit at a loss for what to say. It was a heartfelt, bittersweet, emotional ending... unfortunately the LP (Leorio Percentage) of this arc is quite low, and for that alone I have to rank it the worst HxH arc ever.

I actually really love Pitou which is kind of why it was so impactful to me. They spend that time building up to making Pitou more human and Gon more monstrous (If you try to delay us again, I'll kill that girl), and ends with Pitou sacrificing her life for what she believes is saving the one most important for her, and Gon sacrificing his humanity to kill.

The most important moment of it all to me is Gon's threat to kill Komugi, and then you think back to Gon on the ground, screaming at Chrollo, frustrated at how Chrollo could hurt people he doesn't even know.

That is all true, I agree. Except for the part about loving Pitou. When I say she sucks, I mean as person (well, you know what I mean). She's an interesting enough character,

That's probably going to be one of my favorite episodes of the show. I so happy Gon's transformation lived up to the hype, and I think Pitou kinda sucks so them getting just completely flattened was so satisfying.

Episode 131.... oh my God.... well, I wanted a Gon transformation, and I got one. This whole episode, that whole fight was so insane. I don't even know where to begin. The animation on Gon when he was first transforming has incredible and haunting. To think that that weird happy kid with a fishing pole turns into this... I nearly can't believe it even after having seen it. The fight with Pitou was great specifically because how it wasn't really a fight at all. A complete one-sided beatdown... so I guess this is the Reverse Super Saiyan thing I've heard about. Gon channels his future aura to fight Pitou, a one-time power up with what I can only assume is an immense drawback. I don't if Gon will die after this episode or not, I honestly can't tell what will happen next.

Episode 127:

Wow, they're really trying to get me to believe Meruem is dead... think I'm stupid or something? No way I'm believing that. That "body" is either a cocoon or a weird statue or he shed his skin or something. No matter how awesome it would be that he actually did die there, I'm not falling for it!

It is really interesting to see this intense, almost cold-blooded side of Gon. This is not something we've seen before, but of course none of Gon's friends were ever in the condition that Kite was. This kind of anger, I suppose, is exactly what I imagine would be needed to get Gon transform like he does. Soon, I think it's going to happen soon....

I think a lot of the encounters in the later half of this arc have been great, but this one was particularly amazing. I think Chimera Ant will easily be my favorite HxH arc if it sticks the landing. Yeah sure the training section in the middle sorta sucked, but theres been a lot of good before and after that.

Episode 126.... wow. This fight between the king and Netero had some great animation. At times beautiful and horrifying. I got some Junji Ito vibes from some of the scenes there. The only thing that dampens this is that obviously Meruem survives all of that, perhaps with a "heh, nice one gramps" line.

I wouldn't even know where to start guessing, besides like maybe guessing that the 3 royal guards will die (I could actually see Yupei surviving, or even see him and Pouf fighting). I feel like everything else is so up in the air, it's almost like anything is possible still.
