First, there are some that own up significantly better than we do. Germany owns up to their dark past in a far more real way. They gave reparations to Holocaust victims and are still doing so, have omnipresent memorials, ban the type of party that led them to oppress people, learn about the Holocaust thoroughly in schools etc. Meanwhile here, people are still taught that the Civil War was about states rights, people have extreme blind spots in their knowledge of history that leads to ignorance about things like the Tulsa Massacre, 1927 Mississippi Floods, redlining, and countless other issues. The holocaust being one of the single worst atrocitys of all time that the world knows and will never forget is likely why Germany handled it the way they did. Meanwhile how many other countrys acknowledge their history of slavery? Or the numerous other sins of their past?

In regards to the confederacy the only reason they still exist is becuase....
*They had a timeless symbol(the confederate flag)
* For better or for worse(depending on perspectives)The north didnt wipe them out completely, both in lives, and the history books.

That's not even talking about how people don't acknowledge what's going on today. How the exact same population that's was targeted for slavery, KKK terrorism, lynchings, sharecropping, and Jim Crow is now the victim of the War on Drugs and Mass Incarceration. The same country that has always prioritized having some way of controlling the black population now has huge number of black people in prison and will send 1/4 black men to prison in their lifetime, and people seriously believe that's unrelated to all of the previous forms of oppression.

There......can be a myriad of reasons for it though so even if people acknowledge it they may not come the same conclusion as you. Their feelings toward criminals may also be a factor. Some have sympathy while others have zero tolerance.

The US is one of the only countrys that owns up to its dark past unlike most others despite being guilty of the same. And taking a few days off every year to enjoy everything we've accomplished and changed uptil now isnt going to undo, slow or undermine anything.

Which is why in my opinion people like Kaepernick are just kill joys looking for every excuse they can to hate on the country, spread negativity and do everything they can to make others feel, and do the same.

The thing is that we'd never get to the point of intelligence to be able to thrive in the first place. Like, yes, clearly the intelligence meta is the best, but we took tens of millions of years just to get to the earliest apes, and that was only with big dinos out of the way, and new flora branching out.

No one knows this for sure. And there are countless species already who thrive still surrounded by predators so this assumption that humanitys evolution would have peaked at some point becuase of dinos is unlikely.

The environment has changed numerous times throughout history with or without human intervention. Some areas grew a little hotter, or colder, turned into deserts, some tundras, some frozen, some were flooded, and many others flat out destroyed. But humans regardless still managed to adapt, evolve, and survive in everyone of them.

That isn't to say I support reparations.

Not as bad as it is in urban areas now, due to the lack of space, and building restrictions in most citys. Now that more people can work from jome traffic in the citys will decline, population size, demand and subsequently cost.

Also in regards reparations and lottery winnings you can edit the latter to whatever the reparation pay will be and the end result is the same.

But regardless, ultimately people waiting for others to save them in life rather then save themselves never get far. It's one of lifes great filters in a way.

It's hard to say, the strongest species isnt always the biggest or strongest but the ones able to best adapt. So likely humans or whatever we were then would have thrived and survived regardless.

I mean, banding together I cant think of very many creatures even back in the prehistoric ages that humans couldnt either kill, defend against, or simply avoid once we learned to harness fire and utilize sharp objects.

I thought about it, but I think this is the worst possible time with the stock market artificially propped up. Buying in when it dropped to 18,000 was clutch, although because I was spending most of my money paying off my debt, I wasn't able to get much but I still made a profit.

If you're investing longterm there really isnt a bad time so long as youre choosing strong, healthy company with further growth potential. Apple, Microsoft, Walmart, Amazon, Disney and Netflix are easy examples off the top of my head.

I've noticed they've been packing their store with more and more merchandise as well in recent years and it seems to be paying off.

Most mainstrean retailers sell video games which puts them in direct competition with gamestop but not collectable merchandise for the most part. Like cards, anime, and comicbook figures. So if they can get a foothold on that niche it could become their savior.

Nope manuals are getting phased out. The only way to learn is to buy one and teach yourself or have a family or friend teach you in their car.

Yes, when training to get my CDL. But I was terrible at it. Never got the rhythm down like most of the others did and almost failed becuase of it. Thankfully auto are if not almost completely phased out of most major trucking companys now.

It's a theory of them utilizing time shenanigans introduced in rebels to create a alternate timeline to the ST. Where they can keep, edit, and remove anything they wanted. Effectively retconing the ST.

So for instance in the new canon timeline they could make it so Luke successfully rebuilt the Jedi order. Brought about a new generation of Jedi and with it a wealth of creative and story ideas set during that era.

Reintroducing all the ST characters and properly develop them. Etc.

I was thinking of moving to Utah. The cost of living and housing cost in many parts arent crazy, it's a outdoor state with numerous activities to match. The geography is gorgeous and they get all 4 seasons.

Perfect weather for most days like in CA in nice but gets somewhat repetitive and old in my opinion.

The protest currently seem to be centered almost entirely around crinimal rights. Which is important, dont get me wrong. But helping black youths before they reach that point should be of a greater priority.
