Whenever there are large scale protest there are going to be people who use that opportunity to break things and steal stuff. It is unfortunate. You don't have to like it. It would be nice if it didn't happen.

Do you know what would be a good way for it not to happen? Stop having any things that need to be protested. People should be rightfully pissed about George Floyd. People should be protesting. If that means that some of the unfortunate side-effects of protesting are gonna pop up, that's too bad, but it doesn't invalidate the need for the protest or the reason behind it.

Again, I assure you that Coty had extensive due diligence procedures before the purchase, not the least of which includes a financial statement audit. They would have known all the actual size of the company and the last several years of revenue and bought it anyway.

Dude, she's being accused of inflating her financial records to prop up her brand to be bigger than it really was which lead to a company to buy 51% of her shares thinking it was worth more than it really was. If true, the Khardashians basically did a pump and dump on that company. Pretty sure she can be charged for fraud.
Yeah, nobody is buying a controlling interest in a company over a Forbes list. Acquisitions involve extensive due diligence procedures. Nobody of importance was being fooled.

Never a big fan of Butterfree though as it just isn't a very good Pokemon and you can find a lot of other Pokemon to do the same role much better without a ton of additional effort.

As pure gaming machines they are underpowered and overpriced, but there is something to be said about portability.

I had one in college and that worked fine. If I wanted to go play in someone else's dorm room, apartment, or house it was easy. If I wanted to play in the living room or my bedroom or wherever, I easily had that option.

Now, I don't need that same mobility, so I have a much nicer desktop.

Scorpio vs Spike, Reptile vs Toad, Sub Zero vs Ice Man, etc....add in Xavier or Jean and they're dead even Magneto could kill them all assuming he has metal.
Ice Man vs Sub-Zero would be a non fight. You can't hurt Bobby with ice. Hell, when in ice form, it is hard to hurt Bobby at all, with anything.

Same concept in comparing Kano vs Cyclops eye beams. Scott levels giant robots and is capable of making absurd bank shots, so he is very hard to dodge.

Reptile would beat Toad though and Scorpion would probably beat Spyke. Though Spyke isn't like a real X-Men character, Evolution just wanted a friendlier version of Marrow.

I mean if you want to justify it with "we don't pay them but another company does so unpaid internships are okay because they get paid but we don't pay them even though another company does pay them" sure go nuts
What he is saying is that unpaid internships inherently favor the more affluent because they can afford to not work for the summer. His organization does not does not accept unpaid internships because of that. However because there is a limited amount of public funds dedicated to sponsoring these students, there are very few internship opportunities. Furthermore, the act of securing these funds for the internship often are easier for more well-connected and affluent people. So the end result is that there are fewer opportunities and those few opportunities are going to affluent people. If they allowed unpaid internships there would be more opportunity for more students.

I have mixed opinions on them. The company my mom works for literally can't afford interns. But it is also in an industry with limited opportunities and where people looking to get into it are expected to have internships (sports marketing). So the options are either her company does no internships or unpaid ones. They end up turning down a dozen internship applications a year, despite them being unpaid. Because unpaid interns still cost money.

Now company's that can afford interns, but don't pay them can fuck right off.

They aren't completely disjoint (it would be hard for a person below the poverty line to meet most people's criteria for "classy" because there are some inherent expenditures in there that would be out of reach), but yeah exactly.

Classy is a way of behaving. Some one of little means could be perfectly classy by being polite and respectful to others, by taking care of what they have and being responsible.

Indeed. It is professional suicide to burn the bridges at that point in time since realistically they won't be able to recruit someone to replace you for that very short timeframe so your colleagues will end up shouldering it.

I'm not familiar with what EBP is (we don't use that acronym here) but it doesn't surprise me - I actually enjoyed being a senior the most as that was the time I used to really get into the detail and had the time to do so. Manager is probably the worst level in terms of expectations/pressures and risk of someone else's mistake becoming your issue.

(edit just saw your signature saying Gheb is alt)
EBP are employee benefit plans. I can't imagine you would do many at Big 4 level but they are very common summer work at my firm (though I personally think we have largely outgrown them). They are boring, low-revenue compliance audits and just no fun at all.

And yeah my account varies depending on what device I'm using.

I've been with the same public accounting firm for the last six years. I got burned out last fall but leaving during busy season (Jan-April) is professional suicide so I've stuck it out the last 4 months.

Now I'm accepting the job to be a controller at a company. The benefits are worse but the pay is better and I'll have much better work life balance. I'll also be working remotely full-time so that will be interesting.

I'm more nervous about leaving my current job than starting a new one. I have a lot of good friends here and me leaving is gonna kneecap some of their summer schedules. But I gotta put me first. They'll understand.

Your still very much in the short term. The theaters aren't worried about Universal releasing stuff like Trolls or Disney releasing Artemis Fowl during the pandemic. They are worried about Universal having movies go demand simultaneously with theater launches after things start to open up. That is what Universal has been opening stating and that is what AMC is trying to kill.

They wouldn't risk a F&F movie right now. Those movies are produced with the idea that they will go wide in release in as many screens as possible.

Trolls was a low risk release. That was already a movie that was going to have a higher percentage of demand revenue relative to theater revenue. But real blockbusters not debuting on two of the big 3 theater chains...I'm not sure Universal would risk it.

What Universal needs is allies. If they could get another studio (like Disney) to also back simultaneous demand releases their leverage goes back up.

I guarantee right now AMC and Regal are trying to get Cinemark on board with their ban.
