Bottoms issued an order on Friday evening that says Atlanta will return to Phase 1, effective immediately, "in response to the alarming increase" in cases. The city was previously in Phase 2.

"Based upon the surge of COVID-19 cases and other data trends, pursuant to the recommendations of our Reopening Advisory Committee, Atlanta will return to Phase I of our reopening plan," the mayor said in a press release. "Georgia reopened in a reckless manner and the people of our city and state are suffering the consequences."

Earlier this week, Bottoms announced that she had tested positive for COVID-19, but showed no symptoms.

As part of Phase 1, individuals are required to stay home except for essential trips and wear a face mask in public. The order also prohibits gatherings of any kind on city property.

Following the announcement, Governor Brian Kemp criticized Bottoms' decision and said it was "legally unenforceable."

"Atlanta Mayor @KeishaBottoms' action today is merely guidance - both non-binding and legally unenforceable," Kemp tweeted. "As clearly stated in my executive orders, no local action can be more or less restrictive, and that rule applies statewide."

"If the Mayor actually wants to flatten the curve in Atlanta, she should start enforcing state restrictions, which she has failed to do," he continued.

Actually enforcing a nationwide mask mandate is a little bit trickier, because there's no real constitutional basis for it.

You have to look into it. Just like the stories I share because there are people who are hired to do this type of disinformation. Im not saying its not true. Many people passed away but they are controlling the narrative and Covid is not the only factor at play. We have to consider 5G, chemtrails. The radiation from our phones, radiation from our homes and electric devices, the air pollution. etc. Look up 5G alone and chemtrails. It all works together. And if you want to blame anyone; people like Andrew Cuomo who set up EVERY nursing home to fail by making them all stay there and spread the virus to the people they lived with. Trump doesn't control every micro decision in each state, bud. If you want to blame Trump; fine...but lets involve the 50 governors, too.

Or when they said not to wear masks before immediately telling everyone to wear masks.

Or when they said to socially distance to save the most vulnerable when they were packing coronavirus patients into nursing homes.

Or when they said to wear masks despite cases already having been dropping for weeks prior after restrictions began lifting.

Or when they said that the economy will bounce back so don't worry about losing your business/job due to lockdowns.

Ok so -
1) Who said it wasn't human transmissable?
2) Who were the "coronavirus patients" that were "packed into nursing homes" If you mean people already there, obviously there are exceptions to socially distancing

Anyone can make a mask out of household materials. Meanwhile, all the essential workers in grocery stores and such were inadvertently spreading the virus (potentially). Even a simple cloth could at least cover up people's sneezes/coughs at least.

Ok so two points-
1) Do you understand why the recommendation was NOT "don't wear masks" as much as "there isn't as great a need for everyday people as for healthcare professionals since we don't have that many"?
2) You are right - grocery store workers should, and they WERE wearing them. Along with fast food workers etc. Do you have a reason to believe a lot weren't?
