FFVI is basically Missables: The Game, and I wouldn't change that to be honest. Finding all the missables (or the ideal combination of missables) is a game in itself. It's also nice when you discover something new.

Those chests that change throughout the game if you don't open them can fuck off though. They're annoying to keep track of.

They'll age, but more slowly I suspect, due to dimishing returns. PS1 -> PS3 will be more impressive than PS3 -> PS5 probably.

There's still plenty of room for improvement though (particularly in lighting, physics, etc.), but it'll be a bit harder to take advantage of.

If anything, politics is even more important at a time like this. It'd be naive to think that the powers-that-be are making completely apolitical decisions (life-or-death decisions at that) right now. Yet the plebs should just sit down and shut up and not 'ploticize' things?
TopicWhat's a game that you, personally, would want to remake?

Deus Ex.

A proper remake would require significant changes and run the risk of losing what made the original so great, but I think it would be worth a try. There are obvious improvements to make, even aside from the basics like graphics and AI, especially towards the end of the game where there's a noticeable dip in quality.

Human Revolution and Mankind Divided outline a good template, although there are one or two things I'm not a fan of, like the automatic takedowns. Maybe Cyberpunk 2077 will show us how to do first-person melee combat.

I don't really see the purpose personally. Just tax higher earners more across the board (or don't, if you believe it discourages innovation). I'm not sure the extra bureaucracy is worth it.

If the issue is inheritance, then there are more direct ways to deal with that of course (e.g. inheritance tax).

You can't really put a number on it because it clearly depends on other factors, particularly the virulence and number infected. Ebola had a high mortality rate but didn't infect too many.

1% of 3 billion people would be 'high' to me (duh). 90% of 10k would be comparatively low, but obviously terrible for those affected.

If *this* virus were left unchecked, I think 1% would be high. Even 0.1% would be awful really.

It's not going to be left unchecked of course, so that's kinda moot. Are the measures being taken in some countries a step too far? It's hard to say without a crystal ball, but certainly something has to be done, as Italy can attest to.

Depends also on pacing, dialog, minigames, etc too. This is one thing FF7 excelled at. I actually like puzzles in JRPGs... for the most part. I'm not usually a fan of dungeons with nothing but battles, unless the battle system is *really* good.

The worst "puzzles" are probably like those in Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, e.g. floor puzzles where you end up falling in to a maze-like area if you make a wrong move (I still love the game though). Block puzzles, sliding puzzles, etc. I don't mind, especially if there aren't any random battles (Lufia II, Tales of Symphonia).

I can't mention Nocturne without also mentioning the Puzzle Boy:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=943QWJtMYNY

It's cool up to a certain point, then the difficulty ramps up. At least it's optional (unless you want all the Magatama, which I did).
