I literally just listened to two family members (the classic boomer vs. zoomer matchup) go at each other's throats over "black lives matter" vs. "all lives matter". They had been talking for a while and they were agreeing on every topic from racism to police brutality. But as soon as boomer said the words "all lives matter" it instantly turned into a shit show.

It's fucking stupid that people can agree on every single issue, but something as simple as a catchphrase can completely derail the conversation.

Most inaccurate statement ever.

Most of my guys friends and myself have each gotten a few good looking girls IRL over the years. But we can't get jack shit on Tinder. The very few girls who actually agreed to meet up with us through Tinder were ugly or fat and did a good job of hiding it on the app.

Real life is where it's at.

This tbh. The girlfriends I've had are much hotter than any match I could score on tinder.

i've seen a bunch of suggestions for community driven "policing", one idea was something like the black panthers

the biggest problem with the us police is it's foundations and it's pervasive culture of racism and brutality supported by the government.

Is every community going to be policed by militias/civilian groups? Because that sounds like corruption and injustice just waiting to happen. But then again, as you pointed out, we get more than enough corruption with public policing. Almost seems like there is no right answer.

I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around this movement. For starters, everyone has a different opinion on what "defunding" means. Some say that it means reform while others are saying it means complete abolishment. It doesn't seem like there is any unified vision for what defunding the police would mean or look like.

Perhaps the most frustrating part of this is that none of these activists seem to propose any realistic alternatives; I've read numerous articles and it seems like they just wanna get rid of the police and be done with it. They simply deflect everything and pin it on the police. Concerned about rapists or murderers running free? Well, the cops are rapists and murderers too! How about this proposal for social workers to respond to mental health calls? Are social workers gonna be trained and armed in case of a mentally unstable individual with a weapon? There's so many questions that need to be answered but all these "defund the police" advocates act like all citizens are peaceful people that wouldn't harm a fly if police/poverty didn't drive them to it.

I'm not saying these people are wrong or right, I'm just saying that abolishing police outright seems like the equivalent of cutting off your head because you suffer from migraines. I'd like to have a serious discussion about the issue but it seems like everybody is unwilling to listen to the other side. I agree that we need to end qualified immunity (immediately) in order to hold officers legally accountable for their actions. Police brutality is a huge issue that has affected my own family too. But getting rid of police altogether? I guess I shouldn't be surprised since it's 2020, but this sounds like an AnCap argument, not a liberal argument.

Griselda is bringing back hard core gangster/drug rap and doing it a high level
Freddie Gibbs has been releasing collab albums that just continue to hit

RTJ and Griselda are good, not great. J Cole is a respectable artist but his music just doesn't click with me. The rest....ehh. I think I like Kendrick better than anybody you listed.

It's not supposed to be reasonable. You either feel the presence of god and believe or you don't

Why can't it be reasonable? There are plenty of scientists/mathematicians/doctors/etc who are either agnostic or hold personal spiritual beliefs of some sort (even if they aren't tied to a specific religion). Simulation theory, for example, sounds awfully close to "God" if you think about the fact that some higher intelligence would've had to program the simulation. Look at quantum mechanics and the many-worlds interpretation. I'm not saying that these things are true, or that spiritual interpretations of these things are true. I'm just saying that it's pretty narrow minded to just dismiss them and call everyone else "unreasonable." Science answers the question of how, not the question of why. Science has nothing to say about anything unless it can be measured with human tools. Just because someone comes to a different conclusion than you doesn't mean they're unreasonable.

But the evidence doesn't currently support a spiritual take. The creator could just as likely be a giant, sadistic dragon that rips you apart limb by limb for all of eternity, no matter how good you are. There are infinite possibilities if you want to go down the unprovable route.

It's not reasonable to believe in. Popular religions always get a pass when it comes to believing in the illogical while everyone else who does it is called wrong, crazy, or stupid.

It's not about man-made religion or what the "creator" is or isn't. It's about spiritual worldviews vs. purely materialistic worldviews.
