I've tried to sell pixel art on etsy, perlers actually a few years ago.

I had a bunch of listings for a good long while, updated pictures, relisted and everything.

Yeah, if you're going to sell online then you need to do a lot of work to build up an online fanbase first. Otherwise your stuff might be great but nobody will ever see it.

I kinda recommend not making any monetary investments (e.g. buying a printer and special print paper) unless you have a fanbase already. That's one reason why commissions are good - there's no investment required on your part, you just make custom sprites of people's OCs (or whatever) for cash.

Good luck! I've never tried selling art but I get the impression it's a pretty crowded field. Around half my Twitter feed does prints/commissions or other merch (redbubble t-shirts, pokeball dioramas, Switch decals, stickers and washi tape, etc).

Like Raka mentioned, custom commissions are probably a good way to start out. You'd want a commission sheet setting out different prices for different things (e.g., character icon, head pic, waist pic, full-body pic). I have no idea the going rate for sprites. I can post pics of other people's comm sheets if you'd find that helpful.

- if she's an overseas student, then it makes sense to discreetly inform her, in case she didn't know and would find it embarrassing and prefer to change it
- if she's Vietnamese-American (which sounds like it's the case here?) then she already knows and he can shut up
- regardless, if she says she wants to keep it (which is definitely the case here) then he can double shut up

Cheap-medium for most things. I don't make an effort to live frugally but I just don't buy stuff that much, and my food tastes are pretty lowbrow (I like fast food burgers and stuff). Also thanks to Steam sales I feel actively bad about paying full price for any game.

Medium for work clothes because I'm picky about what I like, so if I do find something I like, I'm willing to drop e.g. $50 on a shirt that'll last me the next few years. Cheap for casual clothes though.

I'm still working exclusively from home and it's likely to stay that way for a while (my boss is very considerate, she's like "I don't want you taking the train"). Overall, I love it because of schedule flexibility and no long commute. I don't miss anything about the actual office. I do miss incidental stuff like walking around downtown during lunch break.

Exactly this. In the criminal context, there are plenty of wrongful convictions (lots of juries convict on evidence that I personally find sketchy and would never vote to convict) but also 100% guilty people who walk (e.g. proof was found against them but it was suppressed on a technicality). And I don't necessarily have a lot of faith in the average juror, whether civil or criminal.

Though in real life I don't have time/inclination to look up the details of every case. So if I hear "Defendant was found guilty of X" then I would casually presume they did it unless people bring up evidence to the contrary, or the situation is inherently sketchy/improbable.

If defendant was found not guilty, but found civilly liable...I would probably just go "hmm need more info."

If defendant was found not guilty, but settled a civil suit, then I would lean towards thinking they're innocent. Settlement is really a null-tell; maybe they're just throwing money to make the annoyance of court proceedings go away, or because they (understandably) don't want to leave things up to the whims of jurors.

It's weird with Preston, he used to be one of the nicest people around like a decade+ ago.

You could say much about him then too, sure, but he was always pleasant.

Yeah this is what gets me. He was always weird but he was a weird affable guy who would make ranking topics in his word salad and genuinely seemed to enjoy being on the board.

I feel like part of it was he wasn't yet aware that he was weird/an outsider. So maybe skullbone is right that the PPG video (and people's reactions to it) was the tipping point.

That's what I was thinking. If he self-quarantines for 14 days is there even a point to taking a test any more? (Also, can you even get a covid test if you have no symptoms and no known contact with anyone who tested positive? This is an actual question, I know tests were scarce early on but maybe it's improved)

Anyway since this is just a negotiation I'd suggest going with it for 14 days if you can get the time back during the next 14-day period.
