Lol how? He said he was in his mid to late twenties looking at 21 year olds as children. That in itself is just weird, especially in the US where 21 is the drinking age.

The thing is, college aged kids are just in a totally different stage of their life. Like when I was in college I gave no fucks and did whatever I wanted. As someone turning 27 this year, I have a completely different mindset than I did junior year of college.

A little. In high school people gave me a lot of crap for being political. It didn't matter what my views were, it was just that I had an interest in politics and I'd read books I bought about politics in study hall >_>

When I was a cashier at Panera Bread there were these two girls with long hair that looked like skater kids. Only problem is one of them was a girl, and I asked "sir, what can I do for you today?" or something along those lines

She thought it was really funny (started laughing) and didn't say anything but I hope it didn't upset her at all. When you're that young things like that can fuck up your pysche.

The state Democratic party here has a political director, a database manager, a communications person, a legislative liason... A couple more. That's a couple skillsets and credentials they need, but I don't think the degree alone checks many of them.

It sounds like you could get a job as an organizer but that would be pretty low wage. You'd likely be able to be a lead organizer and oversee other organizers eventually and your degree would help with that

I actually have an interview on Saturday to be a Field Organizer with a progressive organization, but it's a temp job

Maybe it's the experience I need, who knows?

I have an MS in Political Science so I was hoping on either working with the Democratic Party or some other political organization, or being an adjunct professor.

Yeah it's going to be impossible to do anything in the field without experience man... It's very competitive. I'm not sure exactly what you're going for in policy or politics but whatever it is is gonna be hard to break into

I mean I've volunteered for some campaigns and I've done a lot of activist work. I've been in student groups too. I tried to find paid campaign jobs as a youngling but no one would hire. I don't even understand where you find jobs like that. I applied to the Warren campaign thinking I was going for a paid job and then got a text message about phone banking a week later >_>
