and yes, that's the goal, most measures are going to stay in place until there's a vaccine, acceptable treatment, or herd immunity

we have data pointing to two of those three. acceptable treatment with anti-malaria drugs and zinc. herd immunity indications from spain and iceland and elsewhere because of weaker mutant strains of the virus.

i support them. the constiuition isn't a light switch to be flipped on and off. we had some reasonable claim to suspend travel and activities at the eve of this virus but not so much anymore. may 1st is the date. businesses also shouldn't be forced closed. this isn't ussr or the ccp. gov doesn't nationalize or own ur right to do business.

"pearl harbor and 9/11 proportions combined of catastrophe" hasn't materialized as of yet. trump says we're actually erring on producing too many ventilators and so on. the anti-malaria drugs are easy and cheap to produce in treatment of the covid virus.

this lockdown shouldn't last longer than may, at max june and that's really pushing it. we open up for business and treat the symptomatic cases as we go along. it's basically downgrading the covid virus to run of the mill influenza and flu viruses we are already very capable of handling.

if we reopen by May the economy will be mostly intact by autumn. trump should activate the fed gov. to open the economy superseding the states if they don't open in May. the state governors can't suspend the constituition indefinitely

how much more monopoly funny money can be printed and thrown into the system without major devaluation to people's savings and pensions and 401ks and so on? 2008's lesson apparently was not learned well enough. a few factors may save us from depression in that this crisis hit almost everywhere in the world roughly at the same time. investors and producers don't have any great options to flee to. and with trump we could see manufacturing come back to the usa away from china. what needs to be done soon, may 1st i reckon, is reopen the economy entirely for the usa. investors abroad will be enticed to come to the usa if we re-open for business before many other countries do.
