I agree, but you won't get much support for that around these parts.

Studios aren't encouraged to make them because people are too dull for thoughtful and challenging stuff, so it doesn't make as much money. It's safer just to slap out some dumb shit than it is to risk it with something that requires the audience to think. Jumanji 2 is easy, Blade Runner 2049 is difficult.

Yep, as much credit as Williams gets, people still don't realize how much he really drives those movies. The space opera feel in ESB just kinda slapped me in the face as a kid and made me start to appreciate the mechanics of filmmaking.

It's disappointing that the new scores were nothing special. I figured we would get good soundtracks if nothing else.
