John Denvers Take Me Home, Country Roads is one of West Virginias four official state songs. But West Virginia isnt John Denvers home, and his co-writer had never even been to the state before he wrote it. Heres how this sometimes loved, sometimes mocked song became an icon of the Mountain State.

Bit of an open ended question and feel free to use whichever metrics you like to determine the success or failure or dealing with the pandemic.

Based on number of deaths it looks like the US is going to be doing the worst out of any country in the entire world . Currently with 68,696 deaths out of 248,655 making up 27% of global deaths despite only having 4.2% of the global population (330,000,000 people out of a global total of 7,800,000,000). Secondly its quite obvious most of the posts on here are tongue in cheek and not to be taken too seriously.

I do agree with some of your points definitely but I feel that considering this is a US site and how much theyve been affected recently not surprising there is a proportion on here that have a negative reaction to people they feel are taking it lightly.

I mean we still have people who genuinely feel its not as bad as the flu still and any lockdown is completely stupid.

They actually patched out a lot of invisible walls in a later update, around the time royal released I think.

Of course that doesn't let you walk anywhere meaningful since they were areas literally behind invisible walls, but it's an improvement.

I wasn't aware of that. I got the game at launch with the DLC pass but didn't stick around long enough to enjoy the DLC as it was spread out so damn thin and then got pissed when they released even more and expected more money for something that probably should have been in the base game.

I'm going off on one now but I think the initial first few hours are great and fairly open but it soon turns into a linear slog. I know one of the criticisms laid at the game is how it was released incomplete but I definitely feel if everything after the opening area was as open world as the first few hours the game would have been received a lot better.

Honestly, probably my only complaint for FF7R is the linearity (which isn't even a major complaint for me, especially knowing that's more or less how the original worked).

FF15 gives you the illusion of being open but it's really not. Driving and Exploration Spoilers (no story):

Cars are pretty much glued to the road and you can't go off road at all (believe endgame this may differ slightly with some DLC) but even if you could there's not much space you can investigate.

When you explore by foot you're very limited to how much of the map you can walk on and there's not really anything of note to explore. Early game area has some more to explore but once you get passed maybe 5 hours it's very linear.

Game is generally a couple of key story locations like towns and the occasional bit of open land etc but it's all connected by roads you can drive down with barriers at the side you can't get over and you can't do not much else with.

7 gets all the praise and rightfully so for being a genre and technological defining breakthrough but 9 is my favourite and I feel like it improves on almost everything 7 bought to the table.

There's a reason 7-9 and arguably 6-10 are considered the Golden Age of Final Fantasy and looked back on so fondly although granted if you're going in with no previous experience or nostalgia your mileage may vary.

Despite being very good games in their own right they do look dated compared to today's games but if you can look past that you should find yourself involved with some amazing games well worth investing some time in.

It's just sped up what was inevitably going to happen anyway. More and more people getting into poverty \ massive debt \ dying to ensure the "majority" survives and life continues as "normal". All we're seeing now is an acceleration of this. I assumed it would be climate change or resource scarcity that would be the catalyst for the acceleration but here we are with the Covid.

Seriously. Can't count the amount of people that say how sad it is people are affected but the "economy" must come first and if a small amount of people suffer it's a price worth paying. Easy to say that when you assume you aren't the one going to suffer.

Does remind me of that old poem. Obviously not in terms of Nazi's but in terms of it's ok because I'm doing ok so fuck everyone else.
