Elaborating on this: The story scenes are usually some form of demon rape (as in the generic enemy girls you fight). The character bond scenes happen at... bond 6 and 20, I think? The first scene is some form of foreplay or oral, while the second is the deflowering scene. Yes, these are all vanilla with the MC. The UR (there's no SSR, just N/R/SR/UR) outfit is where most of the fetishes in the previous post come into play. All of those unlock at level 30, which is practically nothing once you've gotten a decent stockpile of yarn (easy to get from any event). There are more h-scenes nowadays from two modes: Box Events and Tower of Babel. Box events give you a free UR and the end of the event has some scene usually related to the raid boss you fight. This means some of the Nymph enemies and other girls get h-scenes instead of the main twelve. The tower is a 50 floor fight (each floor has three waves) against zombie magical girls, which is basically facing mirror versions of all the dresses. Given that the devs love to make some bullshit teams out of SSR dresses, it's extremely difficult to clear without specific dresses. For example, Phoenix Aka + Wine Kaori is a popular enemy combination (and you always fight four girls per wave, so that's two Phoenixes and two Wines). Phoenix Aka burns anyone she attacks or gets attacked by, doing massive damage to them when she's on the attack. Wine Kaori not only negates debuffs, but turns them into speed boosts. And as you'd expect, Phoenix Aka gets a self-revive. End result, you have two self-reviving debuff-immune girls with a crippling debuff that can two/three-shot your characters if you don't have your own debuff immunity. I personally couldn't finish a single tower until the Steins;Gate collab, because Mayuri and Kurisu are THAT good (and Mayuri being a limited UR means I lucked out hard). Mayuri has partywide debuff immunity and Kurisu has both a speed buff and the Oblivion skill, which lets her bypass Phoenix Aka's self-revive. Anyway, I digress. At the top of the tower, there's a hot spring that lets the girls see a non-vanilla h-scene of themselves. Really. There's a bit more to it, but I'm trying not to spoil the main plot, and clearing the tower in the first place assumes you have some grasp of that already. --- |

Iroha and Kaori are basically the main girls, so they've pretty much gotten the most dresses with the most variety, I think. Kokoa is the designated vanilla genki oppai loli, so most of her scenes are pure love. Seira seems to have gone in the opposite direction, being the cool beauty that's occasionally subjected to rape or humiliation instead. Akisa has the smallest build out of all the girls and known as the girl who's best at "holding it", so she has a decent amount of oral. Hanabi has the most femdom scenes, full stop. Aka has the biggest tits, so obviously she gets paizuri. Ao is the tomboy, so she's weak with sex matters, or so I've heard (haven't actually looked at her scenes much). Eriza is the foreigner ojou, but I don't think I've noticed a running theme with her scenes. Riri is the most gyaru out of all of the girls, but her scenes have been largely on the vanilla side as well, surprisingly. Iko is the idol, so she gets scenes on both ends of the spectrum. The "idol only for you" type of scene, and the "idol is actually an exhibitionist slut" or something along those lines. Nobody cares about Marianne. Seriously, she's the least popular girl. --- |

| Eab1990 07/23/20 4:39:56 AM #293 | SMRPG is definitely babby's first RPG (along with Pokemon, though they obviously have vastly different approaches and narratives), but I think it did well being a pioneer in that regard. Being one of the first games to come up with the concept of Timed Hits, otherwise known as Action Commands in other games, really does a lot to make turn-based combat more engaging in this and the RPGs to come, Mario or otherwise. For that reason alone, I place it in high regard, as I'm sure many others do. It's just way more satisfying to watch attacks get better through button commands, even if it's something as simple as "Mario jumps twice/hits twice with the hammer" or "Bowser catches Mario off the rebound and throws him at the enemy again". The issues with the narrative are justified, though I've never really thought it that way when playing through the game myself. It makes sense when viewed from the lens of playing future Mario RPGs, but when you look at this as the predecessor to all that, you give it a lot more leeway. Stuff like Star Hill lacking a boss fight is noticeable, sure, but Geno being a blank slate isn't all that different from, say, some partners getting the shaft in Paper Mario. On that note, personally, my Mario RPG history has been SMRPG --> M&LSS --> TTYD --> PM64, and I haven't ever gotten around to the rest. SS and TTYD were both unique enough to distinguish themselves from SMRPG, while the similarities were still apparent. Moreso for TTYD, since SS quickly goes off the rails after assembling the Beanstar pieces and really starts to feel like a completely new RPG following the plot twists. PM64, on the other hand, feels like a downgrade to me, since the mechanics don't feel as tight to me as TTYD, and the narrative feels blander than either game. I don't get the same feeling of nostalgia or leniency that I do with SMRPG. But I know some people prefer PM64 over TTYD, so it's probably due to the order I played them that has affected my judgment. --- |

The $5 fortune charm is a decent bang for your buck, but between that and the shitty rates, it's best to hoard until that Saki collab, I guess. The orbs are basically the game's equivalent of marriage, so to speak. If you look at each character's bond section, once you hit bond 5 (max bond), you can unlock an outfit for them with the necessary orbs and other materials. It's a long-term thing though. --- |

I had to reroll about 6 times but the 9k+ you get as a new player makes it pretty painless. I ended up getting some great 3*s that far exceeds the account I made previously. No problem. I wasn't sure if now would be a good time to reroll since I didn't know if new accounts got the gems too, but you just answered that for me. If not, I would've recommended people wait until ReZero rerun (if it ever happens) before rerolling, but since you seem to have a good start now, you might want to save gems for the next month or so until they announce that. Unless you really want Summer Ruka/Nanaka, who will also probably be limited (but also won't be as rare as Rem/Emilia). --- |

Hero bans were a terrible fucking idea too, but at least they got rid of them. DPS buffs, support/barrier nerfs everywhere. Tracer and Genji have gotten meaningless nerfs throughout the game's lifecycle, while Mercy/Brigitte/etc. get shit into the ground. Even Zen's one tool for dealing with flankers got unnecessarily nerfed. SR system is a joke. There's basically no difference between Gold and Master. Doing fuck all with the lore or world building. Apex accomplished more with its lore in a year than Overwatch did in four. And then there's the Blizzcon controversies, hitting the emergency gay button on Soldier 76, Blitzchung, etc. --- |

Probably won't clear it in time (again, resets in eight hours), not that I've ever cleared tower on hard before. I've only recently been able to clear the damn normal mode. At least my first tower clear rewarded me with a scene of the cutest girl. JewelPri: More or less ready for the next event. Not much to say. June Bride Libyan Glass was cute though. Got the essentials and did some decent leveling on Princess Form Kokkoro and Chieru, though I'd have liked to farm a bit more. Ready for summer rerun with the Summer Saren I just rolled, though I'm annoyed that it's summer 2 and not summer 1, so I'm stuck with getting Summer Io instead of Summer Kokkoro. Djibril: New event girl is cute. I think I can finally get out of stam hell with this event, but the event's just starting, so... --- |
