There was some ocean movie we went to when I was on school as a field trip. Don't remember the name of it.

I didn't even know about MySpace until like 2007. I was really behind on internet stuff back then. I was on there from 2007-2009, so not very long. Seemed like longer back then.

TopicDo mainstream conservatives now admit they were wrong about gay marriage?
GameReviews

I remember when I was in seventh grade, we had an assignment where we had to defend different viewpoints in a debate. I was given the issue of gay marriage. I remember at the time thinking "oh, of course, obviously I'm against it, how could anybody be in favor of gays marrying?" I was like 11 at the time, so my political views basically mirrored my parents.

When I had to actually sit down and do research for the presentation, I really couldn't come up with any good arguments against gay marriage. So I just did a half-assed job of arguing against it based mostly on conservative talking points But after that experience, I started to actually critically look at my opinions through a more objective lens.

A lot of people never get to that level of intelligence of a critically thinking 7th grader. They just stick with whatever stupid indoctrination they get from an early age. Whether it's from the Bible, their parents, their friends group, or elsewhere. In all honesty, it's really a lack of education and critical thinking skills that lead to opinions like that sticking around. And unfortunately, a huge chunk of our lawmakers and people in powerful positions still approach issues from that ignorant position.

This was my complaint as well. Everyone else is like "Oh, it's so cool!" But I was mostly like "Yes, but it's so out of character. And it's kind of lame that the movie segues directly into New Hope."

I kind of would have liked it more if they just alluded to New Hope. Like have someone transmit the plans to Leia's ship and then just have one of the Imperials be like "Lord Vader, we traced a transmission", and he's like "Well then, let's go get them." So everyone understands that they're going to chase down the ship and segue into New Hope without having to have it explained in a way that babies can understand.

But I don't expect Rogue One to be flawless (especially not after the prequels, and compared to the sequels), so I'm willing to forgive it for a few things. Like this, or like how all the characters are more like mythic archetypes than actual people, or that it feels like they crammed what could have been 2-3 movies worth of plot into one movie.

This so much. I was very disappointed at how... off key, the ending of Rogue One was. It just didn't fit with the tone of the movie, or the tone of Episode IV. They were like "let's just do stuff that looks cool and goes directly into the beginning of Episode IV in an unbelievably convenient, yet laughably preposterous manner."

Any good? I find waterproof ones to be a must. Even more so when using stepping stones or crossing streams.
They're not great. I got them from Walmart 6 years ago. I seldom wear them, because I don't often hike on rough terrain anymore, since I've moved to Toronto. I don't even think they're waterproof.

- white under Armour project rock 2 training shoes
- rainbow colored Nike train quicks
- low top leather converse
- brown bull boxer dress shoes
- brown Nunn & Bush dress shoes
- black Dr. Martens dress shoes

- Steve Madden brown and white street shoes

That's about it. Now that I think about it, I haven't bought a new pair of shoes in over a year.

Considering how it's pot luck if you find all your essentials at the store, it's definitely justified to be going out often. You need to check regularly if you want to stock up properly instead of buying a million cans of a soup nobody's touching that day.
That's a lame ass excuse. Plan your shopping trips better, or just learn to compromise and buy something else.

They are doing that. But they cant go to the stores they normally would go to because theyre deemed inessential so theyre all cr amming together into the only stores that are open.

I guess I get what you're saying. You're saying you believe that many people are getting other non-essential products from grocery stores, and other essential business that are still open, correct? I guess I could buy that as somewhat of an explanation, but do you really think people should be going out and buying a bunch of non essential things and cramming into stores every single day when there's a pandemic going on?

I used to go out every day, and I would go food shopping sometimes multiple times per week, go out to eat, etc. I've only been out 3-4 times since this pandemic started. I'm definitely not going out more by any stretch of the imagination, so why would it be necessary for others to go out more if they're actually following recommendations? And even the amount of times that I am going to a supermarket is less than usual because I'm trying to reduce the number of shopping trips I make.

The stores are busier because thats the only place people can go. They cant go anywhere else because its all shutdown so theyre forced to gather together in tighter numbers into the same general area.
I mean, they could just stay home and only go out every week or so for necessities.

Jesus Christ, this. I've gone out exactly 3 times since stuff started shutting down about a month ago, all 3 times to go food shopping. And I've NEVER seen the stores as busy as they have been. People aren't going out less, they're going out MORE. Because they're bored and stupid.

TopicIs uncharted 2-4 as repetitive as the first?
GameReviews
04/18/20 2:03:44 AM
#18
I say this as a fan of Uncharted, but the TC is basically right. The games are incredibly repetitive and linear. I have a hard time remembering specific sequences from each game, because gameplay never evolves or changed, and there's a lot of fights / scenes throughout the series that play out very similarly. They all just blend together in my mind.

Not the gameplay, or even the story is very good in my opinion. My biggest problem with the stories of the games are that it's very obvious how often it's needlessly drug out just to prolong the game. Which just leads to more repetitive gameplay. I barely remember the story of any of the games. It's all just you and the bad guys playing hot potato with whatever magic item(s) are in that game. Isn't that the story of every single Uncharted game?

IMO, the main strengths of the series has always been the action, the set pieces, and the fact that the main characters are very likable. That's why I kept coming back to them.

Unfortunately, if you didn't play the games when they were new, the action and set pieces are probably fairly unimpressive by now (exception of Uncharted 4) and you probably don't care about the characters.

So yeah, I can total get what you're saying.
