It's more neutral heavy because half the game is people floating around in the air waiting to land and hit each other once lol. That's like saying airplanes have more airtime than pro skateboard tricks. Duh, by design it does. Brawl is even more neutral heavy than Ultimate in the way you are defining it. Congrats to ESAM and Samsora for doing the same combo, it's cool that they can do that sequence on everyone in the same context. I'm not calling them bad, I'm calling the game stale.

You have no idea what you're talking about if you think Marth's recovery is gigantic in Melee, like seriously noooo idea. Even Fox in Melee doesn't have half the recovery Fox has in Ultimate. Mvc2 only had 8 viable characters out of 50+ and that game lasted a decade and only got taken off the circuit because a viable sequel came out. If you want pure balance, go play a game where you literally flip a coin. That's balanced but not fun. Street Fighter 1 has 2 characters that are literally the same except for colors. Perfectly balanced. Ledge play is so silly in Ult. One char gets hit only to recover from blast zone and snap to the ledge, player on stage misses their 2 frame, rinse repeat. I can't believe that top level play involves actually sitting there charging smash attacks HOPING to ledge trap them. That's something low level players do too.

What the fuck is the point of this topic if you are going to plug your ears anyway. You literally enjoy being camped out by characters for 8 minutes, there's absolutely nothing anyone can say to you.

Hmm, rushed 2nd game series release vs 5th game entry 18 years later. I wonder which I should be holding to a slightly higher standard. Why does Ult have chars like Dark Samus, Daisy, Richter who are the same save for literally a few pixels on some moves. Same speed, weight, damage, hitbox, jumps, move properties, knockback amount, knockback angles. Even less difference than the Shoto clones of SF or the MK Ninjas. I'm not even talking about the sorta similar chars in vein of Melee clones like Chrom, Dark Pit, Pichu, or Dr Mario. Like straight up palette swaps.

The thing that makes Melee's clones not as bad is that the game itself feels a lot better to play. I don't care if you give me 80 chars if they're all neutered. I'd much rather have 10 characters that are full of depth. Why did they remove Bowser and Snake's unique DSmashes from the previous games to give them the same thing?

Ultimate has

1) a shit ton of boring characters to fight against (tell me it's fun to fight against Young Link, Duck Hunt, Palutena, Ness, Villager, Robin, etc)
1a) there is no powershielding so you have no defense against projectile spam coming your way. Parrying does nothing to projectiles
2) a lot of characters who play really similarly, there are like 5 Marths, not even just 5 FE characters, why do Ridley, K rool, and Incineroar have the same dsmash, why does every character have down b counter
3) a buffer system that inputs your NEXT move before your CURRENT one is done
4) a ton of characters that can almost quite literally recover from anywhere on screen which defeats the purpose of solid offstage play
5) maybe the worst online for a modern FG (and ironically, Melee recently got the perhaps best netcode for any FG period)
6) we're talking like, it's "sick" in ultimate if you get a 2 hit combo. Did you know a 2 hit combo is literally the minimum a combo can possibly be? most the game is just hitting someone away and waiting for them to slowly fall back to the stage and reading how they're going to airdodge. Just hit, repeat, hit repeat. You can't follow your advantage like you can in Melee
7) movement is just objectively worse. You just have less control of your character

Is it just like, more of the same thing, or is it amazing, or what? I watched my friend play a little and it seemed fun.

TLoU1 was fun for what it was but eventually, I felt the gameplay was starting to stagnate. I don't really remember the plot all too well but I remember I really liked the writing and development the characters had, to the point where my whole family was intrigued while I was playing it during a Christmas break.

I really liked the way the game ended so some parts of me feel like this might be a forced sequel, what do you think?

Weird, i'd argue a fighting game requires more investment than a shooter game to be good at and people are way more emotional about fighting games than shooters, maybe its like you say, the genre and not the game.

I started playing FGs when I was 18 and I'm almost 30 now so my priorities are different overall with gaming and getting better. FGs just resonate more with me and I like the 1v1 aspect of it. I feel like things in a fighting game are easy to understand because the info is immediately available to you, whereas a shooter like this is hard because a lot of the meta is playing around probability.

What's the point if playing a competitive game if you're not gonna try hard? some people enjoy that shit and that's who the game is aimed at, this is just not for you TC.

Yeah that's what I'm leaning at. I'm primarily a fighting game player. I've played and won Street Fighter tournaments, I play and have played Smash bros Melee competitively, and perhaps this isn't the game/genre for me for various reasons.

Idk. I enjoyed getting into the game for the beta and playing 5v5 with 9 other people I know and stuff. But eventually I feel a presure. What fun is a game where 80% of the game is about thinking what COULD be there. I respect the intelligence behind it and the skill. I just feel like it's not for me. I wanna hold W and shoot people sometimes. I wanna have fun. But it's like some pro game of hide and seek. Some of my friends I play with, who are intrinsically nice people, get super salty too and it discourages me from playing because I don't want to be a burden. EVEN IN UNRANKED!!!! Like wtf. I tried hard in games 10 years ago when I was 18 but I don't have that drive anymore, and I feel like I'm holding certain people back by not having that drive.

Idk, I feel like people try too hard and miss the point of what a video game is. You're either contributing or not contributing and a combination of the knowledge to constantly guess who could or couldn't be around a corner, and taking random games really seriously, just turn me off.

I'm by no means saying people don't have a right to protest or be outraged. I want to know where the protests are trying to go. A new law for police? I think a goal of "end racism" or "start the police over from scratch" seem a little nebulous and I feel like all the energy directed at a focus or systematic steps would be more powerful.

Where are the donations going? Is it to get people out of bail? Scholarships? I feel like there's a ton of good will but I don't know what it's being directed at.

That's not necessarily true. Apathy and negligence can make you bad sometimes too. Like if you have mad food and someone right in front of you is starving to death, you aren't causing them harm, but you are preventing them from living. You can have good intentions but just be so naively negligent that it inadvertently risks others, like if you were selling a boat and said it was good to sail on good faith without thoroughly testing it.

You can cause harm to someone about to kill you or someone else and not be a bad person. You can emotionally mess with a bully to get them to stop bullying other people. You can accidentally hurt others too, like car accidents or whatever. I get what you're saying but I think bad person has more to it. Being a furry isn't bad though lol.

I grew up watching 90s Bollywood movies. I think most Bollywood movies are god awful but the songs are wonderful. I also know tons of songs from the 50s onwards because my parents would play old collections of songs too. For some reason, my brain is especially good at remembering all these songs even though I barely understand Hindi (I'm ethnically Nepali). I still have a playlist of like 100 of my favorite songs and it took me a while to track them all down. I don't know too many songs from like 2005 era onwards but I try to check them out here and there and get exposed to new songs through my cousins and uncles /aunts. I credit A R Rahman as one of the reasons I love music, his work is amazing.

Idk I kinda get it though. If one of your defining character's traits is that they are gay, then a gay person is going to be able to do that role better. Like when I watch NPH try to play a straight guy on HIMYM, something feels off. It could be his acting but it never sells me really. When I see Joey Tribbiani or Jack MacFarland, where part of their character is heavily tied into their sexuality, I'm convinced it's a straight or gay guy respectively.

If it was just like, oh they want a LGBTQ person for the role even though it's not a defining feature of the char, that would be kinda forced, it should just be acting talent. But if part of their character is heavily tied into their sexuality, I think it only makes sense to have an actor that represents.

It's some girl I met once through a distant friend of a close friend, she had a bf at the time but when we went all went out, I remember thinking she was really cool and accepting, but she was dating that distant friend at the time. I saw her profile on OKC and after reading her bio, it really seems like we'd get along really well, lot of lifestyle and mentality similarities and things I value. I can't get it out of my head atm. I just hope it works out and we actually connect.

I could ask that close friend to see if he can do anything about it, but I'm not too sure cause they're not even friends on Facebook. Plus I feel like if it'll work out, I shouldn't have to get my friend to tell her to check me out.

There have been some polls in this contest where I've played 2 games in the head to head but not any other ones. In order to vote for the game I actually wanted to vote for, I have to just sort of, guess on which game I might like more out of the 3 matchups. Which skews the results. I really doubt everyone who votes has played every single game in the poll, so undoubtedly this is happening all the time. Of course the contest is whatever at the end of the day but there's always room for better methods no matter what the context is.

Getting your food delivered means you're only interacting with 1 person as opposed to going to a supermarket where there are several people. If you have the virus, you're only putting the delivery person at risk instead of public stores. If you were gonna get it, you're more likely to get it from dense areas than singular people.

Unifying everyone together has positives and negatives. Smart countries can balance this decently. America isn't one of them. The idea of 'freedom' is taken so far where the freedom to ignore things is inherent to us. Other nations where they have a more totalitarian role on the people and censor news are on one side of the spectrum, America is on the other. There are downsides to freedom and that's when people want to be free even if it means their own and everyone else's downfall.

Agreed, I'm just more pissed off we had political leaders and influencers that were calling this a hoax and saying "well it's just another flu". And we wonder why we have so many cases and I still believe we are heavily underreported with out hospitals not having enough proper wear to protect themselves.

Thankfully some companies and rich people are contributing, but despite their good deeds, everything would be so much more efficient if every large influence was on the same wavelength. I'm glad some people are doing their part, but unfortunately it means nothing if the majority aren't doing their part.

IMO I don't think anything will at this point, because just the evidence of electing someone like Trump shows more than I'd like, but at least it's forcing people to notice things that they would normally overlook. A lot of businesses, like Amazon and Whole Foods, have workers going on strike for benefits and safety, and it seems completely fair. Louisiana workers are demanding sick days because paid sick leave is only guaranteed in some states but not all. Based on social media, there are more people outspoken about our 'stupid' as you say and call it out more, but our generation online doesn't cover the entire mass demographic. I don't even care for differences in politics or opinion at this point, I just want everyone to act in the best way they can to get this thing over with sooner than later.

Which seems weird. Praying together in solidarity shouldn't matter if you're all in the same building or not. Life, god, the universe, etc isn't dependent on you being in the same room. It'l about the collective spirituality. So even if you're a Christian or any other religion, pray isolated, because you can both be spiritual and also have the knowledge on how viruses work. They aren't separate ideas.

I just don't understand. From federal to interpersonal, everyone gets better faster if everyone takes it seriously. Even if you hate everyone and you're trying to just make it on your own, your life will get better faster if you care. Whether you're economically selfish, your money flows better when everyone is back to normal form. If you're pleasure selfish, more things open back up for you to do, more business make products you like when this is over, so just participate for now. It's so dumb that it's in our culture to be like "f the government, I do what I want!" which I get is an expression of freedom, but for something like this where this is literally humanity vs nature, we gotta stick together to survive, and if survival means everyone stay inside as much as possible, then stay inside. The only way we got to where we are is because humans have to be collectively smart. We're on the internet and stuff so we're a little more savvy, but man it's so disheartening to see authorities on our culture, whether government influence or just social influence, not take this thing as serious as it's getting. If you are taking it seriously, thanks. If not, just think about it, being aware actually benefits you in the long run, just be a smart person and remember that long term benefit will make your life better.

I see other countries respond to this way better, and even though it's a lot to do with the authorities taking it seriously, it's also the culture of the place too. I've seen people just not care simply because "well nobody I know has is so how dangerous is it really", or "I'm young so I'll be fine", or "maybe the government is just making it up".

If this thing is already doing so much havoc, just imagine what the next dangerous virus could do. Humanity might wipe itself out due to war, but if cooperation can make us survive, just cooperate. And if you don't like the lockdown laws or the limits or whatever, go live in the wild and start your own country. If you live in someone's space, you gotta pay rent. That's true no matter what.
