I just took the 20 African countries with the lowest GDP per capita, the ones ranked #35 - #54 in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_African_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)_per_capita.

Using the Worldometers stats they collectively have a population of almost 428 Million people (about 30% more than the US), and they have reported 48,973 cases of Covid-19 and 910 deaths, with 621,855 tests conducted (1,453 tests per Million).
That has got to be a significant undercount of cases and deaths based on the limited amout of testing in Africa, right? The US has conducted 128,281 tests per Million people, or about 88 times as much as these African countries. So let's multiply both the case and the death numbers from Africa by this factor:

Africa (adjusted): 4,323,519 cases (10,103 cases per Million), 80,338 deaths (188 deaths per Million)
United States: 3,413,995 cases (10,312 cases per Million), 137,782 deaths (416 deaths per Million)

Are my calculations pure BS because the African countries may be at an earlier stage of the pandemic? Because the undercount in the African countries may be by even more than a factor of 88? Some other reason?
I think the discrepancy in the number of deaths could easily be explained by the fact that mostly old people die of Covid-19, and the African countries have a very young population.
Still, the mere fact that this comparison is being made, and that I don't know whether the US comes out ahead of 20 of the poorest nations in the World, doesn't reflect well on the US, IMHO.

According to https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ the US is 11th in cases per capita and 9th in deaths per capita. The only two countries that are doing worse than the US on both counts are San Marino and Andorra, two countries that together have 0.0014% of the World's population and a single active Covid-19 case.
Because the US has done quite a lot of testing (good for 23rd in the World adjusted for population), it's likely that the undercounts in some Asian, African and South American countries are more significant than in the US. But even if the case and death numbers for each country in those continents were multiplied by five, the US would still be only doing better than some of them.

The US is a 1st world country with a distribution of resources* that make some areas* fall below the standard that can be expected of other 1st world countries.

*Using the widest definitions for these terms, not just "resources = money" and "areas = geographical areas".

In the US only the Northeast comes close to being past the first wave. Much of the Midwest is past the peak of the first wave, but not close to being completely past it. Large parts of the South and West haven't even reached the peak of the first wave.

It varies by state / region. If cases were to rise significantly in the northeast (NY, NJ, CT, MA) it would be the second wave, as daily cases have been consistently trending downward since the peak in April. In much of the rest of the US there hasn't been any sustained and significant downward trend since cases started appearing, so any increase in case would still be part of the first wave.

Maybe true overall but Belgium is an outlier. It has the highest number of Coronavirus deaths per million inhabitants in the World, a female Prime Minister (Sophie Wilms) and a female Minister of Health (Maggie De Block).

You got quite lucky with the random languages. Vietnam is the 15th most populous country in the world, Pakistan (where Urdu is the main language) is the fifth most populous country. Trade between the two countries was worth over US$ 700 Million in 2017, so there's definitely potential to make money knowing those two languages.

Roughly a doubling every three days. But I don't think that the growth rates for the US and for Italy will necessarily be very similar. Italy has more elderly people, is more densely populated and people have a more communitarian lifestyle. On the other hand, Italy also has universal healthcare.
