... Well I thought it seemed neat. I haven't played tabletop D&D since 2015, but I did play Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 a few years back. Honestly not sure whether I should make an OC or just play with one of the prebuilt characters. One of the issues with D:OS2 was that you get less dialogue and quest options if you made an OC, but I've heard they're trying to rectify that for BG3.

My dad never learned how to swim because he wasn't allowed in the public pools as a kid, and a few of his friends that tried swimming in the Mississippi River ended up drowning because they were still beginners. Despite my mom being Asian and from a small island, she doesn't know how to swim particularly well either.

If your immediate family doesn't know how to swim, you're probably not gonna have many instances to learn yourself. I learned how to swim (well, not drown) because my extended family members had a pool, and because we live close enough to beaches.

Visually, the games should've been way better than they turned out. I actually like the 8th gen metagame though. I do like the idea of rotating mons in and out of competitive so that teams don't look too homogenous when comparing to different gens. It also helps with power creep in general.

Yeah, probably gonna go hunt for an Xbone controller. Got a quote from Nintendo that it would cost $30 + $10 shipping for repairs, so I ought to just get a new controller, while trying to fix the Switch controller on the side since I generally know what the problem is. If I mess something up I guess I'll know what it costs to send it in for repairs.

I appreciate the suggestions.

Well I was wondering because you're basically talking about the cheapest controllers you can buy, so I don't know if you wanted to look into actual good controllers or not. If you're willing to spend more in the $150-200 range you can get a good Scuf controller or something, get nice features like adjustable triggers and back paddles.

https://scufgaming.com/
Actually yeah, that's too rich for my blood. Definitely looking for something in the range of $30-70 that'll last me a few years ideally. I guess my other options are to get a quote on how much Nintendo wants to fix my controller, or try to open it up myself and clear out any debris under the left stick.

What kind of games do you play and are you a poor?
Recently a lot of Monster Hunter, so I guess action games? 3D games primarily, seeing as that's what's messing with my Switch Pro Controller. Also I can afford a $60 controller, I'm just cheap.

I've been using a Switch Pro Controller generally, but the left stick is having issues because the plastic of the joystick erodes and gets stuck under the joystick as dust. I'm looking at an Xbox One controller, but the price seems a bit steep. I've used third party controllers from Gamestop before, but the face buttons got stuck after a year.

Basically I've narrowed it down to either a 360 controller or Xbone, but I'll hear out any other suggestions.

you never really got to see all that sword talent enough.

he had a great arc though
Piandao reiterates that Sokka isn't particularly talented with the blade - when he's using the sword he's just using the same tactics he's used throughout the series because they work. Also he only received direct instruction for a few days before having to leave. It's basically the same amount of training Sokka got on Kyoshi Island, it's just that he also got a cool sword out of it.

Hope you enjoy Book 3 of Korra - the main antagonist is probably my favorite in either series.

Just finished the game myself - not gonna lie, I had to look up stuff for everything relating to teleporting to other planets from Ash Twin. Must have skimmed over the texts where I was supposed to learn about that. Really neat game, but gosh you have to be in the mood to play something like this - for the first five or so hours you're just fumbling about. I've also rediscovered a fear of anglerfish that I didn't remember I had.

I dont understand why Aang getting bonked by a rock was what reawakened the Avatar state. Why did the monk push so hard for him to forget love then?
Aang had already unlocked the 7th chakra spiritually, but the chakra paths in the body can also be blocked by physical trauma, which was when Azula hit him in the Book 2 finale. I think the rock hitting his lightning wound crudely jostled the chakra path back open all at once, since trying to heal it slowly with waterbending was too painful. Similarly in Korra, this seems to be the difference between the two types of debending shown. The Avatar uses energy bending as the lion turtles did to take away bending, while bloodbending is used to permanently cripple the chakra paths, as opposed to regular chi-blocking doing this temporarily.

Because in-universe and out (and this applies to every Souls game too) your character has infinite tries, and they only have to win once. The main character is immortal, and the antagonists are after that immortality precisely because you're basically unstoppable because of it. Similarly in Dark Souls I, there isn't anything unique about the Chosen Undead besides the fact that they keep trying until they win while every other undead gives up and turns hollow.

God that specific image in the book lost me so many hours of sleep. Even looking at this picture suddenly after seeing the movie, I felt my heart drop. Which is weird since in the book she does nothing but help the narrator.

Also $20 million's $20 million, I doubt ghosts can be that gross.

I'm optimistic, Divinity Original Sin 2 is probably my favorite of this style of games, so Larian Studios was ideal for a developer. I hope they allow you to pick up and equip new weapons while in combat. My favorite Baldur's Gate experience was having my mage pick up my dead fighter's hammer and finishing Kangaxx off with it.

The problem with all of this is that it shouldn't be the voice actors apologizing - they just played the role they were cast in. The casting directors (or whatever the equivalent is for animation) are the ones that should be broadening the pool of voice actors they have auditioning for parts. I know for anime dubs they had a small pool of voice actors that they got complacent with, and that's why you tended to hear the same voices frequently.

The issue isn't with white voices getting to voice minority characters, it's that minority voices are getting fewer chances to be cast in the first place. A voice actor of any ethnicity should have the chance to play whatever character their voice fits, but the opportunity to be cast should be equal as well.

Also for what it's worth, Diane's ethnicity has no effect on the character outside one episode in Season 5. You don't necessarily need someone Vietnamese to play her when the fact that the character is white washed is the point.

While XC1 has a better main story and arguably main cast, all of the sidequest stuff is way weaker than in XCX. If you start getting bogged down by the quality of the sidequests, don't go out of your way to do them. There are a few quests that are worth it narrative-wise, but for the most part they're the type of quests that are on the mission board on XCX.

Final fights in any martial arts series with magic tend to downplay the choreography to show off the new power levels, so you're fine with criticizing the fight for that or if you weren't a fan of the emotional payoff for that fight. Also they address what happened with Azula in the comics IIRC.

Definitely JRPG, but I guess you could say the sidequests are more WRPG-esque than usual. Especially since there's arguable fail-states to quests and at least one quest chain branches off depending on whether a certain NPC is spared.

Try doing the sidequests for named NPCs, and ideally you'll take out the other sidequests by messing around, just make sure you accept them all. Just make sure not to get bogged down by them - sidequests aren't really this game's strong suit. There's a few pretty good sidequests for worldbuilding, but there's way more that aren't.

Potentially. Xenoblade's combat is slower than X's, but it has a better main story and cast. The sidequests are significantly worse though (since the side content is why I prefer X) and if you do pick up the game, I'd recommend skipping most of them if you start getting bored. There's a few good sidequests that expand on the world, but there's more fetch quests that aren't worth it.
