Just keep an eye one him, some improve and then quickly deteriorate at the end. If he is doing really well one day and then gets worse the next, make sure they know that it's significant. It's a beatable virus so odds are he'll be fine, you just can't ignore anything.

I live in Canada, he is at home with my sister and niece and nephew. It came out of nowhere, really scary to think about :(

He lives in New Jersey. My sister told me he was sick for a few days but just got tested today.
Good news is he isn't displaying all symptoms, so I'm hopeful that he will get through this.
But damn, it hits hard when a relative get this thing...

I can get drug counselling from my social workers, but other than that I'm on my own. I feel good looking forward, I know that buying more will just get me addicted again.

I will say one more thing, it's something you already know and have probably already heard. You are the only one that can keep you clean. I know what it's like to have addiction problems and yes it is hard. I hope you find the strength you need and I hope you be safe until that moment.

Thank you. I know how to stay safe on it, I've never overdosed. I will try my best to not get any more but it is tough to go about my day without some sort of way of making me feel alert and happy. Hopefully it will be easy to not do it.

Tc I wasted the better part of my 20's addicted to Roxy's. Like 7 years and over $150,000 worth of pills over that period of time. cut that shit out homie you know it's no good for you. That urge to relapse when you feel like it's been a while so you think you should be alright to do it again just a little bit is a fucking sinkhole man, avoid it at all costs but when you do slip up dont act like all is lost, keep moving fucking forward.

It's hard, dont let anyone bullshit you but your life will be 100% better without that shit. It's all in your head my dude so you gotta stay focused at all times. Once you finally get to that point where you finally feel free and the world seems a little brighter again it feels so refreshing like you just fought the biggest demons you'll ever face and now you're ready to take on the world.

The hardest part was going a month without it. Where I am now I don't feel as inclined to do it as I did before, but I do think that there still may be times in the future where I do it again.

I don't want to come across preachy or negative, especially if you are already seeking help, but that can be a dangerous mindset to have. When you feel that way it can be easier to fall back in to using again, I hope for your sake and for the sake of your loved ones knowing that it doesn't have that hold on you gives you the strength to legitimately stop using.

Yeah true, although with how i get it it's easy to stay away from because it's hard to obtain, and I can't get it all the time. No cravings to do anymore btw.

Dude :( as someone who's lost friends to addiction, and seen family members struggle with it, please try to get help. And especially don't touch fentanyl of all things. It's a terrible thing and I truly wish you the best.

Thanks man. I got addicted to it last March and didn't stop until December. It's different now, though, I feel it doesn't have the hold on me it did before.
