Let me add:

Colonization. Been playing the DOS version from GOG for like the last week constantly. Playing as the English and I am about to declare independence if the Dutch would just leave me alone!

Yeah, tons.

Most recent would be Dragon Warrior 1, Loom (on Mac), Sid Meier's Railroads!, Jumpman on the Atari 130XE (Atari 8-bit computer).

Why is he so insistent though?
I mean, it's just a game from the 80's that's not even slightly relevant anymore.

Also no one cares about highscores anymore.
See Zeb's response, but just to reiterate, there is a sizeable community who cares about arcade high scores. With arcade cabinet prices exploding in the last decade since King of Kong came out, it seems the classics are as popular as ever. I, myself, have a small collection cabs, and I got into it at the wrong time with the current prices. :)

Anyway, yeah, this news article made the rounds last week at KLOV (someone the other night spammed past Billy Mitchell topics from years ago and bumped them to the top, and then got a temporary ban from the moderators...people were, of course, either ticked or amused) and Donkey Kong Forum. Quite a few people still care about what Billy Mitchell does, did, or did not do.

Topici didn't "get" beat 'em up games

When they first started "hitting" (pun intended) arcades, they were a breath of fresh air for the newer generation of arcade-goers. After the golden age ended in '83 or so, arcades started to downsize due to "samey" games or completely wacky games.

When Double Dragon came out...wow! I still remember the first time playing Double Dragon at a small bowling alley arcade. Completely mesmerized! And then when Final Fight came out...beat 'em ups just really took off.

I can understand if you didn't grow up with them or weren't "there" when they first started coming out in arcades, you may not get them. But for those of us who did experience this new type of arcade game at the time in the mid-80s, it was pretty exciting.

And then SFII came out... :D

thankfully the Mako does not exist after ME1
I actually loved that aspect of ME1. It reminded me of Star Control II finding minerals for that game...and it was something that really immersed me in those games.

according to the ME3 player statistics it's close to like 75-80% who pick MaleShep

FemShep reps are just a very vocal minority

I played as FemShep because I, personally, thought the voice acting was much better in Mass Effect 1 than the male version. So, just continued on with my female Shepard with 2 and 3.

I actually decided to start playing through Dragon Warrior 1 yesterday...my original cart from the Nintendo Power giveaway...what...30 years ago now? I never played it long enough as a kid to get very far, but with the extra time nowadays, I finally decided to hunker down and try to beat it.

I played about an hour yesterday and got up to level 6. There is a grind...but having played many early-to-mid-2000s MMORPGs, this is nothing.

Strangely enough, my old battery in the cart still appears to work! I found two old saves on there from God knows when.

I dont understand how anyone could hate short round hes hilarious

as I kid I always wondered what happened to him and why he wasnt in the third movie

I agree with you. But, as I mentioned yesterday, if you saw the movie as a kid in the 80s, you probably would like Short Round because you wanted to be in his shoes as a kid as well...adventuring with Indy and what not. If you see the movie for the first time as an adult, I would imagine you wouldn't have the same view on Short Round since you may not be able to identify as him since you are an adult!

Just my thoughts...and it won't apply to everyone, naturally.

At the time, speaking from experience and "being there," kids in the mid-80s in my social group enjoyed Temple more than Raiders. I think it is because of the action in the film, there was an arcade game that Atari put out (which is pretty fun) based on the film, and, at the time, we all loved Short Round because he was also in Goonies a year later. Also, it helped that Indy was saving kids in the movie and being reunited with their parents.

I don't know, but those are some reasons why I think kids enjoyed the film more at the time than the first one. Once Crusade came out, however, we all changed our minds...since we were all a little older than anyway.

Today, I think I still like Temple better than Raiders, but Last Crusade is number one for me currently.

Original Trilogy, of course, up top...after that...I think Rogue One is next, if not right above Return of the Jedi. I loved Rogue One. And then after R1 and Jedi, Solo. The Sequel and Prequel trilogies come after the spinoffs.
