I made it a point to learn the BoC speedrun strat with the bow and firebombs recently, it's definitely saved me some time and gotten rid of the "Wonder if I'm sprinting back to get punted off the side again" feeling. It does when it works at least, I've had one case of BoC fighting back with the fire attack.

I dislike the orange walls too, especially since the game made it a point to let you bend New Londo out of shape by killing Ingward and fighting Four Kings early. It'd let you finish the game much earlier but you'd still have to get to Anor Londo to access Duke's Archives at least. You could kinda upgrade O&S' significance by having an optional "Well you got the four lord souls now you just need the huge bowl" route to things where you'd get some alternate text about what needs to happen and how.

The game's constantly on sale and there's newbies everywhere. Quite a few people really take to it if you say up front you're new.
We have more difficulties than any game needs so it's not hard to start really low and climb back up until you find where you're comfy.
You're only 1/4 of the team too so you'd have to be pretty exceptional to tank the entire game by accident, let alone consistently do that.

That's very specific and I do think it happened the first time I played but nonetheless I did end up really enjoying the gameplay and once you know how scenarios like the train bit are going to play out, the campaign mode's pretty manageable outside of No Hope difficulty.

I like both a lot and think they're great.
The co-op's great in 5, there's more tandem offence and focus on spacing while 6 is more like 2 independent characters on the same team with scores overlapping.
I'd definitely make a few gameplay tweaks to the single player though (Mainly being able to kill enemies while breaking out of a grapple like Leon in 4)

I miss when the series was fun like that.

Don't listen to the people telling you it's the hardest game ever. Definitely don't listen to the meme drones saying "git gud", if you ask for advice and get that response instead it really gets you wondering if you're at the part where the wheels have come off and the game's abandoned trying to be fair and it's all one big prank on you.

The game is for the most part (There's this one boss) fair and manageable. If you can find a way to win that's good enough. Just get a feel for how your character moves, how fast attacks come out and how much stamina they use. A lot of the time the game's a lot more about positioning and adaptability more than execution.
Hope you enjoy the game, definitely one of the best games that's come out in a long time now.

I'm probably in the extreme minority, but I think Cowboy Bebop is incredibly boring and not a great anime.

I found a lot of it boring except the episode where they find an actual cowboy. That episode is 11/10.

King of the Hill is my favorite of these. Futurama I remember being okay but years of unaltered quotes being recited as standalone punchlines has damaged my opinion of it.

If they were going to add one it'd have to be really patronising because once you know what the enemies can do and will do in each position, a lot of them are basically moving in slow motion.

The score these people give it would also go down because if they could actually beat it without putting any time into it, they'd just turn on the ol "this is not a hashtag epic emotive immersive cinematic sony exclusive experience and after my first playthrough I didn't attempt to get any more mileage out of the gameplay so it's not very good"
No point watering it down when the audience you'd be doing it for would rather drink paint.

OK, but why are certain games married to that respective genre? Again, why has there not been a Resident Evil game where you can for example, use banana peels to trip up zombies so you can get to the next room? Why are game developers committing entire franchises to singular storytelling methods?

You might like Dead Rising.
You can build barricades, throw 99% of things you can pick up, use pieces of meat as distractions to send zombies the other way and all that stuff.
You can dress Frank like an idiot and the cutscenes'll still attempt to present themselves seriously.
You can get rewarded with EXP for "outtake" genre photographs for stuff like breaking a gumball machine and photoing all the zombies tripping over everything.

Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 were also really funny in general because they'd mastered the "Why are you laughing player? Please stop, this is serious." thing and had great over the top gameplay.

It really was the best Spiderman game but I still remember being disappointed you couldn't unlock Doc Ock after the first movie game had that awesome Green Goblin unlock.

Why did the Dursleys move to a small busted up stone hovel in the middle of a raging sea to avoid the mail and then afterwards, why did nobody in rest of the world beyond the school do anything even nearly as outlandish ever again?

I liked the Chris campaign a lot.
Not even just the gameplay, I liked seeing Roidfield getting fed up for once. It's definitely at its best when you're playing up the dissonance between the cutscenes where they're having a hard time and the gameplay where everything gets run over by two infinite ammo grenade launchers.

Jake's sorta disappointed me because I thought Ustanak was really cool and wish there was more gameplay to him than presentation.

Leon's is probably the best co-op campaign, pro difficulty no infinite ammo agent hunt enabled specifically is great fun.

Yeah it was okay. Wasn't sure for the longest time but one day it was dirt cheap and I had a little familiarity with it through Super Meat Boy and some I Wanna Be The Guy fangame.

Payday 2 is technically just a series of incidents at places where things of value are stored, so the rest of the world should be completely fine.
Unless you mean I get the player role and I'm stuck in the middle of DS/OD Prison Nightmare and the ZEAL guys are all after me.
To be fair the worst thing that can happen to you in that game is your whole team goes to custody, no player is ever outright killed despite the sheer amount of times they're shot, tased and jump kicked. Might be a blessing in disguise.

I lost a shiny Nidorina (Which I caught despite it appearing in the Safari Zone, putting odds against me) to a freak game freeze.
Kinda just sat there for a while and thought "Well that would happen, wouldn't it."

I've been trying to get the appeal for years.
I even played through it when it first came out and it just felt like Bethesda had decided to suck the fun and sense of humor out of it.
I started watching the lafave bros playthrough of it after finishing the Oblivion one because I'm so certain there must be something to this game I'm missing.

Dark Souls 1 a few days ago
I ran to New Londo Ruins, got the fire keeper soul, but I kept going for a joke and actually managed to get the very large ember at like level 7 or 8 or something.
