ViolentAbacus 12/30/20 10:02:49 AM #375 | Yakuza Kiwami (PC) Overall it was pretty good, though I preferred Yakuza 0. The bosses were a pain in the ass in this one, though. Looking forward to the rest of the series! --- |

ViolentAbacus 12/26/20 1:53:42 PM #365 | Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon (Switch) Played this to prepare for CotM 2, which is the GotM for January. It was okay, I guess. I much preferred Ritual of the Night, though. --- |

ViolentAbacus 12/19/20 5:01:31 PM #355 | Fable 2 (Xbox One | Gamepass) Been playing this off and on and woo-wee I never realized how much worse the second (and third) were to the first one. As a youngling I used to love them. Was a struggle to get through this one. --- |
Topic | Post Each Time You Beat a Game: 2020 Edition Part II |
ViolentAbacus 12/13/20 10:41:38 AM #349 | New Super Lucky's Tale (Xbox One | Gamepass) Overall it was pretty decent, though a tad too easy. I still need to do the post-game world. Liked how it blended the different styles of platformers together with the different levels. --- |
Topic | Post Each Time You Beat a Game: 2020 Edition Part II |
ViolentAbacus 12/07/20 5:41:57 PM #333 | Poi: Explorer's Edition (Switch) Overall it was an okay platformer. The final boss added a random new mechanic that you never once used the rest of the game which was weird. Actually, the bosses were definitely the weakest part overall. --- |
Topic | Post Each Time You Beat a Game: 2020 Edition Part II |
ViolentAbacus 12/06/20 7:14:24 PM #331 | Slay the Spire (PC) I beat it for the first time with the Ironclad. It's an alright game, not a huge fan of rogue-like games where your progress resets, but it goes by pretty quick and I'm a sucker for card games. --- |
Topic | Post Each Time You Beat a Game: 2020 Edition Part II |
ViolentAbacus 11/26/20 12:40:50 PM #311 | Doom Eternal (PC) Overall I really enjoyed this one, maybe more than Doom (2016)? The game was overall a lot more difficult and it felt like it threw a ton at you, but you also felt a ton more mobile and had a lot more options. My biggest complaint was the length of the levels. Some went on entirely too long (like 90+ minutes). --- |

ViolentAbacus 11/24/20 11:10:50 AM #302 | Kentucky Route Zero (PC) I really liked the beginning of the game. The atmosphere, the characters, the exploration, and the melancholy. Around the end of Act III and beginning of Act IV though my enjoyment took a deep dive. --- |
Topic | Post Each Time You Beat a Game: 2020 Edition Part II |
ViolentAbacus 11/22/20 6:55:40 PM #299 | Grim Fandango (PC) So, overall I enjoyed the writing and the characters, but I really dislike how the game is basically really obscure/hidden puzzle after another with no real idea on where to go or what to do. As it was I ended up using a guide for the majority just because I got tired of wandering around. Some of them I'm not sure I would have ever thought about the right way to do it. --- |
Topic | Post Each Time You Beat a Game: 2020 Edition Part II |
ViolentAbacus 11/14/20 11:32:50 PM #282 | Horizon: Zero Dawn (PC) It was all right. I definitely liked it more the longer I played as more was revealed about how the world came to be the way that it is. --- |
Topic | Post Each Time You Beat a Game: 2020 Edition Part II |
ViolentAbacus 11/13/20 11:00:00 AM #279 | Tetris Effect: Connected Overall it was a pretty fun Tetris game. I really liked all the themes, and the visuals. That being said, I think I prefer the competitive Tetris games over the single player one (Puyo Puyo Tetris, Tetris 99, Tetris Friends). GOG, glad you liked Seven Sirens! It may be my second favorite in the series. My biggest complaint was that it was way too easy (in a series that is already relatively easy) --- |

ViolentAbacus 10/31/20 10:44:59 PM #259 | Broken Age (PC) Eh, it was all right for what it was. I liked the dual story and the characters, but it started to drag towards the end. Also I hated the wiring parts. --- |

ViolentAbacus 10/24/20 4:06:50 PM #248 | The Unfinished Swan (PC) Was a pretty neat game. I really liked the game mechanics, though they were fairly simple. The way the story was told was really nifty as well. I wish the puzzles were a bit more difficult, or that the game went on a bit longer. But overall fairly enjoyable for a short romp. --- |

ViolentAbacus 10/11/20 9:54:44 PM #229 | Super Mario Galaxy (Switch) Definitely my favorite of the collection. I beat it in one day. Went too hard on it. Whoops! Minit (Xbox One w/ Gamepass) Pretty nifty game, liked the premise. --- |

ViolentAbacus 10/07/20 9:23:33 PM #224 | Super Mario Sunshine (Switch) Overall I enjoyed it. The secret levels could have been done a bit better, and there were a LOT of red coins. But overall, I liked all the worlds and their designs for the most part... Outside of the hotel level. --- |

ViolentAbacus 09/04/20 4:41:25 PM #163 | Hades (PC) Technically I beat this? Besides RNG pissing me off in regards of conversations (I can NEVER talk to Meg...) it's been a fantastic game! Loved pretty much everything about it. Definitely up there with Bastion and Pyre! --- |

ViolentAbacus 09/04/20 12:07:11 AM #160 | Bioshock Infinite (PC) I liked it more than 2, I think. I liked Columbia and the characters way more than any in Bioshock 1 or 2. The story was bizarre, but had me interested. The gameplay was pretty subpar --- |

ViolentAbacus 09/02/20 10:32:54 PM #225 | I'm surprised they're still dubbing it at all, to be honest. I need to start watching again with One Pace. I quit watching during the Fishman Island arc and went solely to the manga because of the pacing and supposedly One Pace fixes it (as much as they can). --- |

ViolentAbacus 08/27/20 10:23:08 PM #147 | DuckTales: Remastered (PC) Beat on Easy... As much as I hated to do swap, after about the 30th death I lost patience. Anyways, was a pretty fun platformer! --- |

ViolentAbacus 08/23/20 9:15:45 PM #138 | Bioshock 2 Remastered (PC) It kinda felt unnecessary. I liked a few of the new guns, and didn't like a few of the others. The new way of getting ADAM was both neat and infuriating. --- |

ViolentAbacus 08/23/20 6:18:18 PM #137 | The Stanley Parable (PC) Picked this and DuckTales up today. Got 5 endings so far, planning on getting more. I love the narration, which was the main reason I picked up Icey last year. --- |

ViolentAbacus 08/23/20 12:41:23 AM #134 | SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated First game I've beaten in less 24 hours in a long time - at least, that isn't more than an hour or two. Goo Lagoon was probably my favorite world. --- |

ViolentAbacus 08/18/20 10:08:40 PM #126 | Spy Muppets: License to Croak (PC, GBA) The humor is about what you'd expect from a Muppets game. The gameplay was fairly boring and repetitive. Only really played it out of boredom, and to talk about it with a friend who hates the Muppets somehow. --- |

ViolentAbacus 08/15/20 7:05:25 PM #116 | Serious Sam: The Second Encounter (PC) Played the first and second encounter through the Revolution game, beat the second encounter today for some reason it didn't give me the achievement? Anyway, I liked this one so much more than the first encounter. --- |

ViolentAbacus 08/13/20 10:07:22 PM #110 | Banjo-Kazooie (XGP) Kinda mixed on this one. I liked the level designs overall, and loved the music. The cameras and controls were aggravating as heck though. Got everything in the game though! Well, at least that it keeps track of. --- |
