Woo hoo, I made it back onto the top 50 lol.

14/16 isn't bad, shame I didn't stick with Persona 4 over GTAV. Never would've guessed Xenoblade would take down FE.

Now this alternate contest, that's for everyone I assume?

Those take time. And energy. And some of it takes money already to do. Like if you went to a casino or something, you would need money to start. If you don't care about the rest of the stuff, then money isn't a bad choice...

Wouldn't take that long, regardless of income. I suppose it depends on where your save point is though; do you have to start at the beginning of each day or can you pick a particular time?

Let's assume you only have $5, I do not believe that to be an unreasonable amount. You could go watch the roulette wheel, see what it lands on, save and restart, bet that number (assuming nothing changes) and clean up.

Although the more I think about it, the more that sounds tedious - hence why I like debug mode. Just hack life and fill your bank account.

The real talking point is this settles the debate that save scumming is cheating.

Yes, but think of all the fun Bill Murray had once he accepted his fate in Groundhog Day. I voted debug mode though, seems like you could have more fun with that.

With save scumming, you could easily achieve your monetary goals by going to the casino, betting everything you have and then restarting until you got the outcome you desired.

With debug mode you could alter reality in a way to create an endless bank account.

Both options give you additional benefits beyond just infinite money. Just a nerdy thought.

Well, the dream is over. Still, I'm pleased with my bracket all things considered.

Also, this reminds me that I do own a sealed copy of Xenoblade Chronicles, so add that to the list of games I have but haven't played yet.

So woke up, checked the results. What happened? When I went to sleep yesterday with less than 1 hour for the match to end Bloodborne was winning. Did that Moonroof guy brought the votes?

@Zenithian_Legend It is not possible to not have played some of these games unless you are not a gamer. What kind of games you play?

Oh, I assure you it is quite possible. Most of my current gaming is FFRK - you already knew this :)

Beyond that, I haven't got a new system since the Wii and my most recent Playstation is the PS2. I never got a Wii U, and then when I had the extra cash to do so, they were suddenly no longer being manufactured. That being said, my girlfriend got a Switch, we just haven't really taken the time to play it much, as stupid as that is. So, I do have several games on that list - Mario Galaxy 2, Zelda BotW and Mario Kart 8, but just haven't got around to playing them.

Welp, sitting tied for 51st with 117 points. Not really liking my chances of showing up on the very prestigious leader board, but I'd say this was a nice showing considering I have literally NEVER PLAYED ANY GAMES IN THIS CONTEST! Which really is a shame, I do own a few games, but haven't got around to them yet.

6 is awful and 8 doesn't even really count, but yeah it's last if you do count it.

2 is also unusually high.

You're awful! Wait, what are we talking about? Also there's 11 or 12 Mega Mans now, but I agree 8 is the worst.

Ha Undertale < Odyssey, as well as, DKC > DMC today, so that should ruin any hopes of reaching the leader board.

GameFAQs is known for being a site with text guides for old games. Much like newspapers, a majority of the loss is simply the natural decline of a dying way to ingest information.

There is probably still a little more that could have been done to mitigate that loss. Heck, I feel like it hasn't been THAT long since HTML guides finally became a thing. I noticed some games have links to video guides but it's not enough. If I need help on how to get past something in a newer game I tend to go to YouTube first.

Great points! I definitely agree YT is a major catalyst for the decline. I'd be curious to see how traffic has varied for similar sites (assuming there are any).

I'm not really sure how Gamefaqs could have better incorporated video into the site to stay modern (for lack of a better term), and it's probably too late now.

I also considered another reason; that being how games do a lot more hand-holding now with in-game tutorials that go way beyond what the 8-bit era through the PS1/N64 era instruction manuals provided. <Insert "Back in my day..." reference here>

The "None" option consistently got between 8% and 11% in all of the above polls. The time of the year didn't affect its percentage at all. So it's pretty apparent that the coronavirus situation is forcing a lot more people into a situation where they haven't gone outside at any point during the past 24 hours.

Absolutely insane how much the total users on this site has dropped over the years. Just looking at those polls:

2009: 107,940 total votes
2010: 72,951
2012: 43,504
2016: 20,504
2019: 11,548

Not sure if that is utter mismanagement running this site or more options causing users to look elsewhere, probably a bit of both.
