For context this video is clips of Reagan's administration answering questions about AIDS. They never took it seriously and Reagan didn't even deign to acknowledge HIV/AIDS for literal years. They're just laughing about it and making gay jokes the whole time. You can also hear the press yukking it up. Only one journalist was asking serious questions about it, the rest were just making gay jokes. It shows how messed up American culture was and how even the president of America embraced homophobia to the point of allowing a horribly painful disease to run rampant, the president is supposed to rise above that. He had no regard for their lives. Reagan would absolutely have taken it seriously if it had spread more among straight people. But because it mainly struck a beleaguered population, one that he personally didn't like, he decided to let them die while his administration joked with the press about the dying gays.

Trump's administration is incompetent and accidentally complicit with but it's not treating victims of COVID with the utter disdain Reagan showed toward AIDS victims.

Reading about the religious right's reaction to AIDS proves that there's no hate like "Christian love."

I feel like you should be able to admit you're outraged without being associated with certain political ideologies, if you will. Fuck everyone who's just using this as an excuse to virtue signal and be covertly racist.

But. Like, I'm glad that thankfully, this doesn't represent BLM, but I am so tired of the blatant stupidity and hypocrisy among black Americans, being one myself. We'll decry racism, hatred, and bigotry whenever it's directed at us, then turn around and spew the same kind of stupid shit towards others, often just because of what the Bible says, when it comes to Jews and LGBT. And with absolutely zero critical thought put towards our beliefs either.

If that's the case should the Minneapolis police have really been defunded then? Perhaps they require better training, documenting to ensure they're fit for the role etc.

In any case, these cops had nothing to do with Floyd and have been through a lot with these riots and the public turning on them. If you were in their position your mental health would more than likely not be in the best state. People love to shit on police but few understand the inherent stress of the job. At the end of the day they are still human beings with some scumbags sprinkled in.

Did you even read the article? It says you can shower, but not really hot and only scrub the "bits" regularly (underarms, groin, feet).

I still wash my hands, all the time, which remains an extremely important way to prevent communicable diseases.
I still rinse off elsewhere when Im visibly dirty, like after a run when I have to wash gnats off my face, because there is still the matter of society. If I have bed head, I lean into the shower and wet it down. But I dont use shampoo or body soap, and I almost never get into a shower.
At first I did smell bad, especially as I went without deodorant. I didnt quit cold turkey, but transitioned from a traditional aluminum-based stick to Soapwalla, which is just some plant oils and starches. Aluminum is the active ingredient in many deodorants, specifically because it works as an antibiotic. As annoying as it is when things that are marketed as naturalbecause, what does that meanSoapwalla works well. But Ive lately stopped that, too.

Lentz says their monthly rent, alone, is over $40,000.
The bar received some Paycheck Protection Program funds, but it was significantly less than the owners had expected, Lentz says. The bar sits next to the Stonewall National Monument, a national park, but it does not receive any federal funding.
The drinks the bar is serving through a window to patrons outside aren't cutting it either.
The Stonewall Inn is allowed to serve outdoors because New York has entered phase two of reopening. But Lentz says those sales are not making a dent in the bills.
Money raised through GoFundMe, according to Lentz, will go directly to the rent and insurance payments. The goal is to raise $100,000, which is just enough to get them out of the red, she says.
Lentz and the other owners are concerned that when they fully reopen tourists and their patrons won't return.
