Topic | July Game of the Month Club ft. Sleeping Dogs, The Silver Case, and Mulaka |
gameking1230438 07/31/20 10:35:38 PM #57 | Gameking has beaten Sleeping Dogs. Wasnt planning on it, but I ended up getting the platinum for this one. I'll probably finish up the DLC before starting Yooka-Laylee for August. --- |

gameking1230438 07/24/20 11:23:51 PM #36 | I've been working on Sleeping Dogs all month but have been taking my time with it. Looks like I'm about 80% finished with the story. I should finish it by the end of July. My nom for next month goes to Yooka-Laylee. --- |
Topic | June Game of the Month Club ft. Battle Chasers, Ori 2, and Crash Bandicoot 3 |
gameking1230438 06/22/20 2:58:11 PM #38 | Gameking has beaten Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Really enjoyed going back to this on the N. Sane Trilogy. Hopefully I'll get around to replaying the first two on it soon as well. I managed to 100% it too. I'll nominate Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and Kirby's Dream Land 3. --- |
Topic | May Game of the Month Club ft. ONRUSH, Gato Roboto, and Moonlighter |
gameking1230438 05/24/20 9:04:41 AM #73 | Gameking has beaten Onrush. Other than Mario Kart, I haven't played any modern racing games, but I enjoyed this quite a bit. I found the aesthetic pretty obnoxious, but once I muted it and got my Spotify account on my PlayStation, I had a lot more fun. My biggest issue with the game is that the takedown can often made me lose sight of what was in front of me. I wrecked far too many times because of this, and I really don't know why there wouldn't be an option to turn it off. It took me a while to figure out which vehicle worked best for me, but by the end, I was using the Titan whenever I could. My last nomination for next month will go to Deus Ex. --- |

gameking1230438 05/11/20 8:50:17 PM #46 | Gameking has beaten Moonlighter. I really was not feeling this game too much, but once I got the hang of the gameplay loop and upgraded the shop after the second dungeon, it clicked with me. I mainly used the spear and the bow. The difficulty is definitely predicated on the weapons and equipment you have, which made it too easy at times. I was at a good level for the third boss in the game and had a lot more fun with it than the others that ended up feeling more button mashy. It sounds like I'm complaining, but I did have a good time with it overall. I apparently got Onrush from PS+ at some point, so I'll play through that next. My first two noms will go to Final Fantasy XII and Iconoclasts. I'll also throw a vote to Crash Bandicoot: Warped. --- |

gameking1230438 05/06/20 6:22:32 PM #29 | I've been playing through Moonlighter on the Switch. Hit a few bugs that made me lose some progress much to my annoyance, but I managed to complete the first dungeon. I don't mind the gameplay loop, but I think the constant grinding for loot to craft better weapons and armor may get boring after a while. --- |
Topic | April Game of the Month Club ft. Chasm, Rabbids, Trails, Deiland, and Rayman |
gameking1230438 04/17/20 4:46:36 PM #46 | Gameking has beaten Mario + Rabbids. Had fun with this. Once it got going, the battle system was a lot of fun. Pulling off a really good turn always felt really rewarding. It started dragging a bit towards the end, and the sections in between battles weren't too exciting, but I enjoyed it enough that I started up the DLC a little while ago. I had intended to play either Trials or Rayman, but I probably won't beat them within the month. I'll at least start one of them, I think. I'll nominate Yooka-Laylee and Bioshock 2. --- |
Topic | March Game of the Month Club ft. Red Dead, Portal 2, Super Mario RPG, and Ys |
gameking1230438 03/16/20 2:45:30 PM #51 | Gameking has beaten Portal 2. I'm off work for the next two weeks, so I've got plenty of time to kill. Portal 2 was great. Glad this got me to finally play it. I'm not sure if I'll get to Undead Nightmare this month. I want to play through the main game first, so we'll see. My two noms will go to Thumper and Nioh. --- |
Topic | February Game of the Month Club ft. Tacoma, Crystalis, and OneShot |
gameking1230438 02/23/20 12:21:33 PM #58 | I didn't get around to posting this month, but I did beat both Crystalis and Tacoma. I really enjoyed Crystalis. While it did get frustrating at times, it had a really good atmosphere about it and there was something really nostalgic about it. Once you get good enough weapons, the difficulty eases up quite a bit too. Tacoma was fine. It didn't really blow me away. I like games like this, but the characters, who were the main focus of the game, were kind of boring. I didn't necessarily dislike the game, but it just really didn't interest me. For this month I'm going to nom Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Super Castlevania IV, and Life is Strange: Before the Storm. --- |
