Between how stupidly long the original timeline is (196 episodes and a movie for the original series, 175 episodes for G) and what I read about how IF appears to be more closely tied to the reboot timeline than the original timeline, I think I'll just watch the reboot instead. It's still fairly long at 97 episodes, but that's far more manageable than 371 episodes.Yeah the reboot is good too, but I think generally people like the original far better. IF does have ties to the reboot, but you won't feel lost if you watch the original. It's all the same characters and the same arcs and everything with minor (but crucial imo) differences. However, the length might definitely be a huge factor for choosing the reboot. Apparently, Cardfight Vanguard IF got picked up by Crunchyroll yesterday, so we get better video/subtitle quality now compared to Youtube. Plus, new episodes now come out on Friday nights instead of Saturday mornings, so I decided to throw this together:I'm a few eps bh but yeah as a kid, Aichi got bullied often, and Kai gave Aichi his Blaster Blade to cheer him up. Few years later, Aichi would slowly build his deck around Blaster Blade so that when he meets Kai, he can thank Kai for giving him hope by showing him that he can be independent and all that. Their friendship was pretty key to Aichi's character development, and as expected fujoshis took this as love and drew all sorts of heinous godless arts. For Vanguard, I recommend watching the original series and then Shin's series, the one that aired before IF. The original series is kinda excessively long. The reboot series is just an adaptation of the manga, but it's all the same character with similar arcs but very very slight differences everywhere. Up until now, there wasn't any implied connection between them, and the IF series Ibuki is a reboot universe Ibuki I believe. The original had two different series, 2nd one being G, where Ibuki is a deuteragonist, but the reboot series is actually not gonna do a reboot version of the G series, and IF is supposed to sorta fill that role. They're gonna move on to Overdress after IF is done. The season before IF is a prequel to the reboot series, starring one of the main character's uncle who runs the card shop and acts as a mentor to the main cast. That one is highly praised and acts as a really emotional backdrop to the character and the card shop that most of the series takes place in. His niece Misaki had a huge role as one of the main chars in the original, but bizarrely she has a much more subdued role as just a teammate in the reboot. I find it a hard game to ever recommend because of many reasons but if you can find a good guild, it's kinda fun. GX hits the right mark for some people, but the dub is not finished, and the last season which ppl usually say is what makes the series is sub locked and a very different tone due to it not being a dub. 5D's dub also leaves out one of its best seasons as well as some good duels (WRGP arc leaves out the Zushin duel which is terrific), but the entire series is so good that you can do without them if you really love the dub. Original obviously is charming in its own right and imo is this show perfectly in between GX and 5D's in terms of tone. The gimmick certainly didn't work because it's really hard to concentrate on 2 very detached but detailed screens. But it had a ton of really quality games, and the gamepad was oddly satisfying to use as a controller if not a bit heavy. They also wasted a ton of power transmitting to the gamepad screen, but it was actually a decently powerful console for the time to the point where the Switch wasn't really that much more powerful than the Wii U. ToL was a game with a ton of problems that I hated more often than not, but you know, it was definitely by far the best Tales gacha. It did fan service right and offered the most interesting gameplay out of the 3 I've played. It had a sustainable formula and went with it at full force. I only found out about this very small community due to a bizarre reddit bug that keeps showing posts I saw 4 years ago as a base for "latest view posts" panel, unless I view other posts in which it overrides those posts. Then like a week later it refreshes that little panel and shows me the 4 yr old posts for ToL again. Like when they had 1st edition ghost rares and ulti rares of staples in the 5D's sets, they've slowly gained price over the years. Obviously most of the big cards from the DM era are also seeing very slight growths. Monarchs is my favourite playstyle. Gaining advantage, summoning quick tribute fodder, and activating powerful effects off tribute monsters is very satisfying. I heard they now have specific archetype support cards and stuff. In 2011 its just generic cards with effects that lend themselves well to the playstyleMonarchs basically got a bunch of really good spells/traps that give you tributes and an upgraded form of all the monarchs. They kept their style but became more consistent and explosive without having to rely on any other summoning methods. I believe they literally only have effect monsters, no xyz/synchros etc. So they work well with cards that try to lock out extra decks. Just don't use Seal of Orichalcos. | legendarylemur 07/13/20 5:22:43 PM #302 | I rolled 1200 gems worth on the little mermaid banner in Sinoalice. Literally walked away with the 2 SRs I wanted (the SR Nightmare and the SR for Lil Mermaid/Minstrel) and 1 extra good SR for magic types. I didn't even need to roll the last step but did it anyways for the guaranteed SR, got a good healing staff from it. Really bolstered my power level, which has been a slow climb But I might drop the game soon lol. It's honestly not actually that fun. I've been insanely lucky and all but to get to a really high power lvl, it takes too much dedication and gachaing with very poor timing on weapon upgrade invades etc Also I don't quite see how playing as 2B will make me feel like 2B with the way the game is. --- "Iwata was awesome" - Mr. Nintendo https://imgur.com/krtFHol |
