I thought the ending was perfect. You don't need to explain everything, or wrap everything up perfectly. It's good to have some mysteries left on the table. That's why I'm a bit disappointed that they're continuing with the same characters for the sequel. Still really excited for it though.

Probably my favorite multiplayer game ever. Single player is great as well. Although, I still voted for Dark Souls today because that's my #1 game of the decade, but TLOU is in the top 5.

She remains a snotty little bitch the entire time, but the cast is just like "well, she's trying, I guess". No. She's not. Don't let her get away with that shit, you fucking morons. She is an absolutely terrible character and despite being another terrible character herself, Mikan at least deserves some credit for ridding us of the worst character in the series once and for all.

I like Hiyoko because she's unlikable. It's important to have some characters like that, and she fills that role well. I'd like to see more jerk characters, honestly. There's way too many "this character only committed murder because of this tragic situation" type scenarios.

If the Bloodborne rally is currently in force, then I think I like RE2's chances given that it's basically stalling.

Most people are asleep now, so that's a pretty good sign for BB to be stalling already.

And any BB rally should help Horizon, since they're both PS4 exclusives.

I wasn't super interested in a 90s contest but that bracket by greatone looks super cool. Lots of matches that could be debatable.

I'd like to see what a 90s GOTD bracket would look like if it was actually put together in early 2000. For starters, Street Fighter II & Doom would be seeded way higher than a 5 & 8 respectively. Also, games like Legend of Legaia (which always gets ignored these days) would be there.

Maybe I'll put together my own bracket to see what that would be like...

The r/PS4 subreddit recently concluded its "March Madness of Iconic Playstation Characters" tournament, so I thought I'd post the results here. I still feel good about Sonic Mania > Super Meat Boy. I'd take Ys over Slay the Spire without thinking, so for Sonic's percentage to be only 4-5% worse, it still should be the favorite. Really, you could say both Sonic/SMB are doing poorly.

I have a question about Fallout: New Vegas.

When that game came out, people lost their minds over how freaking glitchy it was (some of them were game-breaking, like sudden crashes), but apparently it's still supposed to be stronger than Fallout 4 despite the latter being the one who was pretty much as acclaimed and popular as Fallout 3 was? What's up with that?

All Bethesda open world games are glitchy, it's expected. That won't hurt NV any more than Skyrim.

Fans love NV because of the choices you have in your responses, and in how to complete the missions. 4 is way worse at being an rpg, even though the fps mechanics are improved.

I don't see Nioh winning after Shovel Knight beat Dragon's Dogma so easily in a similar matchup. Maybe Isaac is a bit below SK, and maybe Nioh is a bit above DD. But that just means it'll be 55-45 instead of 65-35.

I've noticed that the state by state results seem to be messed up lately. For example, it says no one from Colorado voted in Overwatch vs Death Stranding. Every poll seems to have several states with no votes and several with 100-0 results.

Why not? While I agree Shovel Knight has a lot of reasons to be stronger, I don't see Dragon's Dogma being worth much.

DD has a hardcore fanbase, but apparently it's not big enough to challenge one of the top indies. Makes you wonder why Binding of Isaac vs Nioh was way more debated when that matchup has a very similar dynamic.

81% on a Call of Duty game is more impressive than 87% on Inside. I still think RE2 should be favored in the next round vs Doom. In a contest where you have to vote for every match, I imagine a game like Doom benefits from that, since it's one of the rare series that doesn't seem to have any haters.

I made a list of every contest game's Metacritic score (except for Fate/Grand Order which doesn't have one). Looking at this, you can see how the bracket was likely heavily selected/seeded using these numbers. I took the highest score out of all the platforms a game was released on, and didn't include later ports, remasters, goty editions, and so on. Only ports from the same year were counted.

Only 4 games had a score in the 70s: Destiny, Dragon's Dogma, Dying Light, and Street Fighter. Three of those have a decent number of hardcore fans, so I could see them getting plenty of nominations (I dunno how to explain Dying Light, though). I'll also note that Fortnite's score is weird since it only has a few reviews, and some are from the single player version.

Let's assume that most voters won't be motivated by bracket votes, first of all.

Personally, I generally vote for the one I think I would like more, just based on my gaming history. First priority would be a game in the same series as one I liked. For example, I haven't played Dead Space 2, but I enjoyed the first one so I'll vote for that over Spiderman. I guess the genre and company play a role too.

Familiarity isn't always a good thing, though. Sometimes I'll vote against a game I've played, even though I haven't played its opponent. I haven't played Overwatch, but I disliked Death Stranding, so I'll be voting against that.
