They always need a strong frontman/woman, and unless it's Van Halen or AC/DC, you can replace the guitarist and most people wouldn't notice the difference. For a metal band, I'm split between guitarist and drummer. Good metal is highly based on pounding, driving rhythms, a wimpy drummer makes the whole band sound wimpy no matter how badass the stuff they're playing is. However, metal that doesn't bring the riffs is usually found in the trash bin, but lead guitarists matter a lot less unless it's tech death (and I say this as a lead guitarist, unless you've got someone in the top 0.01% of guitarists we're entirely replaceable with a wide variety to pick from) --- "I'm the straightest guy on this board. If you want a spider that will stay in your windowsill, you might need to go outside to find one. Typical indoor spider varieties prefer darkness even though they'd catch way more prey if they built their webs over a light source. I don't think the typical indoor spider needs to eat very often. Go outside and find yourself a spider sitting in the middle of a beautiful web, that's the kind of spider you want to catch flies. If things get bad and the country gets put on total lockdown, I'll be feeding three other people with some of that food when whatever they've got stockpiled runs out, but for just me I have about a year's supply of protein and can supplement the rest with growing, I even have grow lights to grow indoors year round. --- "I'm the straightest guy on this board.
