Ok sold with Perdue at 0.32. He was up as high as 0.38 but I stupidly was holding on to 0.4, and then he dipped all the way down to 0.29 or so before climbing back up to 0.34 when he briefly took the lead.

I think there is still a chance Purdue jumps back up but I'll just take the money and run for now. Thanks UE!

...that is a huge potential return on Purdue, who I do expect to close a lot here coming up. I could easily see him getting up to 40 cents, at the absolute worst. I still think I'll abstain for now. Day of votes are a bit too unpredictable for my liking still.

I was too scared this time to jump on it, so not me at least.

I'm tempted to get in now on the other side, but I'll probably pass. I expect at least somewhat of a swing towards republicans, and I've learned in the past month or so how absolutely dumb hardcore trumpers can be with their money. I would expect a swing back towards republicans as more day of votes come in, regardless if it is enough or not. I think I'll abstain and just hold on my winnings from before but the price point is worth mulling over if you think the margins will close and republicans on predictit are dumb, regardless of how you view what the actual outcome will be.

We're waiting for serious election day results to come in. That should tell us which way it is going to go.

Silver has floated what sounds like a credible theory in that attacking mail in ballots for an additional two months might skew mail ins further democratic and day of votes further republican. So even though they're running ahead of their numbers so far it could be an even bigger swing in the other direction coming.

So I have no hope one way or another yet.

I've been following this for weeks on thedonald and alt right Twitter.

The threats are real and numerous. I just don't know if these are idiots LARPing or if they intend to actually do something. But basically they view Pence as their last hope. I don't know what happens after that but there have been a ton of worrying suggestions on these places.

There's been a huge swing towards the republicans on PredictIt within the last hour. Trying to dig through the replies to see if it is based on anything or if it is just hopeful Republicans jumping on their candidates being under fifty cents. Claims are that voting is up in rural areas too, but I haven't seen any concrete data to back that up so it might just be smoke.

That's why I said you could take the DeKalb bit either way. As Cohn says in the tweet thread, is it simply an augur that Dem turnout is super high or is it a sign that turnout is going to be up across the board which would play in the favor of the Republican candidates?

I agree that the hearsay has been "turnout high in the cities/suburbs, lower in the rural areas" which is basically the dream scenario for Democrats pulling a victory here but I'm not sure we have much in terms of hard data to validate that hearsay, at least I haven't seen any from any of the usual data guys yet.

Yeah, like you and UE I've seen some of the same sort of things from Twitter, but I have a hard time believing it. I'll be watching with interest tonight, but a lot of the promising things I've seen have been somewhat anecdotal or have multiple interpretations or are based on polls and I still have not yet come back around to trusting polls where Trump is involved even tangentially.

This is also such a ridiculous uphill climb. It is a state that just swung blue by the narrowest of margins, against two incumbents, in an off year, when the democrats just won the presidency. If the democrats win then it is a miracle confluence of events (or Trump's messaging of "voting is hopeless abandon hope all ye who enter the voting booth" combined with McConnell's "naw I'm not even putting this wildly popular bill up for a vote" actually made a difference).

I know I bring this up all the time, but after Obama won democrats lost a senate seat like this in Massachusetts and Illinois. Georgia is a much swingier state at the moment and it is really hard to see democrats having an advantage here.

We'll see shortly though!

Chapter 2: Daily Life Thoughts: Part 1: The Part Where 2020 Suprak Catches Up to 2016 Suprak: Colon: The Coloning

• Nagito: But people who cant winpeople who dont try to winpeople who try their best and still cant winthey are all worthless trash. Nagito sounds equal parts crazy and college football coach who is afraid hell get fired if he loses the next game.
• Nagito: No matter how much a penguin tries, theres no way it will ever soar through the sky. Someone clearly hasnt watched Happy Feet 2.
• Nagito has very strong opinions on the natures vs nurture debate and hes going to take up five minutes at the start of the chapter here to make sure you hear all about it.
• Nagito: Admiration iswising you could be like the object of your admiration. Nagito I just checked and you cant define a word by using the same word again. Thats cheating. Transubstantiation iswhen something is transubstantiated.
• I apparently have a lot of thoughts on this Nagito monologue. One more. He says he is fine if someone kills him because I want to see with my own two eyesthe absolute hope that lies ahead. Psst Nagito if you let someone kill you you wont be able to see anything with your own two eyes.
• uh did someone kill Nagito? Someone interrupts his monologue to tell him to shut up and then some sort of attack happens and then the scene fades outs. I not complaining, but I definitely do not remember him dying so Im assuming he was just knocked out for now.
• Hiyoko, on wondering why it seems like everyone is bummed out over yesterday: Still I understand about Mr. Ham Hands, but is there even a reason for us to be sad about Teruterus death? Shh guys everyone shut up. Shes making a great point.
• Holy shit Akane sets up Hiyoko with the longest ya stank joke of all time. I dont think she even means to be a joke, but Hiyoko is being a jerk and then Akane stands there sniffing for a while asking if anyone smells that terrible smell. Then lets it build up for another couple of minutes, and then says the stinkiness if coming from Hiyoko and everyone yells "OOOOOOO!" really loud like when someone dissed someone else back in 7th grade science class.
• Apparently she hasnt been bathing because she doesnt know how to tie her kimono sash. Everyone agrees she smells. Mahiru volutneers to help, partially because she is a nice person and partially because that stank is interfering with her camera lens.
• Nekomaru and Kazuichi both immediately crack when someone brings up the fact Nagito isnt here. So we can probably cross these two off the list of potential murderers. Theyd be crying and speaking Cajun haflway through the first nonstop debate.
• Monomi has opened up another island for us to explore by beating the robot guardian. Everyone is excited to find a way off the island. Hate to tell you guys. There isnt going to be one. I know there are six chapters and I doubt chapter 3-6 are you guys relaxing at home after Kazuichi McGuyvers a ship.
• I have no clue what happens but Hajime somehow gets late night Cinemax access to Hiyoko and Mahiru showering together. The cops are called shortly thereafter and a tearful Hajime is lead away in handcuffs in front of his friends and family.
• Ibuki screams on the beach and the music turns to oh no someone is being murdered music. Turns out Nekomaru and Akane are just fighting each other. Nekomaru kicks her ass even though hes wearing sandals. Akane will never get her black belt at this rate.
• The shower in the beach house is out of order. Monokuma needs better handymen for his death games.
• Kazuichi: Im never gonna give her up! Hajime: You might let her down, though.. Dang a Rick Roll burn. Truly the most devastating of all the burn subtypes.
• The pamphlet to Jabberwock Island is in English, a language Hajime has somehow never seen before. Luckily Sonia knows 30 languages including the one they are both currently speaking so it isnt a problem.
• Monokuma hints THE ENTIRE ISLAND is artificial and both Sonia and Hajime assume he must be lying which leads me to believe he is actually telling the truth!
• We find a book that talks all about serial killers including Genocide Jack. Hopefully the summary is just she kinda sucks and was one of the worst parts of any cast she might appear in.
• Haha Sonias mosttight! voice line is awesome and I hope she uses that a lot.
• We learn about some Sparkling Justice serial killer and now I have to hope that of all the plot points in the first game, they dont reuse the absurdly dumb actually someone here is a serial killer! one.
• The ancient ruin is clearly Hopes Peak Academy. No one else seems to think anything of this except Hajime who is like oh I guess I can see the resemblance maybe nah its probably nothing even though they show almost the exact same same school in a flashback.
• In continuing with the theme of obvious things people somehow dont notice, everyone except Chiaki somehow seems to miss the massive chaingun next to the door. It is pointing like directly at the screen to enter the password and multiple people are queuing up to touch it like they have a death wish.
• Monokuma shows up to let us in on the people that did this to us a shadowy organization called World Ender that ended the world. I look forward to meeting the heroic group of adversaries that are trying to stop them, called TEMPORARY AUTHOR PLACEHOLDER NAME 6.
• Kazuichi and Nekomaru knocked out Nagito and are keeping him tied up in the abandoned hotel place where he can't bother anyway. They didn't tell this to anyone because it was a "shockingly good idea" and they were worried it didn't fit with their previous characterization.
• FREE TIME! I spend it all with Hiyoko because I'm kind of curious if she will be nicer to me in free time than she is in regular time. She is not.
• Monokuma calls us down to show us this new video game he made. It is called "Danganronpa" and we get sucked into a singularity.
• It is actually called Twilight Murder Mystery Syndrome (or something close to that), a sequel to some game Chiaki knows because she has her PhD in made up video games.
• Oh this is the motive for the next killing. Psst hey guys just don't play it. Problem solved!
• Wow Monokuma being revealed as an indie game developer combined with that world ender twist was so mind blowing it shouldve been called game ender because that is where my notes stop. No clue why I stopped right after the next motive was introduced but, alas, this is where we must bid adieu to past Suprak. Farwell jerk! Have fun living the next four years under the Trump presidency.

• Oh jeez who let Nagito go into a crazy monologue? Also, you defined the word admiration with admiration, so I dont think that counts.

• This debate about whether or not we should feel sad about Teruterus death interrupted by Hiyokos putrid body odor. She isnt taking showers apparently. How has no one noticed this before right now?
• Whoa were like where is Nagito and Nekomaru is like I DONT KNOW WHAT DO YOU MEAN I DIDNT KISS HIM IM NOT WEIRD NO YOURE WEIRD MAN. Whats with the random outburst, crazy person?
• Monomi apparently defeated one of those weird mechanical monsters for us. Aw yeah more island to explore.
• Mahiru wants to go explore the new island, but Hiyoko insists they go wash each other. Phew, almost went a full five minutes without fanservice I thought my eyes were going to fall out due to boredom.
• Hajime has a weird break down where he blurts out about man nuts and his urges and he goes to watch Mahiru and Hiyoko shower. Ive seen porn where the sex scenes are better integrated into the plot than this. Here it is just like murder talk murder talk murder talk VAGINA murder talk murder talk. Give me some heads up, I might be playing this in public, man.
• Talking to Fuyuhiko is like getting shaken down by a five year old for my lunch money only Im twenty six and could shove him in a nearby trash can if I wanted to. He sort of has Byakuyas arrogance from the first game, but his design is so weird I cant take him seriously. Hes a jerk to me in the diner and I give him a noogie so hell shut up.
• Nekomarua and Akane are training because first thing you do when you find a new island to explore is start fighting for fun. Nekomaru wins handily and hes like jeez you cant even beat a mere trainer. Dude youre like 200 pounds heavier and a foot taller than her give her a break.
• There is this weird scene where Monomi talks about how changing in the beach house is against the rules and Monokuma shows up with a gun to shoot the rule breaker. BOLD SUPRAK PREDIX: Kazuichi will trick someone into changing in the pool house, getting them killed.
• Hajime walks into an enormous library and has the thought Its probably a library jeez what gave it away?
• Ugh Sonia finds a magazine talking about Genocide Jack. WHY I THOUGHT I WAS DONE WITH HERRRRRRRR. How rude, game.
• There is then a ten minutes aside on Sparkling Justice, a serial killer who only kills criminals. If this game reuses the whole oops there is also a serial killer here too, sorry angle I will actually cry. Sonia is super into it too. Likeweirdly into it.
• Oh wow Sonia has more information. Something something this island might actually be an artificial construct made to look like Jabberwock Island. Then shes like nah thats crazy but Monokuma shows up to confirm it and blame it on the evil organization and other mysterious stuff that wont be answered until chapter 6. What a jerk.
• There is an ancient ruin here that Chiaki finds that looks just like Hopes Peak Academy, and Hajime convinces himself it is just a coincidence. Oh yeah sure, I know tons of ancient civilizations that built buildings to look like futuristic boarding schools.
• There is some futuristic door with symbols drawn on it and both Monokuma and Monomi show up to be like uh door what door pay no attention to the door who here wants to do somersaults. Something is up with this door for sure.
• Apparently even Monokuma and Monomi cant enter that door. INTERSTING. Monomi is surprised and says that Monokuma must be just like her and gets rocket punched to the moon before she can finish who that and is supposed to be. DOUBLE INTERESTING. Perhaps one person here is also some sort of weird robot? They'll rip off their mask and reveal another small bi-color creature underneath?
• Monokuma then tells us about World Ender, the group of extremely uncreative terrorists that wanted to end the world and did so. We see a city that looks like Superman just fought supervillain up and down every street and Monokuma tells us the world has already ended by the time the game starts. Jeez, what a downer.
• Nobody believes it (naturally it sounds crazy), but Monokuma insists they are the final boss. Im like 85% sure that the traitor that works for World Ender is actually me, mr. convenient memory loss.
• We meet for breakfast and find out the reason that Kazuichi and Nekomaru have been acting weird. They tied up Nagito and hid him in the old mansion so he cant do anything crazy. Thatactually seems like a good idea. Why were you hiding this?
• The beach house is 100% going to be the murder scene. Theres like twenty things to look at here.
• More free time with Akane. She says she knows an awesome place to eat and drags me toAHHHH ITS THE STORAGE ROOM SHES GOING TO EAT ME
• Now Monokuma calls us to the park with a BIG SURPRISE and like two thirds of the cast cant figure out what it is in spite of the enormous screen taking up half the park that wasnt there before. Mikan, Chiaki, and Mahiru really are our only hope here so hopefully they dont die anytime soon otherwise well get trapped here when no one can open their doors.
• Monokuma reveals he is an indie game developer and Im starting to consider the possibility he is actually Phil Fish.
• Hiyoko: I wanna play games about riddle-solving professors or collecting cute monsters. Damn, Hiyoko, high five for good gaming tastes. Also, it is pretty hilarious that both games they referenced are Nintendo titles. I mean, I know the Vita library is pretty thin but you couldnt throw it a bone here, Hiyoko?
• Hiyoko: But adventure games are boring and tedious to play, right? I take it back, gimme back those cool points. This game has so much self referential humor its insane. It might be the most meta game Ive played.
• Monokuma says this game is the next motive for killing people. He apparently went to the Gone Home school of game design. We all debate whether or not we should play it for a while.
• Chiaki: Motive or otherwise, it doesnt matterI wont let another killing happen. Damn Chiaki just marked herself for death. I liked her, too.

I no longer have an interest in polls after 2016 and 2020 were both off significantly. One of the more accurate pollsters of the last cycle was basically someone who went "yeah I just add Trump votes to the samples because I feel like he should be doing better".

I know 2018 was very close and I still follow Nate Silver for analysis and an in depth look into the state of polling. But I see no reason to be excited about polls when polls also showed Susan Collins was going to lose and she crushed her opponent. I'm extremely interested in Tuesday's results, and that's about it!

Im a little late but I always thought Dore was one of the most exhausting parts of Breadtube (although Im not sure he was ever really part of it but sort of adjacent proximity).

Recently though hes shown his whole ass every chance he gets. AOC is concerned with getting things done and Dore is concerned about appearing pure to his YouTube followers and thats why youre seeing this divide.

Any movie that appears on Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Disney+ or Peacock is a yes for me and all others are no. I have enough movies that I do not want to buy or rent any more, but if I can easily stream it then Ill definitely watch.

16. Byakuya

15. Teruteru He gets points for making me feel bad for him right before he died. He loses points for killing one of my favorite characters through an idiotic mistake. The game finally figured out to kill of the fat annoying pervert right away, which is a step up from last game where Hifumi waddled around for half the game sucking all the fun out.

14. Gundham This dude has basically no chance. I almost strangled him myself when he was babbling for like half the trial. Being the weird loner that makes hamsters have sex with each other isnt the recipe for longevity in a murder competition.

13. Kazuichi Crazy shark toothed mechanic. If the artist drew him without the explicit instructions to make it obvious he was a murderer, he messed up, badly. I dont know why Jared Leto as the Joker took a part time gig in a video game, but here is the end result of it.

12. Peko Again, being an ultimate swordsman is a bit of a hindrance here. The game doesnt want to keep her around, shes too strong and competent. Shell get killed, possibly by some sort of sword to confuse everyone as to how it could happen.

11. Nekomaru ON THE NEXT EPISODE OF YEP, ITS SHIT NEKOMARU TRIES TO FIGURE OUT WHETHER OR NOT IT IS TRUE THAT HE WHO SMELT IT, DEALT IT. Decent comic relief character that is too big and strong to make it to the end.

10. Sonia The game is basically setting her up for failure here. They killed off Byakuya because he was the leader, now we just need a physical force and moral force to get stabbed in the face and we have the perfect despair trifecta. There is no one more moral here than the literal princess begging everyone to get along and be friends, meaning she has no chance of making it to the end.

9. Hiyoko Its getting sort of tough here, because I can see a lot of these characters living from here on out when clearly they cant. The first game had no shortage of characters you knew were going to get thrown into the woodchipper eventually, but here there are actually a pretty decent amount of well rounded, potentially interesting characters so its hard. I like Hiyoko and she is my Gundham hating partner in crime, but she might also be a lunatic. There are flashes where it hints she is just sort of a normal girl, but there is something cruel to her as well were I could see her getting caught when we catch her playing in a puddle of blood.

8. Akane So far we know she likes to eat and is really dumb and also doesnt remember anyones name. I doubt shes smart enough to pull off a murder plot and also so dumb the people arent likely to kill her. She might make it to the end, but she really needs to get some sort of personality put together by then she has to do something other than ME HUNGRY ME WANT EAT eventuallyright? I guess the game might be getting ready to kill her off soon and figures she doesnt need any characterization but its hard to say for sure either way.

7. Fuyuhiko Im going through this list and Im realizing this game is pretty terrible with male characters. All the female characters are strong or interesting and all the guys kind of suck. Fuyuhiko actually has a decent shot of making it as he is really the only one I can see being put through a somewhat okay character arc. Like, hes crazy annoying now, but they kept hinting that he wanted to go to the party and have friends but couldnt bring himself to do it. Sort of like this games Byakuya. *sniff sniff* Miss you Byakuya

6. Nagito I know the game is basically jumping up and down right now to tell me how this guy is going to be a murderer or get murdered or help people do the murdering or something, but theres no way theyre killing him off yet. Hell be around to the very end. The game isnt going to kill off the main antagonist/trouble maker right away.

5. Ibuki Shes right in that niche of weird enough to be memorable, but not so weird that she comes off as psychotic. Shes also competent enough athletically without being so big and strong that the game is just waiting to take her down a peg. Pretty decent shot at survival.

4. Hajime There is some weird sort of thing going on with him and Nagito. Nagito keeps looking at me all weird like WERE THE SAME LETS MAKE FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS. We might be the Despair 1-2 combo like the first game had. I still thinks he makes it to the end, but there is a slight chance he dies off at the ending.

3. Mahiru These top three are really the only ones that were any damn use to me in the trial. Everyone else was standing around making armpit farts and hooting like monkeys. I feel pretty good about all of them surviving, but Mahiru was just a smidge less memorable than the other two. She probably makes it to the end, though.

2. Chiaki She really stepped up during the whole trial thing. With Byakuya dead and Nagito and raving lunatic, I was trying to figure out who the game would use in the whole psst why dont you try doing this role when the trial needs to get push forward in a way they cant think of working into the gameplay. Chiaki probably winds up sharing that role with Mahiru, which should bode well for both of them.

1. Mikan Im honestly surprise her top didnt pop open during the trial at any point, but the game seems intent on pushing the whole clumsy nurse that falls into compromising positions angle. You know, the oldest trope in the book. Between her relative competence in the trial, her role in evidence examination, and the fact she cant go more than two minutes without getting naked, shes basically guaranteed to make the end.

General Thoughts:
I don't know if I like this case better or case one of the first game better. I loved the twist in the first game where Sayaka was actually trying to frame you, but this one was probably more interesting overall. And it was one I clearly didn't have figured out instantly from the name being written on the scene

2016 Suprak raises a great point about the timeline not making sense. There were roughly eight lines of dialogue Ibuki heard. Teruteru cannot do all the things he needed to do in that time frame. The lights would've come back on and he would still be trying to drape the sheet around him.

There are like ten different things I commented almost the same thing on in 2016 as I did this time around. I'm basically stealing my own jokes without knowing it.

I forgot how much the mini-games really get in the way here. I'm still having fun, but for some of these (especially Hangman's Gambit) I'm just clenching my teeth and hoping to get through them as quickly as possible.

This is a fun cast so far! I feel like no matter who dies coming up, I'm going to be disappointed. If I were to tier how much I liked all the characters, I think it'd go:
Characters I like and would be sad to see die: Hiyoko, Gundham, Sonia, Mahiru, Nekomaru, Nagito
Characters I like and would be mildly bummed about dying: Hajime, Chiaki, Ibuki
Characters I am indifferent about and hope they get kicked out before the others: Peko, Kazuichi, Akane
Fuyuhiko: Fuyuhiko

More daily life is nice and at least I can get used to being around these characters a bit more before someone dies.

• Improved Hangmans Gambit you motherfuckers better be using that word IRONICALLY because I hate this. You know what isnt fun? Waiting thirty seconds for the letter you need to actually appear. Also, either you know the word and youre just slowly waiting for the game to finish or you dont and you have to kind of guess from the letters youre getting. Either way isnt fun.
• I have to select Gundham as the person who knows how to get under the floorboards, and when you scroll past Teruteru the expression on his face can only be described as pants shitting terror. Its a nice touch. Thats what you get for killing a vastly superior character, you scum.
• Hiyoko: There he goes blabbing about power and crapYoure ridiculous! Youre just a breeder, yknow! That sounds like something youd find on the r/childless subreddit, but Ill let that go for now.
• All attention now turns to Fuyuhiko as the only guy who wasnt at the party and Mahiru does a killer Fuyuhiko impression where she makes him sound like a total IDIOT. Thats why you get when you act like a child, baby Mafioso.
• Fuyuhiko: Im not the killer. Mahiru: You said you could kill earlier. Fuyuhiko: BITCH ILL KILL YOU FROM UNDER THE FLOORBOARDS. Paraphrased, but pretty close to the actual conversation here. Fuyuhiko you dummy that might not be the best retort at the moment.
• I do really like how consent was added this time so youre not just trying to disprove things. I remember this working well during my initial partial playthrough, and it definitely stands out as a major improvement this time as well.
• I dont quite know why this portable stove was needed. There is a single hallway connecting the kitchen to the storage room. Just follow the hallway all the way to the door and theres no need for any portable stove shenanagins.
• I dont think this portable stove theory is as airtight as Hajime seems to think it is. He says it has to be the source of lightbut couldnt someone have hidden a flashlight somewhere? Or followed the wall like I said before? There was no conclusive proof that the portable stove had to be a light source. Just that it could, theoretically have been a light source.
• Well Teruteru went full Cajun. Clearly this means he is the person who murdered that crawdad er I mean human.
• Teruteru: Oooh I was born n West Azabu and raised n South Aoyama! I dont know enough about Japanese geography to know if this is supposed to be a hilarious joke like if you hear someone with a southern accent say well boy howdy I am from the south side of Chicago I tell ya what. But Im guessing it is supposed to be something like that.
• Oh hahahaha this is why Mikans vagina is a clue. How surprisingly clever. Ok, I will take back what I said and declare that scene only 99% fanservice then.
• Undone by his own perviness! Which, as it so turns out, is the way most prevents tend to be undone, honestly.
• OH NO NOT MORE SPELLING! MONOKUMA I CHOOSE DEATH JUST END THIS
• Teruterus curse he yells out as hes defeated is Avrillavigne!!! which is something Im going to start yelling too

• Oh. That silly mini-rhythm game returns too. Is there any weird genre the game wont try to cram in here to get in the way of the fun?
• Akane is going to eat the entire thing to see if there is an iron skewer hidden inside. Seems like a bad idea considering the iron skewer is coated in blood and the meat on the bone has been sitting there for like four hours now and is probably cold and hard and gross. But I guess Akane needs to find some way to be useful, too.
• Chiaki: Hey NagitoIm sorry but can you just be quiet. Ooh sassy Chiaki best Chiaki.
• And the comic book mini-game makes an appearance. I dont hate this one, but it is just kinda boring. Again, anything that takes me further away from the nonstop debates is going to be something I probably dont like as much.
• Of course this comic has a Peko on the toilet picture. LET THE POOR WOMAN HAVE SOME DIGNITY, GAME!
• OH. Thats what a portable stove is. I call those things hot plates. I was imagining like this actual stove you could carry around. Like an easy bake oven but a little bigger. This makes way more sense.
• Wow I do not remember Teruteru straight up bawling like this. Makes me feel a little bad for him. Did any of the killers in the last game sob when they got caught? Definitely not Sakura. Definitely not Celeste. I dont remember Leon or Mondo crying either. Interesting touch here.
• Teruteru saying he was only trying to save us by stopping Nagito rings hollow. Because if you killed him instead we all still die if you get away with it. You know what couldve helped instead? You going hey guys Nagito hid a knife someone should probably grab it.
• Nagito: See, isnt it typical that if you face a strong enemy, you will become even stronger yourself? Which meansthe stronger the despair you face, the stronger everyones hope will become, right? Iwant to see that brightness. And in order to see it, Im going to become everybodys stepping stone. I think Nagito is going to be a really fun antagonist this game. And it is interesting to have him out in the open like this.
• Monokuma says it doesnt matter if it was accidental or in self defense, a murder is a murder. I wanna talk to your supervisor because theres such a thing as justifying homicide, bucko. Oh wait this isnt a real court? Excuse me Ill see myself out.
• Teruteru finally admits he is a no good scoundrel and wasnt trying to just protect us. Monokuma managed to point out the inconsistency in his logic and he breaks down immediately. You cant fool Monokuma. Hes done this before!
• Teruterus mom brushing aside her major health scare: Ill be fine. Moms are strong. Teruterus mom and the moms are tough mom from the beginning of FFXIII would be best friends in a video game mashup.
• I gotta say this ending really does help my overall opinion of Teruteru. Him sobbing for his mother and begging Monokuma to just tell him if shes ok is a rough way to go and humanizes him a lot more than handsy pervert that wont shut up about his tiny penis.
• DEEP FRIED TERUTERU. Great first execution, imo.
• Sonia saves the group from imploding by giving a heartfelt speech about everyone doing their best and working to ensure no one else dies while theyre here. Sonias stock shoots up in the Suprak favorite character power rankings, but goes way down in the who is going to live power rankings since the last guy who tried to rally us wound up stabbed underneath a table.
• Hajime stares up into the night sky and gets a feeling someone is watching him. Yeah. Monokuma. Havent you noticed the cameras everywhere?

2020 Suprak Has Thoughts Too!

• Akane wants to start the judicial process here by PUNCHING. That is the LAPD method and it is not approved anywhere else, Akane.
• They ease me back into the nonstop debates with only one statement I can object to and only three truth bullets to pick from. As Kazuichi is the dumbest of the group, it falls to him to say the dumb thing I must refute.
• Hiyoko: Too bad youre sooooooo stupid and boring and unpopular! Your life is meaningless! Hiyoko also got into the school as the Ultimate Roastmaster, I think.
• I forgot how much Nagito lead the trial here the first time. I wonder if past Suprak was legitimately tricked by him or if I knew something was up. (UPDATE: He was not tricked that Nagito was bad, but did fall for his initial trick of trying to prove he was the murderer)
• They now all take turns wondering why Byakuya was under the table. No one guesses he was chasing after a loose dinner roll, so they are nice people than I am.
• Peko tries to say Byakuya couldnt see in the dark, and I have to present my night vision goggles to her to get her to admit defeat. See, this is why you shouldnt be pooping for 45 minutes during a murder investigation. Get some Imodium from the supermarket next time.
• Ok like three separate times ALREADY I have gotten a version of this dialogue. Hajime: Thing X is what happened. Other person: So youre saying thing X is the thing that happened? Writers for Danganronpa, you can do better than this!
• Oh a mini-game. Rebuttal showdown. Fun. I dont quite get the point of this one. It is sort of like a nonstop debate except I need to do this lame cutting minigame first. I never understood why Danganronpa diluted the gameplay with these. I have yet to meet a single person that liked them in the first game, and I doubt they get any better here.
• Some of these are a bit too easy. How did Byakuya know a murder might occur. *checks evidence* Hmmwell I have something here calledmurder threat. Could be that. Could be Mikans vagina. Really tough choice here guys. When theyre this easy, you can probably just skip the gameplay part of it and let the script do the work, guys.
• I seeHis strong sense of responsibility as our leader was his undoing No the moron decision he made to gather everyone in a room and not search the guy cleaning it or the guy preparing the food who he let in early, which was a second moron decision, was his undoing.
• Like I dont understand what Byakuya's plot was for after. Say the night was a success. Does he think the murderer was going to kill on that night and that night only? Was he a werewolf? The killer could just try to kill again at a different night, dumb dumb. Snacks doesnt fix that. You need to warn us something is up.
• Hajime: Among us, whos the onewho killed Byakuya. Well red is pretty sus I can say that for sure.
• Ibuki: Eek! Peko killed poor Byakuya!? Was this island not big enough for two glasses-wearers!? Glasses envy: the number one cause of death amongst the nearsided.
• Nekomaru: If she locked herself in the bathroom for that long, theres no doubtits shit. Were lucky to have Nekomaru, worlds foremost shit detective, on the case of how long is too long for it to just be pee?
• Im confused what Teruterus sexuality is supposed to be. He seems to get turned on by everything, including pooping under poor lighting conditions.
• Nagito gets to the next level crazy and Hajime asks the very important question of what the hell is wrong with you? The answer, Hajime, is everything.
• Sonia is shocked at Nagito implying they havent made any progress yet. Huh? Even though we have been arguing for so love? Sonia chill its been like ten minutes. You guys are fine.
• Nagito: Instead of surviving by doubting others, isnt it better to get killed for believing in others? Yeah, thats gonna be a no from me, dog. (I do like Nagitos commitment to lunacy though!)
• This whole the killer used the lamp cord to guide them to the table seems needlessly convoluted. Couldnt they just, I dunno, stand next to the table at 11:30 since they knew the time the lights would go out?
• Or hey, look where the table is before the lights go out. Stand anywhere you can walk to it in a straight line. BOOM youve found the table with no need for your crazy power cord plan.
• Everyone is getting ready to lynch Nagito. HOLD ON GUYS I HAVE A HUNCH HES JUST A LUNATIC NOT A MURDERER.
• Oh his eyes are weird blue swirls. Hey guys how did we not notice that right away? That shouldve been a dead giveaway this dude was nuts. Sane people dont have spirals for eyes. You never see a guy with eye spirals and hes just an accountant.
• Ibuki: Holy crap! Hes *totally* the type of guy who spent his childhood killing neighborhood pets! That is a very accurate assessment Ibuki and I wish I had thought of it.
• Sonia: He seems like the sort of person whose eyes light up while watching Friday the 13thJust like me. Sonia just realy likes hockey masks guys though, not brutal murders. Seriously. No need to be concerned. Ha. (Hey guys write this down for a later case to use as evidence.)
• The more I think about this the dumber Byakuya is. He gets an anonymous letter from someone saying a murder will occur, then takes Nagitos advice to have everyone gather at the musty old building and then lets him, the person who suggested the place, go into the place by himself with no supervision. Byakuya you were like ten times smarter than this last game. Thats like eight errors of judgment all combined into one.
• I always pick the wrong answers in those pick four choices things just to see if someone says something funny ala Phoenix Wright, but not so much so far. However, when I accuse Nagito of being the Ultimate transporter, Teruteru says Of course! Then you obviously wear a red fundoshi! Is this a reference anyone understands? I feel like this is a Japan based reference and Im too ignorant to get it.
• Ok accusing Nagito of being the Ultimate Babyface just to have everyone give Fuyuhiko a side eye look and him get mad was worth it. That was pretty good at least.
• Mikan jumps in to stop everyone from committing mass accidental suicide via the Nagito deception. Truly she must be the ultimate nurse.
• Nagito finally admits he is a FAILURE and cant even kill anyone right. Jeez. Even Leon figured out how to kill in the last game, and he was so incompetent he left his name written at the crime scene.
• Mikan is absolutely killing it at this class trial. She brings up another point I didnt even think of: Nagito is clean. Byakuya exploded blood so really it is bizarre for there to be no blood on any one else in the dining hall. That should clearliterally all of them, all at once. Man, it wouldve been nice if they couldve worked this into a nonstop debate somehow instead of quizzing me on Byakuya being worried about the worrisome note.
• I feel like a lot of the times the killers go through such insane lengths to set up a murder, like Teruteru did here, but the end result is literally only they couldve been the murderer because of three or four details the overlook. Next game someone should just straight up stab someone while walking somewhere and run away. I feel like that is much more difficult to solve than all these Rube Goldberg plots that end up failing miserably.

And I also think in the time it would take the killer to think to grab the stove, run to the storage room, move the boxes, sneak under the boards, shimmy to where Byakuya happened to belikeno. This would take way to long and why would they even assume that Byakuya would be under the table for them to stab in the first place?
• TERUTERU I KNEW IT. Worst character killing one of the best. Not cool man.
• Hmm Nagito seems to be running interference for Teruteru. Interesting. Maybe theyre working together, and Nagito just wants all the ultimates to die! Tsk tsk mean ol Nagito.
• Whoa when Teruteru loses his mind he suddenly turns into a cajun. Weird way for a character to melt down, but eh, Ill take it!
• It all comes together! Poop saves one character and gratuitous nudity condemns a second! Even Teruterus pervyness plays a role! Cookies for everyone!
• Monomi is now translating for Teruteru >_> Reminds me of that scene from airplane.
• Man, did I not miss those panic talk actions and closing arguments.
• Teruteru claims he murdered Byakuya when he was accidentally trying to kill Nagito. Yeah, you realize that wed all get killed anyway, right?
• Nagito is determined to sacrifice himself so we can all become even more HOPEY and POWERFUL than before. And Teruteru knew this. And instead of telling anyone, his brilliant plan was to secretly murder Nagito and then ????
• Chiaki also thinks Byakuya probably saw Teruteru under the floorboards and was protecting Nagito. GREAT PLAN BYAKUYA. This crazy dude is just going to try and kill again and you threw yourself onto a meat skewer for him. Also, you probably couldve yelled or flipped the table over or something instead of getting yourself killed. Total Leon move there, pal.
• Would have been better if Nagito was just an agent of chaos and was helping Teruteru from the beginning instead of this overly convoluted crazy plan, too.
• Yeah Monokumas explanation makes the most sense that Teruteru just saw an opportunity to kill Nagito and took it to get off the island. Interesting bit of back story with Teruteru and his mom. ALMOST makes me feel bad for him. Yknow. If he hadnt just tried to kill me. Him begging to find out what happened to his mother as he is dragged away for his deathpoor guy. Execution pretty solid, too.
• Moms are tough says Teruterus mom. Somewhere that lame mom from Final Fantasy XIII is slowly nodding her head in approval.
• Also Ibuki why the hell couldnt your super hearing tell us the fat kids voice was coming from beneath the floor. Im no hearing expert and even I can tell when someone is speaking from like five feet beneath my feet.
• Also also are they really not going to explain Byakuyas absurd weight gain? Like, what the hell game? I thought this would be a plot point of some sort. Like he couldnt deal with the stress of what happened in the first game. Or he got stung by all the bees at once. Or something. Why is he fat? Is this a weird sexual thing, Japan? Is this some fetish I dont know about? An engorgement fetish? WHY IS THIS A THING. Truly the great unsolved mystery of this game.
• Murder Plan Grade: D. Teruteru gets points for not noticing his name was written out in blood at the crime scene, but everything else about this was a terrible idea. Teruterus major plan seemed to be relying on Nagito to help him, and as a rule of thumb you probably shouldnt entrust your survival to a complete raving lunatic. Sure, crazy person who I just tried to murder and saw wandering around pantsless and trying to paint all the cats, you seem like a super cool person to team up with. Even if it had worked, he didnt really do much of the work in his defense. Once Nagito gave up he started blabbering in a terrible fake Cajun accent and couldnt even think of one thing in his defense. ALSO, even if Mikan hadnt fallen down and accidentally had sex with everyone in the room on her way down, maybe it isnt a good idea to pretend youre in a location when you have no possible way of being there. I mean, why even fake establish yourself there in the first place. For all they knew, the murder occurred in the dining room. Placing yourself there is the dumbest possible thing he couldnt done. Thats the opposite of what murderers are supposed to do. He created an anti-alibi for himself. Also, the logistics of it still bother me. In the dining room, the lights go out, there are roughly five lines of dialogue, and Byakuya gets stabbed. In the kitchen, Teruteru grabs the portable stove, removes the meat skewer, goes out to the hallway, closes the door so his light cant get through, runs to the storage room, moves around the various junk in his way, climbs down into the secret basement, shimmies over to where the glowing paint is, and then stabs Byakuya. Im more worried about Teruterus obvious time manipulation skills at this point than the fact he just tried to kill us all.

2016 Suprak and His Sometimes Very Wrong Thoughts

• Ahh, nonstop debates how Ive missed you! FEELS SO GOOD TO BE BACK BABY

• Hajime: Byakuya was probably killedunder the table. Nekomaru: WHAT? YOU THINK HE WAS KILLED UNDER THE TABLE?! Nekomaru, master of the obvious, ladies and gentlemen
• Oooh new mechanic. I pointed out Byakuya could see in the dark and Mahiru was like nah it was the killer and came at me like a chump. REBUTTAL SHOWDOWN. It is an interesting idea, but Im not sure I like it that much >_> I like taking time to read through the arguments just to go through the text. Here though I feel like I need to swipe through stuff quickly, and Im not really paying attention until I see something I can counter pop up
• Hiyoko calling out Teruteru for being a pervert. Roll with me my partner in Teruteru hatred.
• How did Byakuya know there was going to be a murder Oh why hello there evidence literally called murder threat. This is case 1 though so Ill forgive the obviousness of some of these answers.
• Tch! He shouldve told us he received a threatening letter! Oof Nekomaru making smarter points than Byakuya. This is how you wind up dead case one, Danganronpa 1 palsie. Danganronpa 1 Byakuya woldnt have pulled this garbage. Then again, he also wouldnt have consumed an entire buffet immediately before the game either.
• OH SNAP FIRST ACCUSATION. Poor Peko. Luckily for her the first person accused is never the killer, naturally. Kazuichi thinks it is because she has to be the one that set up the blackout. Ibuki thinks its because they were both glasses wearers. Sadly, each will be equally correct (at 0%).
• I like how everyone is like no she isnt tall enough to reach the circuit breaker when she had a big box with her she could have climbed on. Or she couldve moved the shelves. I mean, how tall are the walls in that room that she couldnt reach the top if she had the assistance of a decent sized box? Are they in a giants home?
• Ooh new feature to the non-stop debates. Now I can use evidence to strengthen certain arguments. Not a bad idea! Haha and the first use of this ability is to prove she had diarrhea! Truly, this is a Danganronpa title through and through.
• If she locked herself in the bathroom for that long, theres no doubtIts shit. COMING SUMMER 2017 NEKOMARU SHIT DETECTIVE. *flashes to a screen of Nekomaru looking very intently at something. He slowly shakes his head and stands up. Its shit. Fade to black*
• Im kind of wishing now there is some point in every case where Nekomaru is called in to give his expertise on poop so he feels useful again.
• We now need to investigate the cause of Pekos poop problems. This is the most Danganronpa-iest way the game could have started!
• I actually like the bathroom aside though. It shows some cleverness in implementing weird red herrings that the first game needed more of. Like I was suspecting Teruteru and thought maybe the bathroom had something to do with it, both of which are cleared up in early stages of the trial. Multiple false suspects are a good thing, imo.
• Three irons plus the AC is enough to cause a power surge and black-outok I guess! I was wondering what the hell the irons were used for.
• The agree mechanic is really, really good. Now instead of having characters just tell me certain things ala the first game I actually have to find which ones are true on my own. Very nice addition so far.
• UhNagitoare you doing a heel turn? Youre doing it like three testimonies too quick though man we havent even started looking at you yet! He gets really weird really fast like oh jeez hope will always win, right? *wink wink* Well neeeeeever find the killer oh did I say killer I meant driller theres no killer here guys nope. Keep it together man!
• Hahaha hes literally like hey lets just quit and let the killer win thatd be cool right? I have no idea what caused this breakdown but its like hes just quitting midway through case 1.
• Nagito: There are no clues that lead to the killer anywayNot a single one Uh other than the fact youve been jumping up and down saying youre the killer for the past three paragraphs now, you mean?
• Oh hey, picture analysis. This is also a nice addition! Pointing out something suspicious about the picture could be used in interesting ways in future cases, I think.
• Hmmsomething is weird here. Why is Nagito basically giving himself up? And we have like ten unused clues left still. Hm hm hm. I mean, the knife being hidden there is basically why I suspected Nagito in the first place, but I feel like the game kind of threw this in my lap and Im suspicious, dang it. Maybe hes covering up for someone else? BUT WHY?
• Woops never mind he just went full on crazy complete with psycho swirling eyes. Guess he did do it after all >_>
• Ibuki: Holy crap! Hes *totally* the type of guy who spent his childhood killing neighborhood pets! Ibuki knows whats up everyone back away from the table before he starts stabbing again.
• If Nagito did do this, then why the hell did he spend 50 minutes leading me around to show me all the clues? He mustve known it was the first case and with Byakuya dead I needed some sort of tutorial type character.
• Aw yeah Mikan with the rescue. I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WEIRD. My four top secondary suspects are all the ones that want to put the kabash on Nagito, too, which is a nice touch. If it winds up being one of the three of them, the way the game set up this section allows any of them to see like they could be the real killer here.
• Akane continues to be beyond useless and doesnt even understand the rules of the trial. Fake Hina, you hurt me most of all.
• And now Nagito admits he didnt kill Byakuya. Weve gone through all my suspects, dang it! I think I need Gundham to tell me how he got his earring back. Current money is on Teruteru though since the missing weapon was taken from the kitchen.
• I feel like Chiaki and Mikan are basically saving everyone here. Theyre the surprise Kyokos! The whole stabbed under the floorboards things (wouldnt his stab wounds be like super linear right down a straight line then?) is something I figured out immediately but lame Hajime wouldnt say it for some reason.
• Improved Hangmans Gambit more like Improved Hangmans Gambit what is this
• Oh no now we have to listen to Gundham monologue about his stupid earring for five minutes. I choose death. How do I vote?

General Thoughts About The Split Suprak Timeline
A couple of interesting 2016/2020 Suprak mind melds. First off, we both agree Byakuya is an idiot for trying to hide the fact someone wanted to murder. I think 2016 Suprak puts it best where "things will get bad if we don't trust each other" might be true but "someone here wants to murder so we have a reason to not trust at least one person" takes precedent over that. Tell us if someone wants to kill, jerk. That's information we all need.

In 2016 I mock Hajime and Nagito for knowing so much about fire doors. In 2020 I mock Sonia for knowing too little about fire doors. No one is safe from my wrath, apparently.

The other interesting shared though is that Byakuya died the quietest stabbing death ever. It really is weird that we have Ibuki super ears over hear and yet no one count here Byakuya struggling or gurgling or crying out for help or anything. Probably thought things would get bad and we wouldn't trust each other if we knew one of us was getting actively stabbed. STOP KEEPING SECRETS BYAKUYA

Weird clues that I can't remember how they factor into the case: Mikan's vagina, Nekomaru's IBS, Sonia discovering that fire doors are not doors that are on fire. No clue how these things are supposed to help us.

I do like how Nagito's weirdness is foreshadowed here. You can see it start leaking out as he keeps talking to you so when he goes full Joker in the trial it doesn't feel completely out of left field.

The game did apparently trick 2016 Suprak though, since he thought Nagito was the most likely murderer. I at least got Teruteru right as the second most likely murderer though, so it wasn't like I was completely off.

It could be that I haven't played the first game for a longer time now, but I don't really see all the connections 2016 Suprak was building between the characters. Like, I never would've connected Ibuki and Hiro or Mikan and Chihiro at all this time around. Maybe the comparisons are still valid, but I got completely different vibes this time around.

I AM EXCITED FOR THE CLASS TRIAL

Less excited for all the terrible mini-games I remember being part of the class trial though.

16. Byakuya
15. Nagito He had access to the entire crime scene and the ability to set things up beforehand. Plus hes being way too NO WAY IS ANYONE HERE THE KILLER GUYZ. Thats just what the killer would say! I still dont quite get how he did it yet, short of somehow hiding underneath the floor boards. Although I have to admit if both him and Byakuya die then who will help out Hajime? Are they taking out both competent characters immediately? HMMM maybe Im wrong.
14. Teruteru The only other guy who couldve had access to a bunch of the equipment. He couldve taken the murder weapon before we arrived since he was already aware it was missing. Also its looking like Peko and Nekomaru were poisoned somehow? And this dude totally couldve messed with the food.
13. Peko Less likely murderer, but one of the secondary suspects. She wouldnt have the same access to the building as everyone else, but was unaccounted for during the murder. Couldve been the poops. Or it couldve been more nefarious!
12. Fuyuhiko Other secondary suspect. He couldve snuck underneath the floorboards, but there isnt any good way for him to have planted the knife. Also the game was very insistent on it being impossible to get underneath the house from the outside.
11. Gundham Final (and least likely suspect). He was able to get his earing back, meaning he was able to get under the floorboards. He will most likely reveal this to give us a hint towards the real murderer, because he seems extremely unlikely to have done this one. He is pretty weird though and is likely to be a victim himself before too long.
10. Nekomaru Dude has a giant bullseye painted right in the center of him. Big strong obviously tough people dont make it through death games. Sorry dude I dont make the rules. He also is kind of useless during investigations. Yelling I MUST POOP for 45 minutes isnt helping anyone, pal.
9. Sonia The thing about Sonia is she could be good victim or killer fodder. High and powerful princess brought low is something I could totally see this game doing, and either role would fit that theme well. So twice as likely to not make the end as some others. She did a good job pointing out the fire door whatever the hell that is supposed to do. I cant even guess how thats going to come up in trail unless someone is like everyone knows what a fire door is and I can go OBJECTION Sonia is a moron while she sobs uncontrollably in shame.
8. Kazuichi He really reminds me of this games Leon. Like hes just there, taking up space and not really saying much. Even the annoying characters have had their personalities well established by now, but I know nothing about this dude other than hes a mechanic and has the hots for Sonia. Oh and his shark teeth arent helping his odds. I feel like by the third chapter the game will just sort of forget about him and we wont see him again. Like he wont die, hell just stop appearing and no one will mention him anymore.
7. Akane Lets see so far she ate all the food at the buffet and decided to go swimming to help her try and figure out the case without any of the clues. Fake Hina, you are useless and you arent endearing yourself any more with any of your creepy step dad stories.
6. Chiaki Mildly useful during investigations and almost acts like a real person at times. The first game loved these sort of characters. The kind that would kind of find stuff and help a bit without just telling you things. Long after the tutorial characters are dead, Chiaki will be around vaguely pointing me in the right direction in between games of Tetris.
5. Ibuki I think I found this games Hiro. Hiro was the guy I kept thinking would die because he was the dopey comic relief character, and I feel like this time around it will be Ibuki. Shes mildly funny, goofy, and really dumb and any smart killer will try and frame her instead of kill her.
4. Hiyoko I thoroughly enjoyed her calling Byakuya ham hands even after his death. Shes actually one of my favorite characters so far. Kind of Celeste-esque. She even has that OH ARE YOU SERIOUS spooky leaning forward face. Actually, I should probably bump her down a few places as Im becoming more convinced shes a murderer, but I kind of hopes she sticks around for a while to mock Teruteru now that Byakuya is dead.
3. Hajime Probably still the SUPER TWIST bad guy what with his ultimate ability being a secret so far. Still makes it to the very end, at least, though. Seems more competent than Makoto so far, which is nice! When Nagito was being overly chummy he was like wow this dude is weird and when he said he didnt want to go to Byakuyas alone because the murderer could be out there he said wait how do you know Im not the murderer, bro? Neither of these are things Makoto would have asked, unless Kyoko had come up to him first and told him to.
2. Mikan So there was like three seconds where I thought she could actually be the murderer when I got the compromising pose clue, but Im back to the Mikan is totally going to survive to the end camp. If she was the murderer she probably wouldnt have been nice enough to give us that detailed autopsy that basically told us the knife we found wasnt what killed him. Plus, now they cant kill her as she will give these autopsies every case I bet. Also, while Im doing all these comparisons she reminds me of Chihiro with her whole sorry Im sorry Im so sorry that Im sorry routine. Maybe since the game tricked us last time with Chihiros gender this time around they wanted to prove they werent doing the same thing by showing us her genitals at regular intervals. Like see, just doing our twenty minute check in to prove this character is a girl!
1. Mahiru So, Mahiru is the normal, semi-competent character in a sea of weirdos. She is useful in putting things together in a sort of support role and has a good skill that will undoubtedly show up in future cases as evidence as well. Basically everything youd want in a late game character. She also seemed to be developing some sort of relationship with Hajime in something that might be a reoccurring plot point.

Is this some weird tradition Ive never heard of? I googled it and apparently it is an old gardeners trick because half filled plastic bottle reflect light or something and cats dont like it, but it sounds like something that is 100% false. Danganronpa: your favorite source for cat myths.
• They dont have fire doors in Sonias home country of Madeupistan. OSHA would like to have a word with your entire country, Sonia.
• Nekomaru apparently killed the cow here with his bare hands to get Teruteru the meat. Did he fucking punch a cow to death? That's straight up psychopath behavior. If I did free time with him, would there have been a scene of him drenched in cow blood as he talks to me about his workout regime?
• Teruteru says he couldnt make stuff like this from him urban home, but also says that big ol thing of meat is from the cow. Socouldnt anyone with access to a butchers make it? Caught you in your first lie, Teruteru. YOURE TRAPPED NOW.
• You know, thinking about it a bit more, shouldnt Ibuki have been able to hear something happening to Byakuya with here super ears? Like him gurgling on his blood or wet squishing stabby noises or ouch ouch Im being stabbed. Byakuya was the quietest stabbing victim ever, apparently.
• Nagitos crazy starts leaking out at this point talking about how it is better to die having hope in others and how I must be the chosen one. Hajime just laugh and shrugs it off like when a crazy person on the bus talks to you, which is probably for the best.
• Gundham has now recruited poor Chiaki to help him find his earring. He might die because hes unprepared for the trial, but hes going to look good doing so.
• Byakuya got a letter saying someone was going to kill someoneand didnt share that info with us? Hey, ham hands, maybe let us be prepared too. It would be like if the iceberg wrote the Titanic a letter that said I will definitely sink you tonight and the captain didnt tell anyone so they wouldnt get scared. KINDA NEEDED TO KNOW THIS INFO BYAKUYA.
• Nagitos logic is that Byakuya couldnt tell anyone because that would spread doubt and doubt leads to fear and fear leads to hate and hate leads to the dark side of the force. I dont buy it. Tell us next time someone threatens to murder someone else, ham hands.

Superior 2020 Suprak's Superior Thoughts And Musings

• Monokuma: He has such a horrible expression on his face, dont you think? Image shown: Byakuya face down underneath a table with 0.0% of his face visible. Conversation that took place at some point: Hey someone told the art department to make sure we can see Byakuyas face right? Hmm sorry the only note we appear to have sent over was more Mikan vagina. Well at least we covered the important stuff.
• Peko shows up late and it is like the game is TRYING to throw suspicion on her. Oh Byakuya is dead and I just wandered in before the body announcement happened for no reason cough cough so whats going on everyone.
• Monomi shows us to tell us not to believe what Monokuma is saying, which seems like bad timing considering what he just said is someone here killed Byakuya which is objectively true.
• Holy shit Monomi is COVERED in blood after Monokuma hit her. Are these things filled with blood? WHY? WHO FILLED THEIR ANIMATRONIC WITH BLOOD AND EXPECTED IT TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN COME TO LIFE AND CONSUME HUMAN FLESH?
• Mikan volunteers to do the autopsy because she has medical training, which kinda sorta makes sense. I mean, what we really need is an Ultimate Mortician but I guess even a nurse can probably tell hey the blood is coming out of these holes in his chest so thats probably important!
• You know, I think I am remembering almost all of this case now that I play it again. Nagito was trying to killsomeone with his glow in the dark knife and Byakuya shoves him out from under the table only to get killed by Teruteruwho was trying to kill Nagito? I dont remember why he was trying to kill Nagito or exactly how Nagito caused the blackout or why Byakuya didnt deflate when stabbed, but I have the general outline of the case already which will make this easier.
• It is weird to have this additional perspective because now I am noticing small errors I didnt see my first time through (or at least I dont think I did). Byakuya was supposedly stabbed from under the floor by Teruteru, right? But if that was the case wouldnt his wounds be in straight lines? Like, for the slats between the floorboards, they make a big deal about being large enough to stick something through earlier in the chapter, but even if Teruteru could fit something through, you wouldnt think the wounds would be all spread out like this over the body. It should be like two parallel straight lines of wounds, right? Maybe Im forgetting something else and it makes sense, but the victim report shows the stab wounds pretty much all over his torso. Sloppy forensic work by Monokuma, maybe.
• See this is why I like Gundham. He has this huge long aside about the hell hound earring he received for fighting back this bloodthirsty beast and he builds it up and up and then hes just like yeah I need it to commemorate that time I bested that Pomeranian. Thats just good writing, and it made me smile. SUCK IT 2016 SUPRAK.
• I like Mahiru here too. I feel like she has a very human reaction to Byakuya dying which is in stark contrast to Gundham losing his mind about his fake mythical earring.
• Oh pictures! See, I knew her camera skills were going to be used.
• She managed to capture a picture of what looks like Nekomaru midway through soiing himself. Ew.
• I dont know what else Im supposed to draw from this. Nagito was in the back of the room, maybe? Like he was getting ready to head to the table or something? They spend a long time on it and Mahiru says shell draw out a diagram of where everyone is standing, so it is clearly important in some way.
• Nagito points out Byakuya was alive before the blackout and dead after it sohe mustve died DURING the blackout. Yeah, great detective work there, bud. Never wouldve pieced that one together.
• Wait Mikans exposed vagina is a CLUE? A clue to what? Is someone going to go I was furiously masturbating to the way the dinner rolls were arranged and I need to present this as contradictory evidence? I dont remember this being important at all.
• Haha I didnt realize it before but the picture literally says SPREAD EAGLE on it when it pops up as Mikan talks about it. I feel like Im looking at a Ben Garrison attempt at hentai.
• Every now and then this series gets a bit too coy with what is an obvious piece of evidence. There are night vision goggles under the table, and a case in Byakuyas big case that looks exactly like their shape and size. And yet Hajime has to be coy about jeez I wonder what was in there. Everyone else figured that out like ten minutes ago game, so no need to be shy with it.
• The toilet is still locked and whoever is inside is too shy to say anything when we knock. I dont know who it is, but Im going to guess not Nekomaru as that was the dude yelling about him pooping a couple of minutes ago and I feel like they wouldnt have missed the opportunity to use that voice line if he was the one in there.
• Monokuma is the one who reset the breaker which is a weird thing to have happen. Dude is straight up working against the killer. Imagine how much more the killer couldve gotten done if everyone was stumbling around in the dark for ten minutes trying to get out.
• I dont know enough about A/C controls, but are there ones that let you set the temperature at 86? That seems like an absurdly high temperature. Might as well just be in a sauna at that point.
• Kazuichi thinks the killer has to be Peko, which was one of Supraks suspects in 2016, too. I am vaguely insulted that the idiot character had the same theory as me.
• For some reason it is funny to me that Kazuichis account which is him accusing Peko of being the murderer is obtained by talking to him in the same very small room Peko is in. He should be like yeah Peko has to be the killer and then she should cut in and say hey I can hear you, you moron
• Peko has a clear case of the poops and Nagito tells her to go use the toilet at her cottage. Hajime, who might actually be a robot, is unfamiliar with the concept of poop apparently and wonders to himself where she is heading off to.

2016 Suprak Time Traveling to 2020 To Share His Thoughts

• Damn, didnt see this coming. So many unanswered questions about Byakuya. Like did we rule out the possibility of his heart exploding? I wouldnt rule that out tbqh.
• Part of me refuses to believe Byakuya is actually dead because of the way theyre refusing to show his face. Maybe its just tiny Mafioso dressed in a Byakuya fat suit! BYAKUYA LIVES ON DAMMIT
• Mikan volunteers to do the autopsy since shes good at medical stuff, but when I try to talk to her about it we instead get a flashback of her throwing her hoo-ha in the air again. DAMMIT GAME IM ON A PLANE. I can just imagine the doctor I was sitting next to telling a story when he gets back about the guy playing a porno on the airplane. IT ISNT A PORN OLD MAN YOU DONT EVEN SEE ANYTHING STOP EXAGGERATING
• Gundham is predictably useless. Byakuya is dead but the dude literally refuses to stop looking for his stupid little earring, Priorities, man. We see it between the floorboards, which is probably meant to be a clue that someone can crawl underneath there or something.
• OOOOH Byakuya was probably killed from underneath the floorboards. Like someone stuck something through there. He saw the glowing knife and when he was grabbing it they started stabbing away. if thats true though why didnt he say ouch or owwie or hey stop stabbing me? He didnt die instantly from a knife stab.
• Hmmm. Was Byakuya trying to kill someone maybe? Like he smuggled the knife in and was going to use it on someone when he got killed himself? So basically a repeat of case 1 of the first game!
• Byakuyas secret second case has survivor gear in it. Just what the hell were you planning, big fat Byakuya? Why all the survival gear? Hosting a big party like this and making sure no one was armed but bringing a huge kit of random survival stuffthis sounds like he was planning to murder everyone.
• Fake protagonist wants me to come with him to finish the investigation. Probably to murder me if I start getting too close to the answer. RUN HAJIME DONT FOLLOW HIM!
• Sonia has never seen a fire door and we take this opportunity to tell her how out of touch she is. Where the hell do you two live that there are fire doors everywhere?
• Teruteru claims he couldnt see in the kitchen either and we get a clue about that. Oh so hes lying? Or what is the point of this? That its dark everywhere? If fat pervert chef killed based Byakuya, then I will be heartbroken.
• The long skewer thing is still missing from the inventory. Yeah, game, I got that it was the murder weapon before a murder even occurred.
• There are three irons in the back room that fake protagonist claims where running when he checked back there for Byakuya. Aha! So the murderer will be the guy wearing that really nice, freshly pressed shirt, eh?
• There is a bloody tablecloth in the clothes bin and fake protagonist is like oh if you think its a clue maybe it is haha who knows lets leave, right? while rapidly shifting his eyes back and forth and sweating profusely. Yeah, totally not suspicious at all!
• Bathrrom is still locked. Either this is a clue or someone has really bad diarrhea.
• We try to talk to Peko and at first shes all like look, I know how this looks but I really didnt do anything but then is immediately like POOP I MUST POOP. Haha Im beginning to think this whole who has to poop thing might be a clue! Like maybe someone poisoned some people? Both Nekomura and Peko got some bad shellfish? Although it did already tell me only Peko and Akane got food. HMMMM.
• Peko probably didnt do it because the game keeps throwing her in my face as a suspect. Maybe she just wasnt guarding the room because of diarrhea and not murderrea!
• We check Byakuyas place and notice a very threatening note in which someone told Byakuya that someone will definitely die tonight. I like how Byakuyas plan is not to warn us but to gather everyone in a very small space with the murderer. Great idea, Byakuya! The game is like oh he did this because if he told us the truth we might start to lose trust in each other." Psst. Byakuya's corpse. Psst. Ahem. THERE IS SOMEONE WE SHOULDNT BE TRUSTING THOUGH AND NO AMOUNT OF CAKE WILL FIX THAT. Maybe he just wanted to play charades where he would act out one of us plans to kill someone tonight. Always had a flair for the dramatic, that one.
• Fake protagonist excuses himself to dostuffand Im sure it is nothing evil and he wasnt being intentionally elusive for no reason!
• We find Chiaki checking under the house to make sure there was no way to get under there from outside (good idea) and Gundham trying to force he was under to find that five cent earring he lost (not good idea). Chiaki you are mildly competent take five Suprak respect points. Oh, also we find the mini-Mafia guy. He was apparently just wandering around outside in an effort to make himself look like as much as a red herring as possible.
• We get a map of where everyone is standing during the murder and Nekomura finally is able to take his poop. Both of these are clues. Both. Even the poop thing. Never thought the time it would take someone to poop would be a clue in this game, but hey, what do I know.
• We make our way to the beach for the first class trial. WOOOOOOOO ABOUT TIME HYPE HYPE HYPE. The good news is I dont know who the killer is this time. Not having your name written upside down at the crime scene already makes this culprit more capable than Leon!
• Current money is on Nagito for murderer, but there are still things I havent pieced together yet. Like, I think Byakuya was lured under there by someone who put the glow in the dark tape up there so Byakuya would see it and investigate. Although it is kind of dumb for someone to have made that a knife, I guess. Couldve just put the tape and it still would have glowed.
• Lots of parallels to first game. Interesting to see how this will play out.

Reading plum's topic made me think of something I really genuinely appreciate about Danganronpa.

Something that bothered me about the first Professor Layton game specifically (and the follow ups to a lesser extent) is how those games cloak themselves with the veneer of rationality. Layton is an archeology professor and what he's investigating is a missing person case. The town he's visiting seems quirky, but everything you see especially at the beginning is setting you up for something based in logic and reason. So then when the twist is "lol the ENTIRE TOWN is robots that look identical to humans in every way and there is one mechanic keeping everything fucntional" it just feels...off. Like the last part of the script was written by someone else entirely. They don't ease you into it, and by pretending this is a universe similar to ours and based in reason, it makes the plot the worse for it. You cannot anticipate the crazy.

In Danganronpa, the literal first scene is a teddy bear shoving a man into a rocket, who then comes back down into space as a literal skeleton. That is what a game like this needs. Some of the twists are WEIRD and the game is bonkers, but the game tells you right away "hey, we're going on a trip to crazy town, so if you aren't ok with that you need to get off board now and go play something else." There is a suspension of disbelief I am absolutely willing to take, but only if you show me up front. If you show me three quarters the way through the game, I'm going to feel like you didn't have a story in mind and are just making things up as you go.
