Of course many white people still suffer from the wests classist systems designed to oppress the poor and the benefits they get are often not really worth everything else they suffer from. But many others could do with being aware that they at least don't have to fear they might die when they pass the police, or will be automatically assumed the villain. I'm still confused by what "white traitor" and "white abolitionist" are meant to represent and how won't just turn off a large number of otherwise sympathetic people, but the general message of understanding the privilege some of us have from "the system" can and will help in combating the inherent racism in these systems and pushing for change. --- |
