Wouldn't that be due to people not using them properly? In most strategy RPG's you have to make use of the unit to level them up. Arguably there are some guest characters and classes that are overpowered compared to the others so if people want to rely on them, that is their choice. Again, using FFT as my main reference there. --- |

Arguably you might be able to get away with less of it in a Tactics RPG as your use of the mechanics might be able to outdo pure numbers. --- |
