What makes this game stand out for me is the atmosphere. It has a very dark and quiet feel to it which is in stark contrast to most other SNES games that I played. The music and sound design is distinct and does a great job in making you feel isolated within the world.

This. I don't have as many childhood portals as I thought I would (or at least have discovered), but thinking of this game transports my memory to bedroom of the the son of the family that sat me and my sister one summer, and while that was the first time I saw an RPG (Secret of Mana), the first time I played N64 (it just came out), and the first time I heard rap music (Notorious B.I.G.'s "Life After Death"), watching him and his friend in Crustacia with those gull caws and wispy windswept music as they grinded money for the Atlas Medallion. I don't know if I watched snymore of their play before or after, but skmehow watching them fight the same three guys over and over is just ingrained as a wonderful memory.

Secret of Evermore was incredible and incredibly frustrating as a kid. I got so lost and so stuck so many times (navigating the chessboard and lost forest, navigating the pyramid a second time, the Deathflowers) it took me yeeeeaaars before I ever finished. But I loved it. The music, atmosphere, characters, environments... I wish we got mote Square USA attempts.

IIRC, the same composer for Secret of Evermore did the music in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Skyrim

Oh my god. The title was The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain. I think I spent a full week a few years ago trying to remember what that game was! I don't remember too much about it; the intro and voice acting were great, and sometimes I could spend hours poring over puzzles, but I think I often got too frustrated to carry on. Such an unexpected hit of pure nostalgia.

I think if I had this as Software of the Month in 94-95, my time gaming spent at that age would've been... my new SNES, soccer, watching cartoons, and building block forts.

#94. RollerCoaster Tycoon (PC, 1999)

It was still a pretty fun game to go back to, and I was able to see all of what it had to offer. Also, it's always fun to make stupid names for rides.

Definitely still fun to go back to. I really miss the colors in this game. Brilliant reds, oranges, yellows, and purples you could mix and match and theme different rides or parts of the park based on color scheme. It's the same itch I have to replay X-COM 2; sure, the gameplay is a blast, but making unique characters with bold brilliant colors is all I want.

#89. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (PS4, 2015)

This is a game. Basic jRPG gameplay that doesn't do anything special. Bad dungeon design. Not good music. Obnoxious characters. All that said, Digimon are awesome and generally their games are bad or not very accessible. The Digimon skin on this game makes somehow all come together. Do not get me wrong, this game is beyond stupid.

Wow. I'm currently in Chapter 15 and am not surprised by these images, and also kinda mortified yet happy? Yeah, if it weren't for the Digimon themselves being such charming characters I want to collect all of, this game is hot garbage.

#89 - WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2006 (PS2, 2005)

The main draw to this game was the GM mode, where you could take control of one of the two shows, and then battle the other to see who could get the better ratings. You could instill rivalries between wrestlers, have them run promos, and book matches to try and work up the fans as best you could. It wasnt nearly as in-depth as something like TEW, but it was functional, and that was good enough for me.

Have you checked out UpUpDownDown? Yeah, Critical Role is the big appointment internet video, but GM Mode is my personal, "Is it Thursday yet?" They JUST got back into their second season after losing data during a Summerslam livestream. It's been an amazing journey. One of my favorite moments/episodes:

Also loved the TTYD write-up because a lot of those negatives were so huge for me I rarely understood why so many people loved it as much as they did.

On Steam, I've made a mess of things that I should clean someday.

It's categorized mostly by purchase time. I have folders like Summer Sale 2016, Winter 2018, Beated 2018, New Games (containing games from like 2013-14), Currently Playing, Currently Post-Game, and various others like that, as well as bundles together (Tomb Raider, Spiderweb Software, Humble Bundle)

For physical, I used to try to organize my N64 and GCN/Wii, but never had much space. It's been... mmm. It's been about fifteen to twenty games I want to play/"am playing"/would play again in a drawer by the console, and the rest either in another drawer or in my room.
