Because in her character design artwork she particularly has thick thighs while other girls have normal thighs and Akane has sticc thighs. The problem is that in the actual anime the animators didn't seem to consistently draw her with thick thighs. But the intention is that she does have thick thighs. It's what the director wanted. I just wish he made sure she consistently had thick thighs in the actual show.

I've heard that this is the best mecha-related anime in awhile so I might check this out actually.

It's definitely one of my most favourites in recent times. Again, I watched this mainly for Gridman himself and the mecha stuff. I'm a mecha fan. There's a lot of mecha fanservice in this and homages to mecha anime including the choreography of sequences including combination sequences which are done in the style of old Brave shows.

Rikka is secondary. She is best girl though.

And all the other students are based on (but not actually) students from her classes. And that the whole simulation is her way of coping with anxiety, depression, and feelings of worthlessness and loneliness.

This makes sense though. Even if the same people came up with some ridiculous shit, this theory in particular makes sense and is very likely to be true, especially the Rikka looking like real life Akane and Akane using an idealized look for herself in the computer world.

From what I understood this world was fabricated by Akane with the help of Alexis, who enabled her to use her god-like abilties. The world is the computer world which was also in the original show. It might be more accurate to say that that particular part of the computer world was made by Akane since the computer world always existed. Gridman showed up to investigate shit that's happening relating to Alexis since he's basically a cyber cop and he fought Alexis and lost. Alexis attacked him in a way (I think he stabbed him) which caused Gridman to split into fragments. Four of those fragments became the hyper agents Borr, Samurai Calibur, Max and Vit and the last fragment resided within Yuta IIRC. Rikka is like a copy of Akane's real world self, that's why when you see real world Akane at the end she looks like Rikka. Akane's computer world self is her idealized self. Rikka and Sho aren't related to Gridman.

As for the second question, I'm not sure.

Also the reason why the four Hyper Agents' Assist Weapon forms look like the Assist Weapons from the original show might be because of Gridman's memories, when he fought with those Assist Weapons in the original show.

Cross Rays was the first one I played in the series IIRC. Still a solid but definitely prefer Overworld, I like the crossover interactions and variety more.

Overworld is nice but there's a lot of reused and rehashed assets. Cross Rays has a lot of brand new stuff including voice lines so it's more fresh

From what I know about it, the main LBX franchise is basically just a modern-day (and less girly) version of Angelic Layer, right down to both having the same premise of people buying/customizing mechanical figures and have them fight against each other. The franchise did well for a bit (I remember it had an anime and a 3DS game too) but it lost momentum and died quietly. Later on, some artist saw the mecha designs from the franchise, thought "I could turn those into anime girls and make a bunch of money", and bought the rights to the designs so he could make LBX Girls.

Gundam also has a series like that called Gundam Build Fighters and Build Divers. They fight with their plastic models, and it seems that Danball Senki has the same concept. I loved Build Fighters, it's like one of my most favourite Gundam series, I really need to check out Danball Senki already.

LBX Girls. In between battles, the girls drive around in (and basically live in) an armored car with an AI built into it. That AI happens to be a massive troll who messes with people all the time.

Oh I always planned to watch the Danball Senki series, since it's mecha, although they're figures or something I think, but still for all intents and purposes mecha.

This one seems to be a spin-off and not the usual formula. Music is by Go Sakabe, and he does great music.
