Unless the Dems get rid of the filibuster and pass a combination of the New Deal and Johnson's civil rights laws, this is just meaningless sounds from him. We are at a pivotal moment of democratic backsliding in this country. If the Dems don't change things enough to reduce the resentment and sense of brokenness in this country, the next Republican takeover we get will be a fascist one.

And they will not be able to take the necessary action without getting rid of the filibuster. One bill per year that doesn't include democracy reform etc and is restricted by bogus senate rules and traditions won't be enough and will get democracy killed.

President Cotton/Hawley/Trump Jr. is the end for all of us if they let it happen.

This is an unacceptable thing for a newspaper to do and an unacceptable thing for a prosecutor to joke about, especially one with Harris's baggage concerning her treatment of people caught up in the criminal justice system.

I actually enjoyed middle school and the first half of high school. I moved to a new area between sophomore and junior year, and the rest was far far less fun. I didn't make any real friends on the level of the ones I had before. I haven't talked to anyone from high school since leaving. Life has been much better since then.

Can someone show me a singe example of someone being deplatformed, shadowbanned, silenced, harassed, or even just moderated for calling for low taxes and small government? Or for reasoned consideration of proposed social changes? Reducing regulatory burdens?

If these companies are colluding to silence conservatives there must be ample evidence of them doing this. If there's no evidence of companies going after core conservative speech, could it be possible they're being dealt with for some other reasons? Maybe other types of actions or speech?

This is nothing less than a document pushing far right, borderline white nationalist revisionist history.

For example, it argues that the founders weren't raging hypocrites for spouting freedom while setting up a slave society because some of them opposed it and they set up the means of ending slavery.

That ignores how all of our institutions were set up and used to reinforce southern slaveholder power and how slavery was only abolished outside of our system and through the creation of a new one through literally beating the slave powers into submission and essentially writing a new constitution on top of the old one.

It's goes on like that for 45 pages. It's disgusting.

9/11 didn't threaten the Republic at all. It caused far more loss of life, but it didn't affect our institutions or the continuity of our government.

The attack last week was an attempt to overthrow the government, during the certification of the election, in order to install Trump as an objectively unwanted dictator. They planned to do this through violence, fear, and murder.

The effect would have been the deaths of our elected leadership and a direct blow against electoral democracy. The most direct possible assault on the Republic.
