That video is from July. A lot has happened since. The deaths per capita difference between the US and Sweden was 30% then. Now it is basically nothing: 576 dead per 1 million Swedes vs 573 dead per 1 million Americans.

It's also a piece that is very clearly framed to smear Sweden as much as it can, rather than to give an accurate view of how things are here

The reason they dont recommend wide mask usage is because data from other countries suggest that many dont use masks correctly (they touch them, take them on and off, the nose is not covered), it increases the risk of ignoring social distancing which has lead to the virus spread going up in several countries with mandatory mask usage while our spread is going down.

Is this really the case? I've seen arguments along the lines of "It's very difficult to implement" and "With the current infection rate, we'd need 100k mask wearers to prevent 1 infection" as well. But you're probably more insatt.

They've admitted in interviews afterwards that they essentially had no idea what they were doing, learning on the job. The quality of seasons 1 through 4 isn't thanks to the showrunners but thanks to the very talented production staff kind of keeping things floating in spite of two incompetent man babies doing their first television show.

There is poor oversight on the actual cost and money generated. Which enables both Royalists and Republicans to post stuff which might be heavily biased. This is something which needs to be adressed imo. Since all other institutions have easily checkable budgets.

Yeah just the very notion that the economic details aren't well reported is cause for major concern. If they are to exist then they are servants of the public and should be scrutinized as such.

Then again, these days we can't even find out which schools exist in Sweden so, you know :)

Yeah, the original trilogy is quite clear on why Vader uses a lightsaber. He gets mocked for his devotion to an ancient religion, we learn that he's actually a fallen Jedi, and Palpatine refers to a lightsaber as a "Jedi weapon" with scorn and contempt. He then proceeds to fight Luke wholly without a lightsaber because he is in fact not a Jedi, nor was he ever.

Which is why it's complete bollocks when he pulls out lightsabers in Ep III and flails them around like those inflatable dudes at car dealerships. Lucas essentially walked back this idea that lightsabers are Jedi exclusive when he realized that would make it more difficult to include flashy lightsaber duels at every point imaginable.

Yeah. Psych undergrads are super mathphobic. Before I graduated, my department actually had a faculty meeting where they were discussing cutting the already light stats curriculum because students didn't want to take the courses, and they thought they could boost enrollment by nixing the classes.

That's so frustrating. I have a similar issue in my linear algebra class - the games students just want to do 3d sculpting and modeling. It's very tricky to teach linear algebra (without systems of equations) to students who have never heard of trig
