TopicStay Out of Grocery Stores and Order Online: CDC tells people
ElatedVenusaur

I work at Whole Foods, so I can give some insight into ordering via Amazon Prime. Some important points:

1) The people who handle it are Amazon employees: Whole Foods employees actually have nothing to do with it. We cant help you with it, and calling the store about your order will get you referred to Amazon Support.

2) There are plenty of Amazon shoppers, but only rarely is Amazons management actually on site, so the shoppers are largely unsupervised. Some shoppers are really good, others quite clearly have no idea what theyre doing and/or dont care.

3) Whole Foods doesnt carry a lot of national brands. The ones it does carry are invariably marked up. The store brand(365) is pretty good, at least.

4) We dont really have back stock(Order to Shelf lol), so its not uncommon for us to be out of certain products. We do; however, get shipments frequently.

5) Shoppers can substitute stuff somehow: Im not sure how it works though. So that could lead to price disparities.

6) Shoppers put your order on shelves to be picked up by drivers(or you). They have fridges and freezers. An Amazon Prime Now driver comes to pick up and deliver your order. Inevitably, they sometimes screw up and leave a bag behind.
If you choose to pick up your order, there are special spots for order pick-up. Check-in is done via an app or e-mail, and a shopper brings your order out to your car.

I mean, I'm not directly involved in any of these conversations so I'm speculating, but the emphasis on tax credits (both the health insurance and child tax credit stuff) tells me they want to put something together that can pass through reconcilation. Which inherently limits how much you can change. Still I find it weird that so many leftists are so dismissive of biden when his plan does more to address child poverty since, well, probably ever
I, for one, will believe it will actually happen when Biden signs it into law in a socially-distanced Rose Garden ceremony. It's time for the Democrats to govern: they don't get credit for merely suggesting that we should maybe do good things, it's time to actually do good things.

Democrats used the filibuster against Trump far more than any other president. if you think getting rid of the filibuster is a good idea, just imagine if they had done it during Obama and every single one of those 314 blocks made it through.

I get that a short-sighted power grab seems super appealing right now, but Democrats would be shooting themselves in the foot long-term by stripping away that power.
They won't have to worry about power at all after 2022 if they don't.

Moreover, it is, in fact, a bad thing that the Senate is a graveyard where legislation goes to die, and the fact that it is occasionally bad legislation that dies there doesn't make up for it.

I wouldn't say they're bad, TC, just that they're a fad currently.
The strongest of the genre (and this is true even of actual roguetypes) incorporate a lot of hand-crafted elements that may or may not show up on a given run(event encounters in games like FTL are a great example of this) or could occur at different places/depths/whatever. This helps provide the experience texture and structure, even if the space between these sections or events is procedurally-generated.

With that said, yeah, lots of designers DO use it as an excuse to be lazy and/or to justify bad/unclear/blatantly unfair mechanics.

Why isn't the question "why can't I get a higher paid job" instead of "why can't I earn a living wage ringing up groceries by computer"?
This is doubly dumb because it's the white collar jobs that are most likely to be useless, easily automated, and/or outright pernicious.

But to address the points, it's awful hard to get a "better" job when you don't have a degree, your parents don't have extensive connections nor bank accounts, and you're barely making ends meet.

To expound on one factor: its my understanding Hillary ran an extremely top-down campaign. Nothing was done without the say-so of the Brooklyn-based HQ, which was run mostly by analysis of demographics and polling data(internal and external). They were generally dismissive of outside orgs and even local Dem parties, and insisted on running things themselves. This led to them, for example, ignoring the warnings of local party officials and organizers about Wisconsin, because their data said everything was fine.
One of the problems with their approach is that they were, essentially, always seeing the race as it was a week or more ago, rather than where it was in the here and now.
