No, it's a slogan. Policy is way more specific than that. Defund the police just means take money from the police. No one is for taking money from the police and not using it elsewhere. The slogan is not specific on what the policy actually is.

The first time the poll cropped up a large majority were adamant that 9/11 was worse.

In fairness, there were people like me that said this was worse and going to be significantly worse than 9/11.

Even I didn't think we would fail this badly.

Just because opponents will use it against them doesn't mean it's effective. Defund is effective as an attack because it is easy for people to understand.

In fairness, I think part of this is because one wanted and generally agreed upon reform for police is body cams. Which are going to take a pretty large capital investment to start.

Politicians should rarely talk specifics on campaigns. People simply don't have the brainpower to understand more than the basic tag line.

It typically refers to a reallocation of police resources, which some of those things you mentioned are a part of.

The problem would not be fixed by just going"hey use less money".

The problem right now is exasperated because we don't want crowds rushing stores for merchandise. The retailers aren't going to invest in fixing this because it really is a one time deal for this scale.

Except for Amazon and similar. But they really do not give a shit about their consumers anymore and are too big for people to go elsewhere.

Part of the loss of attention is the slogan and the lack of attention of course.

If you can't hit people in the pocketbook it is hard to keep attention. I'm going to preface this by saying people should not riot, but this year has definitely displayed how effective riots are at garnering attention. The media does not cover peaceful protests as extensively.

For what it's worth, activists who support police reform are kind of forced to use radical slogans. All the reasonable ideas have already been claimed by moderate politicians for a long time, which would be fine if they had ever tried to implement any of them. Now the only way to show that you want real police reform (as opposed to spouting platitudes while quietly supporting the status quo) is to vocally support much going further than moderates would want to.

This doesn't make sense though because the cause was winning in the court of public opinion until the slogan came out.

Also leveled my alt to 60. Did storyline up to 59.5ish, hit the escort quest in Revendreth and instead of completing it just switched to Threads of Fate for the remainder.

Some of Threads of Fate(quest markers everywhere) should have been implemented baseline.

I can't stress enough how much AP being gone is great though.

Smaller complaint is that this is the smallest in terms of world size an expansion has ever been and they've cut out travel accessibility to pad time.

Visually the game looks good and the smaller stories within the zones are fine.

My big Shadowlands complaint is the larger narrative of WoW has been terrible.

A big part of BFA was the mystery behind Sylvanas' motivation.

This is handwaived away in a single throwaway line in a throwaway dungeon with literally no connection to the rest of the world. Basically proof that Blizzard has no long term vision for the game. Which would be fine if they would just stop setting up long term narratives.

Trump has basically poisoned positive ads for a long time. He's pretty much proof that negative ads work.

We'd gone for my cousins birthday this January, first time I'd been to Universal here in like 20 some years. But the ticket deal we all had passes so i figured I'd go back at some point for anything I'd missed.

Yep! I am so damn happy right now. No idea how they even had any since I thought they were doing online only still, but I happened to see them on a cart behind the register in the electronic section and they let me buy one.

Some of the online stock came up as pick up at store only.

The game intentionally made me hate everything about it.

It was a fantastic experience.

It takes a simple google for someone to see that you are not being forthright while claiming others are lying.

Also when someone is just outright lying, the proper phrasing is not to say I claim they are lying, it is just that they are lying.

First, is important to note that the study looked exclusively at the protective effects of masks for the wearer, and not at the wearers ability to protect others. Second, the trial was conducted in April and May this year, when face mask use was not widespread in Denmark

And beyond that, the results of this cited study were literally that the use of masks had either positive or inconclusive benefit.
