It really is insulting how little our government has helped its citizens through this pandemic. Were supposed to be the richest nation on earth yet we received ONE measly check for 1200 bucks. Other nations are helping their citizens out by giving them a few hundred bucks a month and are STILL getting that money.

Not saying free money is always the answer but the economic shut down occured without any real plan in place and millions of people are really hurting right now. Trumps damage has gone far beyond the 200,000 deaths.

Overly long resumes is a big one. Ive gotten resumes as long as 14 pages. No one is going to read that. You also dont need to stick to 1
page either, unless youre junior. 1-3 pages is the sweet spot. No more than that.

Other than that, when youre looking at 100s of resumes a day they all pretty much look the same. So I will do a quick scan of the first 2 most recent employment histories and see how well they match the requirements. So I highly suggest tailoring your resume to be aligned with the job posting as much as possible (if you have the experience of course)

I personally dont read cover letters at all so you can skip them. My teams love reading them so if theres one attached then Ill send it to them with the resume and notes of my call. But a cover letter isnt required for a screen with me.

Thanks for that. My rsum is about two and a half pages and Ive questioned if thats too long. The very bottom is unrelated part time college work but I dont job hop often so I dont want to look like I didnt work or anything. I cant imagine a 14 page rsum

Thats interesting about the cover letter too. Ive always heard mixed things about it.

You can have hundreds of pounds of building supplies on a roof. Any roof that cant support multiple peoples weight easily should be a condemned building.
