My freshman year of high school, we would play Smash Bros on N64 in a teacher's classroom during lunch. I remember my friends talking trash about how good they were when we were planning to do it. Then I wiped the floor with all of them with Fox.

Then they started doing 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 and I'd still win every time.

I finally lost against someone when we were playing on Samus' stage. I didn't handle the lava rising well and lost, lol.

I had experience like this too but it was MK9 on PS3. I went over to a buddies place and there were maybe 6 guys and we agreed to play King of the Hill style. They talked so much trash about how good they were till I got my turn, for the next two hours I never lost a round. At one point I even agreed to switch my character after each match, and they could repeat with their main if they wanted. Never lost lol

I don't know how to word this properly, but the thing that concerns me the most is I believe MS far more is interested in Series S taking off. They want to push to an all digital gaming standard. They're trying to thread the needle more gracefully than they did with the original Xbox One plans but they want to move away from physical media.

There are some advantages to digital but in the long run it WILL harm consumers. There will be DRM again at some point, also without retail stores and physical media good luck ever having games go on sale or go on sale at the price points they do.

They've made Series S far weaker in specs so that they can still appeal to the traditional gamer with Series X (higher specs, physical media option etc) but to me it just seems like good cover for their slow baby steps to what they wanted to do back in 2013 with Xbox One. An all digital future where eventually they can control how you access your games.

I was 15 and I beat some guy who was clearly the top SF3 player in this arcade in Japan.

I've gotten tons of plats, beaten various challenging NES games etc.

A personal fun achievement for me though that I'm proud of is I can do all 96 exits in Super Mario World completely from memory.

I got the plat. I played the launch version of the game. It's clearly an unfinished game, or was at that time. I liked the open world map, and then loved when they clearly said "fuck it let's just turn this in DBZ and a bunch of hallways and get it out the door" lol

"It's so bad its good" generally doesn't apply to video games imo, cause a bad game isn't generally fun to play. This a rare case where I had fun regardless of what a mess it is

when college was good, I agree it was awesome, but the dark times were rough man. At least in HS you weren't stuck there 247. In college, you couldn't escape from the bs and had to just take it.

I will say I agree with this somewhat. I was in an intense and small art program for college and sophomore year while on a social level was one of the best times of my life, the pressure I felt in class and in my personal life was some of the roughest moments. Still loved it and glad I went through it though

HS was trash until I got my drivers license after which it was tolerable.

College though was a hoot. Living in on campus townhouses, getting tanked and playing retro games with the boys. Hot girls everywhere you looked and enough inside jokes to make a Rick and Morty fans green with envy.

No idea how I passed two programs while fucking about as much as I did, but those years were the best four years Ive ever had. Wouldnt trade them for anything.

AC for me..

That said, I agree that AK is great and imo it's underrated. I actually think the story is really good, it doesn't top AC but it's very close. For me though, I do feel the bat tank sections are monotonous and the game drags in certain part. I love the fact we get a whole Gotham though. I feel like with a little more polish and removing the fat it could have been the best in the series.

why are you becoming vegetarian? is it because how animals are treated before they're slaughtered etc.....?

Yes. I've grappled with the ethical issues of it all my life, and COVID has caused me to reassess a lot of things. I started feeling if I'm so anxious about my own life/existence how can take the life of another when I have the means to not.

Honestly, don't miss meat at all. Physically I do feel better, less sluggish. I'm not super strict about it, like if I order a rice dish from a restaurant it may be made with chicken stock etc and I won't stress about it if I don't know/ask. My big thing is no more purchasing of meat or animal products from the supermarket and no more ordering meat containing dishes.

It also has the only bad scenes in the entire trilogy. That's the problem.

This. Also, Michael's story was complete at the end of part II. He goes from bright-eyed young man to full evil to totally alone. You get his beginning his rise and his downfall in I and II. Part III does cheapen what came before it simply by existing at all, good or bad.
