I've always hated outlining, even for school projects back in the day so I'm usually pretty seat of my pants. But, if I'm going to write a full novel, I'm gonna have to try to outline more. I also have ideas that randomly pop into my head and I'll jot them down. Some are for specific stories I have in mind and some are "I misread a word on a truck that looked like Charite and thought that sounded like a cool fantasy race". As for tips, it's really whatever works for you. I have no actual experience with creative writing so I'm just treating it like a hobby. I have no intentions of getting published any time soon, if ever, so I treat it like crap that's only gonna be read by me just so I don't get hung up on details too much. You can always edit later, although that's a whole different rabbit hole. --- |

Now it's done and I'm working really hard on not editing it now. I come up with a lot of cool worlds and ideas I want to explore but can't get into an actual pattern of writing. --- |
