They chickened out of more than that, considering how many people thought it would be awesome if Poe and Finn became a couple.

Episode VIII should have been the two of them having buddy cop adventures and teasing sexual tension in parallel to the Rey/Kylo/Jedi plot. With no Rose, no stupid space casino, and no entirely pointless and unnecessary sideplot that goes nowhere just to fill time.

Rose was fine as a character. It was just that shoehorned 'romance' with Finn that literally came out of nowhere and equally went nowhere.

Shuri was pretty racist and xenophobic, perhaps even moreso than killmonger but less murderous. One of the central conflicts in BP was bringing wakanda out of its isolationism and at the forefront of humanitarianism. The only one who bests represents that future of wakanda would be his girlfriend.

I'd be surprised if they recast. I feel it's much more likely that they make Shuri the new BP. They could also easily say that T'Challa & Nakia got married and had a kid in the interim if they didn't want to have Shuri be the ruler and BP at the same time.

Manuals were the fucking best. The Pokemon RB one might have copious amounts of wrong information (partly because the game didn't work like it was supposed to), but that manual was stylish as fuck and we had great character art.

In the past year, I've picked up 3 Pokemon games -- Shield, LG!P, and Pokken -- and felt a deep disappointment each time when I opened the case to find no manual. Sure, I had figured there probably wouldn't be one, but it doesn't salve the wound.

All that aside, I'll admit that other companies hadn't put much effort into their manuals so I didn't always open them.

I mean, I remember the 16-but RPG era when you got the manual, maybe a map, a poster...I started playing The Witcher 3 recently and it had been so long since I installed it, I'd forgotten what all it came with: a manual, a lore compendium, a fold-out map, the soundtrack CD...it's great.

Was that one of the ones Dan Birlew wrote? I have the ones he did for Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy X, and he not only seemed to always make things more difficult than they needed to be, but would get some of the mechanics completely wrong. For instance, in the FFX one, for the first Seymour fight he talked about needing to attack Seymour for several turns until you had built up Shiva's Overdrive when you summoned her. But Shiva has her Overdrive automatically the first time you summon her in that fight, it's part of the story.

And? Kneeling is almost universally a gesture of respect, regardless of how people expect respect to be expressed at any given time. It stands out because it's different and unexpected, not because it's disrespectful.

And that's without saying anything about the supreme, absurd irony of having strict rules about how one must show respect for "the land of the free."

I didn't say it was disrespectful, I said it's being framed that way by people who want to ignore the issues the kneeling is designed to call attention to.

Because you're supposed to stand, either saluting (active-duty military) or with your hand over your heart (retired military & civilians) while the national anthem is played. Kneeling as protest is being framed as disrespectful, even though the entire kneeling thing was thought of by a Green Beret.
