I am in no way in favor of legislation like this, but saying it "could lead to genital exams" when it doesn't say anything about that is taking it to it's most extreme potential nightmare result that would never actually happen. Trying to portray it as something like "the cross country coach is going to check their genitals" is sensationalism.

This is an overly sensational title. The bill doesn't specify how any gender verification would work, so it's just as accurate to say "House Republican introduces anti-trans legislation that could lead to 23andMe testing for school girls."

Its nothing wrong with criticising what the topic is about. It sounds like you want an echo chamber where everyone who posts in this topic is worshipping how awesome this sounds. Then implying anyone who doesn't praise "gender nuetral cards" must hate woman or whatever the usual goto is.

The guy I was replying to was claiming that he wants to ignore this and he can ignore this, but also acting like he was somehow forced to be in this thread talking about it. I also haven't said anybody must hate women, though him going off about women having bodily autonomy sure seems to point that way. I haven't even been one of the people saying that guys who have a problem with it are sensitive or anything though I have no problem echoing the sentiment.

What does their bottom line look like for this produce market? It could make the difference between being able to support a company and everyone gets a job vs. the business is operating at a loss or razor thin profit margins and they could file for bankruptcy and just shit can everyone and then no one gets a job...

I actually just went to see if I could find more info on that, so far all I've found is that the market brings in over $2B in revenue per year.

This is just virtue signaling. She's not making the world a better place by doing this. It's not something that needed to be fixed. If she wants to make the world a better place she should try doing something that actually matters.

I'm not sure you understand forgiveness. For most of us who experienced abuse and trauma, that is the only way to move on. Whether you agree with that or not is fine, however forgiveness isnt about healing the offender, it's about healing yourself and getting some closure to that chapter. You dont have to agree with or understand it, but you also dont have a right to judge how people heal and move on with their lives.

Someone else mentioned Dylan Roof. I dont agree with the family members of the victims forgiving him, but I understand it. If that's what they have to do to find some measure of peace and move on, I have no right to judge their choice to forgive. It's not my pain to bear.

Forgiveness (or more accurately, letting go of things) doesn't require the other party to be part of your life and that user has been saying shit like "give them another chance" and stuff that clearly implies not just dealing with your own issues but inviting that person back into your life.
