As a RE Expert (Not THE RE_Expert44; important distinction), you do realize REmake shoe-horned nothing new in, right? Everything they changed was part of the initial plan for the original. The entire Lisa Trevor part was supposed to be in the original but due to limitation issues, it was scrapped. Capcom really knocked their original vision out of the park with REmake. I consider SMB3, SMW and SMG as better Mario games. But...in 1996, you have to understand Nintendo completely made a jump to a 3D world. SM64 is without a doubt one of the most innovative games of all time. Nintendo STILL uses the same basic move sets from 64, too. The gameplay is revolutionary. | Caution999 09/03/20 10:14:04 AM #1 | That's right. I said it. First, it's more of the same. When we all first played Galaxy it was a fresh gameplay perspective. The amazing music added with the new gravity style of Mario in space was...simply revolutionary. The Luna story also put a tear to your eye and it was a lovely experience. The gameplay really advances as you go further in the game, and by the end, there's not much you really haven't done to completely capitalize on. You completely MASTER the gameplay by the time you're at the purple coins. SMG2 comes out and uh. Yoshi guys! Yoshi! He adds nothing to the gameplay; and in fact, is more of a pain in the ass. It's a chore to advance to new areas with Yoshi. You have that one obstacle course level with Yoshi - which is fun, but if you get hit you gotta chase him down because he runs off like an idiot. Yoshi doesn't bring a new level of gameplay to the game. It's a pain in the ass. Now, lets get to the star bits. In the first game they were a fun little side thing you caught on the side and if you got enough you might get to a new area or something. Second game? YOU BETTER BE CATCHING EVERY LAST ONE. They turn a fun little side thing into something you have to stress over. Get to an area and don't have enough star bits to get to the sidequest? Too bad. Restart the level, loser. They can't even do the "worlds" right. They try to bring back the 2d "worlds" by moving the spaceship on a line to the next level. Except...none of the "worlds" have their own unique gimmick or back-drop or anything. It's just...basically some space background with a line in front of it. Whoopdy do. Speaking of the levels: The later ones are just forced. They're hard for the sake of being difficult. There's nothing revolutionary going on. Just amped up difficulty from the first game's gimmicks. The new powerups mostly suck with exception of the cloud one. That's basically the only good new powerup. The rest are either the same or complete garbage. He's the one who closed down Philly restaurants at the last second. He provides them a date to open, it arrives, and at the last second, he cancels it. Meanwhile, private restaurant owners ordered a lot of food only for the asshat to cancel the initial plans. Oh well. Guess those restaurant owners just have to continue to take a loss. Seems fair. Now, while these people are struggling to survive, this dude thinks it's a good idea to go to a restaurant in another city. Do you honestly think this is a good idea? The optics on this are...very bad. If people in your city are suffering, you don't go to a restaurant elsewhere. That's why he apologized.
