I am honestly finding it just a huge chore to play through this game. I'm at the lighthouse.
The story to the game is boring. The story is one of the most important aspects to JRPGs and this is just so cliche and boring. The dialogue and writing is bad. Don't care about any of the characters. So many JRPGs out there with amazing stories and I'm wasting my time with this.
Collecting Djinnis is a chore, encounter rate is boring.
Ugh, after I'm finished this game I'm not sure I even want to play TLA. Is ANY of this improved with TLA? I might just finish the first one and never touch the series again. I am baffled at the outstanding reviews to this game. I don't understand
I also started Mother 1 on GBA and am enjoying that game waaay more, and that was originally a NES game. I feel like I should just play Mother trilogy and say fuck Golden Sun

I feel like Netflix intentionally and successfully turned what they purchased as a mostly unknown indie film into a huge controversial film that people can't stop talking about, created a liberal vs conservative narrative to go with it, have people praise and attack the movie, and each other, on that basis, then reap in the rewards of said publicity.

There are a few parts in the both games with missable content depending on what choices you make. Make sure to get everything before playing TLA because there is content (Djinn, gear, and events...) that are either only obtained in the first game or only obtainable if you do things in the first game. Basically everything is carried over.

Basically treat both games like they're one big game and that end of Golden Sun is a point of no return.

I'm probably not gonna be able to do that if I missed stuff already. Might not be able to get everything but I'll do what I can.
Doesn't affect the ending of the second game though right?

Another thing I don't like is the yes/no questions.
I was just asked "Don't you have another thing to do?" regarding rescuing Hammet and I answered yes, apparently that means I can't rescue Hammet now? The poor wording of the question made me believe that it wasn't some ultimatum and now I can't do a quest.
I like this game so far, it's just some things about it are annoying.

I'm playing through the first game right now and will move on to the second after.
One thing that annoys me is how when you choose "attack" and if the enemy faints before the character attacks, the character will automatically defend, which is annoying especially for level/money grinding.
In games like Dragon Quest if you attack and one of the enemy faints, the character will just autoamtically attack a different target, but in Golden Sun the character will defend instead of just attack another target.
Was this shitty mechanic changed in the second game or not?
