The fit is almost always significantly more comfortable, and I can't stand generic shirts with giant branding; I prefer interesting colours/patterns/designs. I always get compliments from strangers or when acquaintances see them for the first time who often tell me my clothes fit my personality. I think I have five or six dress shirts that I've paid between $80-200. They've generally held up fairly well and get a lot of usage. Got a lot of usage, social stuff is gone for a while, so they'll last even longer. Though none are unique customs, I've never seen anybody else wearing those shirts, in my own travelling or in movies/tv. That said, it's been literally years since I've bought anything other than (non-black) tour shirts/hoodies since I'm priveledged and have a fuck ton of clothes. I'd have to really, really love a shirt now to want to spend that much. Could get a bunch of vinyl or drum parts or a synth or whatever instead. While I def judge people a little who just want to plaster a corporate logo all over themselves, wear whatever you wanna wear. |

That said, I don't care at all about lyrics and I only remember them through repeated listening. The voice is an instrument and how it sounds is more important than what it being said. I tend to prefer instrumental music, and I always sing along to a guitar hook, funky bass line, fun drum pattern, amazing keys melody, etc. |

Elantra paid off a couple years ago, no kids, usually 1-3 trips a year for festivals/concerts, never really want for anything, she has ~$12k in savings and I have ~$5k. Just setting up an RRSP now in my mid 30s though. I am grateful for how incredibly lucky I've been. |
