Wang's right. At this point, you're ignoring all logic and just assuming Biden is going to magically fix everything day one, which is not a safe assumption at all. You don't want to accept there are actually problems because you assume they're just going to all go away. We can't assume that until they actually do, because right now our pacing sucks big time and shows literally zero signs of improving.

The interview I'm quoting was from yesterday. You're attributing meaning to other quotes from him that he himself is not trying to convey. Fauci is in no way trying to say "Yes, April for sure." Not at all. No way.

I'm not sure why you would think hes caving about timing now.

Because he LITERALLY DID

During his chat with New Day, Fauci also spoke candidly about whether or not Americans should have confidence that the current plan in place will work. "Well, we have to see," he said. "As not being responsible myself for the rollout, I can't personally guarantee that we're gonna catch up."

The rest is him giving what COULD happen if we get back on the initial timeline. He. Is. Not. Saying. We. Definitely. Will.

He sure as hell would not be using the words "catch up" if we were on pace. What are you not getting about this?

I'm not going to continue filling up this topic with a dumb argument that's really only happening because you don't want to admit "We're still well on pace!" was a really dumb thing to say.

There are exact quotes from him saying we're behind schedule, that he does not know if we'll get on schedule since he's not in charge, that he can't guarantee we'll get on schedule, and that things can improve IF we get on schedule. You're trying to paint it as this guy saying "We're going to be there in April" when he's not. He's specifically refusing to actually give his own call on it because he's not in a place where he can do that.

He uses feeling as in he thinks its going to happen.

I don't think so since in every other occurrence he says he doesn't know/can't guarantee. He uses "feeling" as in that's what the people in charge are saying, but the people in charge so far have been pretty incompetent.

"The feeling"

While he, himself, is saying there's no guarantee.

Dude, we're not on pace unless things change pretty drastically. I don't know why you're still on this hill.

Like, this is all that needs to be said:

I believe if we do it correctly, we will be there by the early fall.

If. If. That's a big if, the way things are going right now.

"Let's say in April, it will be what I call open season, namely, anybody who wants to get vaccinated can get vaccinated," Fauci said in the Facebook interview. "If we then diligently vaccinate people in April, May, June, July, then we will gradually and noticeably get a degree of protection approaching herd immunity."

That was his interview today.

Read the whole thing. That's a hypothetical scenario that he's saying could happen IF they turned things around and sped up the pace. That's IF they catch up, he's not saying he thinks they will.

Fauci was on an interview in California with the governor, reiterated he still expects vaccination to be available to the general population within about 3-4 months.

Really? Because he just said yesterday or today that they're behind schedule and he just "hopes" we can get on pace.

"We certainly are not at the numbers that we wanted to be at the end of December," Fauci said. "You heard talking about 40 million doses for 20 million people. I mean, even if you undercount 2 million as an undercount, how much undercount could it be? So we are below where we want to be."

During his chat with New Day, Fauci also spoke candidly about whether or not Americans should have confidence that the current plan in place will work. "Well, we have to see," he said. "As not being responsible myself for the rollout, I can't personally guarantee that we're gonna catch up."

"I hope we do," he continued. "The people who are responsible for it, are really on it. The question is: Are they going to be able to get back to the pace that we set early on? And again, I hope we can."

Like, he's just flat out saying we're well below pace, there, so I think that sorta ends the "We're still well on pace!" argument.

Looks like the actual statement is they expect another 30 million doses in january and then another 50 million in february.

Okay but it's "another" 30 million on top of the... 2 million we have now?

So 32M by end of January isn't much better!

And either way it means they don't expect to hit the target 20M by first week unless they're expecting to only do like 10-12M the rest of the month, so it's still another shifting of the timeline.

How can you say this, though, when they've literally had to change the number multiple times down to 20% of what they initially promised, and now are admitting they don't even know when in Jan they'll hit that?

What part there inspires confidence that we're "more than on pace?"

This is not "mostly fine" when they have to keep lowering the number to the point of just shrugging

In fact, the goal went from 100m to 40m in November, then down to 20m at beginning of December, and then first week of December they admitted even 20m was unrealistic. As of right now, we're only sitting at 2m vaccinated.

Vaccine distro has not been as smooth as it could be but its mostly fine and the story is overblown compared to bigger things on our plate. From what I know the 100M doses "by december" is slightly behind...but its literally just a week behind and they are on schedule to be distributed by the first week of January. So not even a week behind.

We're still on pace to have enough doses of vaccine "for all who want it" within the first 4 or 5 months of the year, way ahead of any pace anyone thought possible.

According to that thread, we'll be lucky to hit 20m by first week of Jan, not 100m. We are not remotely on that pace anymore.

This bipartisan, consensus legislation will provide the Department of Justice with the authority to bring felony charges against a digital transmission service that:
-is primarily designed or provided for the purpose of streaming copyrighted works without the authority of the copyright owner or the law; or
-has no commercially significant purpose or use other than to stream copyrighted works without the authority of the copyright owner or the law; or
-is intentionally marketed by or at the direction of that person to promote its use in streaming copyrighted works without the authority of the copyright owner or the law.

Twitch is screwed since there is no explicit "authority of the copyright owner" with video games. It'd literally have to be a case by case basis, which isn't going to happen unless publishers start putting it in writing in EULAs or whatever. And since it's targeted at the platforms themselves and not the individual users, based on how Twitch handled DMCA, there is a very good chance Twitch just bails.

And given how companies like Atlus have already handled streaming, I don't have faith they're going to suddenly welcome it.

Their response about this is apparently to blame the player for playing the game too much:

This is in response to the save file bug alot of people are encountering, if your save file surpasses 8MB. It was made by a moderator on the CDPR forums. Literally any looting or crafting increases save file size over time. All saves are a ticking time bomb.

**Not all games are designed for unlimited, endless play.**Not all games are designed for NG++++ etc. CP2077, as of now, seems to have been designed with upper limits in place (likely to avoid issues elsewhere in the engine, just like TW3).

The workaround for now?

Don't do it. Play the game until the end, then start a new game. Don't continue saving and reloading the same character for too long. Don't craft thousands of items at once.

Is that ideal? No. And hopefully it can be worked out in the future. Although...maybe not. No game that CDPR has ever created has ever been designed for ongoing, unlimited play. (NG+ was added into TW3 after its release; it was never intended. It was extremely difficult to get working without major issues, is capped at level 100, still gets wildly weird at higher levels, and there is no NG++. It can only be done once per playthrough.) CDPR designs their games with a finite structure: with a beginning, a middle, and an end. They are not meant to be played on and on like Dark Souls, GTA, or an MMO. They're meant to be restarted from the beginning with a new character and played differently. Love it or loathe it, that's the design.

So, for right now, the best step is not to put the game in this sort of situation. It's the nature of the machine.
